Anita Olckers made her South African fashion debut in Sarie magazine in 1997, whilst fulfilling her duties as deputy head girl at Silverton High School in Pretoria.
The South African fashion and entertainment industry welcomed her with open arms as she won her numerous beauty pageants including Miss Teen ’95, Miss Tourism International ’96, Model of the Year, and Miss 5FM Jive Summer Festival. It was not before long that the international fashion world followed suit.
After matriculating in 1997, Anita entered into fulltime modeling.
Her impressive and lengthy career has seen her grace the covers of dozens of magazines, catalogues and advertisements in both the literary and broadcasting forums. Not only a familiar face in European fashion stores Marks & Spencer and C & A Clothing, Anita has also appeared in more than 80 (eighty) television commercials worldwide. Her most recognizable commercial credits include advertisements for Axe, Clairol Nice And Easy, Nivea, Iron Brew, Vodacom, Virgin Mobile and Kellogs. Further memorable career highlights include singing and dancing in the highly acclaimed Italian television show, “Caramba che Fortuna”, and coveted swimwear shoots for magazines such as S.A. Sports Illustrated Swimwear edition, Cosmopolitan Lingerie, FHM and Maxim U.K.
Anita’s success and have afforded her the opportunity to co-present a few South African television productions, such as Toyota Ruffstuff challenge and Stormers Cribs for Supersport and Cosmopolitan magazine’s lingerie television feature. She’s currently co-presenting a golf lifestyle show on Supersport.
Anita’s motto in life is: “Life is not about the amount of breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away...”
