Prople nagazine Camila and Matthew McConaughey's Kids Get to Eat 'Whatever They Want on Fridays Friday is probably the favorite day of the week for Camila and Matthew McConaughey's kids. "Every Friday, they get to have whatever they want to eat, whether it's burgers or whatever," Camila, 31 – who has three children with her hubby of a year-and-a-half – told PEOPLE this week. "And they get to stay up late and watch a movie." The rule probably doesn't apply to their 15-month-old son Livingston, but when the other two – Levi, 5½ and Vida, 4 – aren't getting their day to do whatever, the children's parents make sure their little ones abide by a lifestyle that involves "balance." Explained Camila: "I think that kids need direction and guidance. We keep it very healthy for them, but they have their off days. If they're at a birthday party, I'm not going to tell them not to eat the cake when everyone else is eating the cake. My son doesn't even care for sweets. I find that kids really gravitate towards what you teach them". When it comes to her own eating habits, the Brazilian beauty maintains the same ideal she sets for her children. "I'm not an extremist with food," Camila, who swears by putting turmeric and cinnamon in anything she can, said. "I think you have to find a balance and find what works for your body and what doesn't. I'm a huge fan of chocolate. I can wake up and eat it. But I wasn't feeling well after I ate it, so now I don't really have it all the time anymore. If you like to eat and you like to have fun here and there, you shouldn't feel guilty about it as long as you have a balance." What also helps keep a healthy household is home cooking. "[i cook] all the time, all the time," Camila said. "I'm going to the grocery store, buying the groceries, making the lists. I would say fish is one thing that I'm good at cooking. I love the branzino that I cook. And I love doing salads. You can just add vegetables. You get that fulfillment that you need without adding too many calories to it." Putting her passion for food and fashion to use, the model has collaborated with Wendy's and style site Polyvore to help women "marry nutrition with fashion and have fun with it," she said, explaining that the fast food restaurant has launched two new salads – Asian cashew chicken and BBQ ranch chicken – and "we're incorporating fashion into the inspiration of the salads. So, we're taking the salad and looking at it and thinking, 'Okay, what fashion inspirations do I get from the salad? Is it from the items that are put in the salad? Is it from the colors? The flavor?' " On March 19, Camila will show her inspiration board and others can post their own, using hers for reference. Four women will win $1,000. But Camila has more on her plate – pun intended – than just food. Fresh off the heels of supporting her Academy Award-winning husband Matthew through his glorious awards season sweep for the role of AIDS patient Ron Woodroof, Camila says, "Oh, man, I think I need a week to recover – at least!" Calling the whole experience "a long run," she adds, "It was a lot of fun and now it's time to rest up."

But the 31-year-old Brazilian beauty says it’s never her intention to be in the spotlight when she’s on the red carpet supporting her man. “I wanted to keep it simple because I want to show respect toward the reason that I’m there. I think that everybody who goes to a special event has their place,” McConaughey, who teamed up with Bailey’s before the Oscars, tells PEOPLE. “I don’t necessarily feel comfortable showing up with the biggest dress of the night because I’m not one of the nominees.” But despite her best efforts, her pale pink, draped dress with a regal half cape gown was awfully hard to overlook. McConaughey dished on the process of creating the dress from scratch, looking at numerous sketches and working with the designer to nail down the gown’s shape and pastel color. “The wow factor means doing a silhouette that I’ve never done before … It took me a minute, but I love it!” she says. “We wanted to stick with the natural colors, but I had this one tone that would not leave my mind. We were supposed to do it a different color, but last minute I called and said, ‘Do the dress in this color.’ It was not leaving my mind.”

OK Magazine Camila Alves' Oscars Style Channels Old Hollywood—Get the Look Camila Alves’ hubby Matthew McConaughey may have scored the big win for Best Actor at the 2014 Oscars, but the beauty certainly scores in her own right with a stunning red carpet look. “Our inspiration for tonight’s look on Camila is very old classic Hollywood with a modern twist featuring warm and golden tones,” says makeup artist Patrick de Fontbrune. “She’s wearing a beautiful soft flush pink/salmon Gabriella Cadena dress with an opening in the back and it is just stunning.” Patrick offers a step-by-step guide for how he created Camila’s beauty look: • I started by applying Votre Vu’s Champagne Kisses on Camila’s lips for hydration. Then, I began to moisturize her face first with VBeaute’s Anti-Wrinkle Protecting Serum and then applied Votre Vu’s Attentive Crème du Jour with a brush. For her eyes, I dabbed VBeaute’s Nourishing Repair Eye Cream all around. • To even out her complexion and give a golden glow, I mixed Votre Vu’s Love Me Deux Tinted Moisturizer in Paris and St. Tropez and stippled it onto her skin using a sponge. This allowed me to concentrate and build the coverage where needed. For the more delicate areas, such as under the eyes, I used my fingers to apply to tinted moisturizer. Applying the product this way allowed me to achieve the most flawless results. Camila has perfect skin so the Love Me Deux provided just enough coverage. I really love this product because it comes with a matching concealer that makes it foolproof! I spot concealed around her nose and under the eyes for a flawless finish, then used a touch of Lingerie Pour Les Yeux in Medium over her eyelids to even out the skin there as well. • Next, I went over her T-zone and eyelids lightly with Belle Poudre in Golden Medium and Medium to fix the makeup in place. This also helps the eye shadow to stay put and make the colors stay true. • Using Votre Vu’s Palette Play in Copper, I applied the light beige color for the base all over the eyes and then used the light gold color on the lids. I applied the deepest bronze along the crease and along the upper and lower lash line, and then pulled it out on the outer corners to elongate the eyes. To blend the eye shadows seamlessly, I used a soft angled brush. • Next, using Votre Vu’s Le Joli Crayon in Charbon, I lined the upper lash line and inside the upper and lower lids to add depth to the eyes. To give more drama to the lashes, I used an eyelash curler and made sure to apply the Eiffel Power mascara from the very root to the top, applying from underneath. This helps to keep the curl and prevent the mascara from weighing the lashes down. • To accentuate the look, I filled Camila’s brows in with Arch de Triumphe in Fair. This product went on so smoothly and didn’t move, but still was easy to blend. • Lastly, I lined and filled in her lips with Votre Vu’s Drawmatic Lip Liner in Naked, applied French Kiss in Lisette on top, and finished off the lips with Lip Lustre in Tender (available in Spring/Summer 2014). The French Kiss lipstick is the one product she carried with her onto the red carpet!
