Short interview with Elle - Feb 15 Short interview with Elle - Feb 15 The sporty Maud Welzen is having quite the active fashion week for her New York premiere. Having already walked Preen, Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti, and BCBG, this Dutch doll still has many more exciting shows on her plate. We caught up with the on-the-rise star to talk secret beauty tips, Twitter, and her favorite kind of cookie. ELLE: What’s been the most surprising thing about fashion week so far? MW: This is my first season doing the shows in New York so the entire week is quite surprising really as I don’t know what to expect! I meet new designers as the days go along and see which shows I will do so every day has something new. ELLE: What’s the coolest collection you’ve seen so far? MW: In this fashion week, definitely Marc Jacobs. ELLE: How many hours of sleep are you getting a night? MW: If I sleep seven or eight hours that is enough for me to be at my best, but I can sleep a ton if I really want or if I have the time. Not likely to happen during fashion week, but when I can get a break! ELLE: What’s on your iPod? MW: I listen to a lot of different kinds of music and at the moment I listen a lot to house music. Sometimes I even pick up new music from the music in shows. ELLE: What’s your must-have breakfast? MW: I like to eat yogurt in the morning. It’s easy and quick and available anywhere. ELLE: What are you reading? MW: I like to read dramatic novels and I absolutely love magazines. I read them all. ELLE: Are you on Twitter? MW: Yes I am, I have a twitter account, but to be honest I don’t use it at all. Maybe I will start! ELLE: What’s your favorite in-between show snack? MW: Dutch cookies. I like Sultana cookies – they are so, so, so good. I think the best in the world. ELLE: What do you wear off-duty in this weather? MW: An oversized sweater with leggings, and flat boots. ELLE: What beauty product is saving your life this week? MW: Vaseline. It has been so cold and windy so my skin and lips are super dry. Vaseline is very heavy, but I needed something strong!
