Kaka commits himself to Real Madrid: I have a challenge in Spain Former AC Milan player insists that he will not be going back to Italy this summer, nor will he be reunited with Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea after a disappointing season in Spain Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has maintained that he wants to stay with the Spanish giants next season and is not thinking about playing in either England or Italy. The Brazilian joined Real Madrid in 2009 for a then world record £59.8 million but has not been a regular starter. Rumours have circulated that he could leave in the summer, either to Chelsea – to reunite with former manager Carlo Ancelotti – or back to Italy, where he was such a dominant force with AC Milan. However, the man himself has stressed his desire to stay in the Spanish capital, despite the fact that his mother is moving to England next year. "I want to stay in Real Madrid and I want to play for Real Madrid," he told reporters. "My mother is coming to live in London next year. She is a preacher and she is coming to talk about God. "But I have a challenge in Real Madrid. I don't want to think now about playing in the Premier League or going back to Italy. "I want to get back in good shape and play for Real Madrid next season. "I have had a bad two years, I can say that. But now we have won a cup and got to the semi-final of the Champions League.” The Brazilian was the subject of a massive bid from Manchester City in January 2009, but Kaka said that he never considered joining the club. "I refused Manchester City because it was the middle of the season and I always said that I wanted to go to Madrid if I left Milan," he said. Likewise, on the subject of a rumoured move to Chelsea, Kaka was dismissive about linking up with former boss Ancelotti. "I have a good relationship with Carlo but the truth is that I want to stay in Madrid, I want to play in Madrid and I want to live in Madrid," he explained.- Cristiano Ronaldo
Ronaldo: I'm not obsessed with goals Cristiano Ronaldo insists he is not obsessed with scoring after matching La Liga's single-season scoring record with a brace in the 3-1 win against Villarreal. The Real Madrid forward fired in a free-kick three minutes into stoppage time to take his tally to 38 for the season, level with Athletic Bilbao striker Telmo Zarra in 1950/51 and Madrid's own Hugo Sanchez in 1989/90. Ronaldo's first in the 22nd minute had made it 2-0 to the visitors after Marcelo's opener, and his second restored the two-goal advantage after Ruben Cani had hit back for the hosts. While he was pleased with the personal achievement, the Portguese claimed he never expected to score that many goals. "I am very happy about equaling Zarra and Hugo Sanchez's record," enthused the 26-year-old, according to Madrid's official website. "The truth is I didn't expect to score so many goals this year and I feel honored to reach two legends like Zarra and Hugo Sanchez. "What really matters is that we earned a great victory at a complicated venue. All of us, coach and players alike, want to have a good end to the season, and we're accomplishing this so far. "I would like to score even more goals against Almeria, but I'm not obsessed about it. I've tried to score from set pieces many times this year, but had been unlucky until now." The former Manchester United winger has also urged Madrid to continue their good run of form, although they have nothing to play for, with rivals Barcelona having wrapped up the La Liga title. "I'm happy both on a personal and collective level because the entire team is performing well," added Ronaldo. "We play at a high level and score many goals. There may be nothing at stake for us any more, but Real Madrid always work hard to win." Madrid play host to Almeria on Sunday in their final game of the season.- Cristiano Ronaldo
Villarreal 1-3 Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo matched the Spanish top-flight single-season scoring record with a brace against Villarreal. The Portugal forward fired in a free-kick three minutes into stoppage time to take his tally to 38 for the season, level with Athletic Bilbao striker Telmo Zarra in 1950/51 and Madrid's own Hugo Sanchez in 1989/90. Ronaldo's first in the 22nd minute had made it 2-0 to the visitors after Marcelo's opener, and his second restored the two-goal advantage after Ruben Cani had hit back for the hosts. The record was virtually all that was on the line tonight as Villarreal's now extinguished hopes of finishing third were slim at best, while Madrid have already lost out in the title race to Barcelona. But goals were clearly on the mind of Madrid as they pushed forward from the start. Kaka had forced Diego Lopez to tip a shot around the post in the opening minute and they went on to score twice in the early going. Kaka teed up Marcelo for the first, with the full-back lobbing Lopez to make it 1-0 after 17 minutes. Ronaldo then fired home a free-kick from the edge of the area after Kaka had been fouled. They continued to push forward with Ronaldo firing narrowly wide just after the half-hour mark. The hosts were not seen as an attacking force until first-half stoppage time, when Iker Casillas comfortably held Marco Ruben's shot. However, they needed only five minutes of the second half to get back in it with Cani finishing from close range. Ruben then blazed a shot over the bar as they sought what would have been a shock equaliser. But Madrid gradually gained the upper hand, with Esteban Granero firing over before Pepe nodded narrowly over the top from Xabi Alonso's free-kick into the danger zone. Mesut Ozil brought another good save out of Lopez in the 71st minute, and the keeper also had to push Ronaldo's lobbed effort out for a corner as the pressure continued to build. Madrid finally got the third they were looking for three minutes into stoppage time when Carlos Machena fouled Raul Albiol and Ronaldo found the top left-hand corner with his free-kick.- Cristiano Ronaldo

Karanka delight at Real team ethic Real Madrid's assistant coach Aitor Karanka praised his team's mentality after their 4-0 thumping of Getafe. Despite many criticising Real for putting out a reserve side for matches this season, as they did again on Tuesday, Karanka believes the team is capable of putting in a performance regardless of who takes to the field. "This year, we've proved that the team doesn't suffer, regardless of who plays," Karanka said on Real's official website. "There is no greater motivation for our men than to wear this club's shirt. "Real Madrid have gone for every game, both when the media said we used an A or a B side. We've proved to play at a high level regardless of the players we use." "There's always some motivational factor, and the greatest of all is to play for Real Madrid. "What is paramount on this squad is comradeship and to have a good atmosphere, so it's even better for us if we're able to help a teammate achieve a personal goal." The 37-year-old was also quick to congratulate Cristiano Ronaldo's on his hat trick, which made it seven goals in the last two games. "Ronaldo's numbers are truly impressive, and his quality allows him to do this and much more. It is also the product of the work done by the entire team, which also has impressive collective numbers this season." The Portuguese star has scored 36 goals in La Liga so far this season, just two shy of Hugo Sanchez's record. Tuesday night's victory also had added significance as it saw the debut of young goalkeeper Tomas Mejias, who could be looking to establish himself as Iker Casillas's deputy in seasons to come. Karanka was pleased that Real were able to reward the youngster, who replaced Antonio Adan for the last ten minutes of the match. "We had previously somewhat discussed allowing Mejias to make his debut. It's a reward to the hard work he's done this season. It's a beautiful thing to see another youth teamer make his first team debut. He deserved it." While Real are still unlikely to overtake Barcelona and win this season's La Liga, their strong end to this season, where they have only lost two of their last 15 games, could be seen as a signal of their intentions for next year.- Ricardo Carvalho

Kaka Ranks No. 1 Sportsman in Twitter As per 9 May 2011, Kaka ranks No. 1 for the followers in twitter for the category of sportsman. He is above the Shaquille O’Neal, the NBA Player. Speaking about twitter, strange things happened on Iker’s account @Ikercasillas which was just newly created (I think last night). It has been verified that it belongs to Iker and Iker has made his first posting, even Arbeloa has tweeted to Iker using this account. However, since a few hours ago, when you click that account, it says that the username does not exist.- Jose Mourinho
Real delay Barcelona coronation Real Madrid delayed Barcelona's title celebrations at least by 24 hours thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick. Jose Mourinho's men thumped struggling neighbours Getafe 4-0 in La Liga at the Bernabeu. Anything other than a Madrid victory would have seen Barca crowned Spanish champions for the third successive season, but La Liga's leading scorer Ronaldo ensured that would not be the case. The world's most expensive player, who scored four times in Saturday's 6-2 win at Sevilla, netted in the 24th, 58th and 90th minutes to take his tally to the season to 36 - two short of equalling the Primera Division record. Karim Benzema also got on the scoresheet seconds after coming on as a substitute as Madrid closed the gap on leaders Barca to five points. Goals by Kennedy Bakircioglu and Markus Rosenborg saw Racing Santander come from a goal down to beat Atletico Madrid 2-1 and guarantee their top-flight status for another season. However, the result is a blow to Atletico's hopes of qualifying for the Europa League as they remain on the same points as sixth-placed Sevilla who visit Osasuna on Wednesday. Quique Sanchez Flores' side took the lead early on through Mario Suarez but Bakircioglu and Rosenborg overturned the deficit with Giovanni dos Santos a constant menace in the second half. Malaga look certain to secure survival after winning their fifth game in a row - a 2-0 victory at home to Sporting Gijon. Manuel Pellegrini's side were in big trouble not so long ago, but have been on a great run of form of late - particularly since the return from injury of striker Julio Baptista. The Brazilian set the Andalusians on their way with the opening goal after nine minutes and Eliseu Pereira made sure of victory with a second in the second half. Juan Carlos Valeron inspired Deportivo La Coruna to a stirring fightback as the Galicians came from a goal down to beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1 with two own goals to boost their hopes of survival. Deportivo, who started the day in the drop zone with just 39 points, suffered an early setback as Gaizka Toquero gave Athletic the lead after three minutes. But led by Valeron, who rolled back the years with an outstanding playmaking performance, Depor fought back and claimed three vital points following own-goals from Carlos Gurpegi and Xabier Castillo.- Kaká

Kaka camp drops Chelsea hint The future of Real Madrid midfielder Kaka appears to be London and move to Stamford Bridge. The Brazilian's mother fueled speculation that her son is set for a reunion with his former AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea next season Without going into detail, she said ''We are going to be in London next season where we will be preaching the word of God. We will be there from August - I can tell you.'' Kaka has endured a frustrating time at Madrid following a £59 million transfer in the summer of 2009 from Milan. Last week, Madrid confirmed the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin which appears, on the surface, to have further pushed Kaka down the pecking order in coach Jose Mourinho's plans. The 22-year-old Turkey international has agreed a six-year deal with the Spanish giants after helping Dortmund land this season's Bundesliga title.- Cristiano Ronaldo
Real Madrid 4-0 Getafe Real Madrid delayed Barcelona's title celebrations at least by 24 hours after they thumped struggling neighbours Getafe. A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helped Jose Mourinho's men prevent Barca from being crowned Spanish champions for the third successive season. The world's most expensive player, who scored four times in Saturday's 6-2 win at Sevilla, netted in the 24th, 58th and 90th minutes to take his tally to the season to 36 - two short of equalling the league record. Karim Benzema also got on the scoresheet seconds after coming on as a substitute as Madrid closed the gap on leaders Barca to five points. However, with only two games left in the season for Madrid they are know it is Barca's title to lose, and Pep Guardiola's men can clinch the championship with a point against Levante on Wednesday night. For Getafe, the defeat leaves them still in deep relegation trouble near the foot of the table. After a slow start, Madrid took the lead in the 26th minute through that man Ronaldo. Mesut Ozil curled in a superb cross with the outside of his left foot and Ronaldo climbed between Getafe defenders Cata Diaz and Miguel Torres to power a downward header past Oscar Ustari. That proved to be the only goal of the first half, although Madrid survived a scare right on the stroke of half-time when Adrian Colunga saw his goal-bound header blocked by Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa. Ronaldo, who started the day two goals clear of Barcelona's Lionel Messi at the top of the scoring charts, looked keen to increase his tally at the start of the second half with two efforts on goal. And he did make it 2-0 in the 57th minute after again being set up by Ozil. Ustari just beat Gonzalo Higuain to a through-pass, but the loose ball fell to Ozil, who rolled the ball inside to Ronaldo, who took his time before coolly slotting into a gaping net. Getafe had the chance to pull a goal back on the hour but the unmarked Javi Casquero completely fluffed his shot from the edge of the area. Madrid then added a third in the 77th minute when Benzema, having just seconds earlier replaced Higuain, latched onto a Xabi Alonso pass before slamming his second touch of the ball into the roof of the net. The hosts had chances to increase their lead in the closing stages but hat-trick hunting Ronaldo saw an effort tipped behind by Ustari, who also produced a brilliant save to deny Alonso. Ronaldo would be celebrating his treble by the end however after the referee adjudged Mane to have fouled the Portugal international in the box. It looked a harsh decision but Ronaldo took advantage by slotting the resulting penalty down the centre of the goal to complete a one-side win - although one that is ultimately unlikely to prevent Barca from winning the title.- Nuri Sahin
