  4. from celebopedia From Celebopedia Noemie Lenoir (born September 19, 1979) is a French supermodel and actress. She was born in the town of Versailles, 25km west of Paris. She is the daughter of a French father and a French mother coming from the French island of La Réunion and who, like many Reunionais, is of Madagascan descent. Noémie was discovered at the age of 17 by a former model who took her to New York City and introduced her to various modelling agencies. This led to Noémie working with famous fashion photographers like Mario Testino and Peter Linbergh resulting in shoots being published in such magazines as Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, and Sports Illustrated. In 2001 Noémie signed with L'Oréal, and has appeared in their advertisements alongside French supermodel Laetitia Casta and long-term spokesmodel and actress Andie McDowell. More recently, Noémie has turned her attentions to acting and has had minor parts in several successful French titles and also appeared opposite Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek in the film After the Sunset. In the spring of 2004, she met and married the French footballer Claude Makelele and on January 24, 2005, Lenoir gave birth to a boy that they named Kelyan. Noemie is currently the face of UK high-street retailer Marks and Spencer, and can be seen in various magazines and billboards alongside fellow models Twiggy and Laura Bailey. Noemie Lenoir is represented worldwide by Elite Model Management Her surname is a very popular one in France especially for girls of her generation. Her last name has a meaning in French. Litterally it means "The black" but it is in fact the equivalent of the English last name Black in the Francophonie, considering the different use of articles in both languages.
  5. From Marks and Spencer Aberdeen The 2006 Christmas M&S advert had a James Bond and Ice Concert theme and the star was Shirley Bassey. It was first aired on 8 November 2006. As you can see in the photograph to the left the stars wore some of the stunning winter range from M&S. The theme tune was Get This Party Started which was sung by Shirley Bassey. Other stars in the 2006 M&S ad were Twiggy, Erin O'Connor, Laura Bailey, Noemie Lenoir and Elizabeth Jagger. The plot of the 90 second television advert saw supermodel Erin O'Connor doing a photo shoot beside London Bridge. She gets a call. At the same time Noemie Lenoir is reading a book at home when she also gets a call. Twiggy also gets a call while she is having a meal. Then three snow-bikes are seen speeding over a snow covered landscape before pulling up by a huge Crystallised building. The first rider pulls her helmet off and it is model Elizabeth Jagger. The other snow bikers take off their helmets to reveal Noemie Lenoir and Erin O'Connor. Twiggy arrives on a sleigh and delivers Christmas gifts. Inside the crystal hotel the models each open Twiggy's presents and are getting ready for the party. As they walk down the staircase to the party the singer is revealed as Shirley Bassey performing her version of Pink's Get This Party Started.
  6. from web wombat Noemie Lenoir By SARA TEMPLETON Noemie Lenoir appears to be the next big thing in modeling circles: Like Laetitia Casta, she's not only French, but has all the hallmarks of becoming the mid-naughties' most wanted model. Noemie has conquered the modeling scene in Europe and America in less than four years, with much of her success down to her image. She has what industry types would call a "fresh" look: Her mother is from an island off the coast of Madagascar, while her father of French blood. With her emerald eyes, striking hair and 'best walk' according to many, Noemie isn't likely to disappear from the modeling A-list anytime soon. Talking about her meteoric rise to fame, Noemie said: "I never really enjoy being recognised. I'm not from a show business background, and it is strange to realize that everyone is waiting for me." Well, in actual fact she said: "Je ne me réjouis pas réellement d'être reconnue. Je ne suis pas issue du milieu du show business, et c'est curieux de réaliser que tout le monde vous cherche," but we just translated. Born in 1980, Versailles, Noemie was 'discovered' in a post office purchasing stamps when she was 16, by a Ford Models representative. Soon after being signed up with a Ford agent, she got her first gig doing a shoot for French Marie Claire. After this she landed a GAP clothing campaign, then Ralph Lauren. But before things got too hectic, Noemie decided to finish her schooling and to increase her knowledge of English. These agenda items completed, she set off for the Big Apple - New York, New York - in 1999 to persue a career in the fashion in industry. And what a career it's been! Having worked with some of the industry's most recognised photographers - and not by chance, either - such as Mario Testino, Ellen von Unwerth, Peter Lindbergh and others, Noemie Lenoir is as far from the stereotypical model as one could be. For instance, when a conversation turns to top models, most think of binge drinking, huge A-list parties with more celebs than you can shake a stick at and lots of nudity and raunchy sex. Noemie, however, is the exact opposite, a model preferring to sleep a lot, and who has fresh attitude towards her job. Some of her work includes the world-famous Pirelli Calendar, campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren Jeans and L'Oreal, has done shoots for magazines Allure, Glamour, Mademoiselle, and multiple internationals for Elle, Vogue and Marie Claire. She has cat-walked for more than 18 designers, including Gucci and Oscar de la Renta, has been part of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue on more than one occasion, has modeled for the US lingerine line Victoria's Secret and has even starred in her first movie - Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre, alongside Gerard Depardieu and Monica Bellucci. At present, Noemie lives in New York City and one of her favourite past-times is shopping. Hard to believe, really... Commenting on her physique and how to keep in shape - which isn't made easy when you spend more than half the week travelling - she mentions eating good food, swimming a lot and getting lots of rest seem to work for her. She also loves horse riding and animals in general, and she even hinted recently that she may like to move into other areas of the fashion industry. Could we be seeing the Lenoir range of ready-to-wear ensembles in the near future? If her career so far is anything to go by, then yes - bien sur!
  7. from the sun online from the sun Babe's an undie achiever By TONI JONES Deputy Fashion Editor YOU may not know her name, but her body is familiar to millions – and has helped Marks & Spencer hit new heights. Gorgeous Noemie Lenoir has been advertising the store’s undies on billboards across the country as well as on TV and in newspapers and magazines. The 26-year-old Afro-French beauty’s charms have boosted M&S lingerie sales by 20 per cent. And you can check out a slideshow of her sexy snaps by clicking on the link below. Overall the firm’s womenswear ad campaign — featuring Noemie and models Twiggy, Erin O’Connor and Laura Bailey — is credited with helping annual profits soar 35 per cent to £751million. But it is Noemie — pronounced No-ee-mee — who has emerged as the store’s sales sensation, with every outfit she advertises selling out within days. A pair of black and white shoes she wore in one ad became the subject of frenzied teen weblogs as girls battled to get hold of them. Though she is virtually unknown in Britain, 5ft 10in Noemie is hugely successful in the US and Europe, appearing in campaigns for Gap, Tommy Hilfiger, Gucci, Victoria’s Secret and L’Oreal. Her husband is famous in his own right — he is Chelsea’s French midfielder Claude Makalele. The couple, below, have a one-year-old son, Kelyan, and divide their time between homes in West London and Manhattan.Despite her jetset lifestyle, Noemie loves relaxing with her family and shuns the celebrity lifestyle that so many mega models enjoy. She says: “Being sexy is a game. I never really enjoy being recognised. I’m not from a show business background and it’s strange to realise that everyone is waiting around for me.” It is this down-to-earth manner — supermodel without the super attitude — which shoppers find so appealing and which is helping M&S go from strength to strength. The company’s Marketing Director Steven Sharp says: “Noemie has starred in some of our previous lingerie campaigns. “We used her again because we wanted to show our lingerie in a natural environment, as women would like to see it, rather than in a gratuitous ‘Hello Boys’ way and because we felt she brought another level of fun into the mix.”

  10. ARticle from Goa Interview from Goa Ford supermodel and Dream Team Ambassadress to the world for L?Oreal Paris, French model turned actress, Noemie Lenoir on what makes her world go round. Discovered by the Ford Models when sixteen, Noemie's face has graced the covers of French Elle and Marie Claire, followed by campaigns for GAP, Tommy Hillfiger, Ralph Lauren and H&M: * Discovered at the age of 16, stardom at the age of 21, has it changed your perceptions of life and how has it affected your day-to-day living? NL. No, it has not changed anything at all. I have no pretensions of my success and I'm an ordinary person just like everyone. I will not change for stardom. * What is your opinion of the fashion industry in Paris as compared to the fashion industry in India? NL. That's what I will discover I hope when I get there, because to be honest, I'm not very much aware of Indian fashion. * You?ve been photographed by the best names in the fashion industry. How do you prepare yourself before a photo shoot? NL. I don?t do anything special, but I always make sure to get up early, have a good breakfast, shower to arrive with clean hair and a clean face. Then I?m ready to work and in a good mood. But now that I have my son, I have to look into his preparation at the same time as mine. * Your favourite photographer and why? What was it like on the first day of your shoot? NL. I don?t have any favourites...they are all so individual and are exceptional talented artists in their own ways, that you can only appreciate each one at his value and his work. But for my first shoot day, Wow! I was nervous but I let him lead me through each step and he managed to make me feel so comfortable that the day flew by too quickly.. * Designers you really love working with and why? NL. Everyone. I love Jean Paul Gaultier, but also for example Roberto Cavalli, Azzaro, Leonard, Fendi and a French stylist called Barbara Bui that has beautiful little dresses for day and evening wear. * You can?t leave home without? L'Oreal Ideal Balance foundation, Blush Delicieux, a bit of gloss and that's it. * What are the essentials in your travel bag? NL. My recent book, my music ...and of course a tooth brush and face cleaning products, with my favourite shawl to keep me warm and cuddle up with to sleep, especially on a long flight. * How would you describe your relationship with God? NL. Very special and close in everything and everyday. * From being a model to an upcoming actress, how did cinema happen to you? NL. A very special haphazard encounter with Alain Chabat that gave me my first chance in `Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra!? * How do you balance the demands of both the professions? What are the similarities between these two roles? NL. They are the same for me, no matter what, when you are modeling or acting you are always in the skin of someone else, playing the role of someone else. I find them very compatible. * As the brand ambassador of L?Oreal worldwide, what are your responsibilities towards the brand? And how do you identify yourself with it? NL. I promote the brand to its maximum as it has first of all a great variety of products for hair, make-up, body and face treatments. Each product can be used and bought by everyone women (and now men as well!!) as they are clinically tested by scientists and dermatologists (and not on animals!!!) and at a very good price, suitable for everyone?s purse and the fact that I can and want to represent all the multi-ethnics in the world. I'm very proud of this exposure and have a brand of this importance in the world show that there is no differences in being black, coloured or white. We are all equal and beautiful. * What goes into making a perfect day in your life? NL. Making sure that my son and family are happy. * As a person deeply involved in charity and voluntary work, what is the message you are trying to convey to your fans? NL. That love and attention is free, so please help the person next to you in need, no matter how important or not you are. * As a young mother, what values would you like to instill in your son? NL. To be open minded, have a multi-cultured education, above all to be generous and loving and to show him that you need to work hard in life to succeed.
