  1. Reporter: Sr. Mourinho, I suppose that after this win, you’re feeling more relaxed? Mou: I’m only going to answer questions that are in the script. Let’s see, next question. You. Reporter, reading off chalkboard: Is it true that Mourinho is better looking than Guardiola? Mou: You ask me such great questions. Well, yes. And in addition, I have much more hair. Ok. Next question. You. Reporter: Do you believe… Mou: Silence! Move your lips! (Reporter): Sr. Mourinho, Sr. Mourinho, when will you stop being the world’s best coach? Mou: I don’t like to answer these types of questions, as I’m quite… modest. Reporter: This is an insult to our intelligence. Mou: Don’t think so highly of yourselves. Next question. You, the handsome one. Reporter Mou: How do you manage to be so attractive and charismatic at the same time? Mou: Finally, an intelligent question. Reporter: Enough! It’s easy to be arrogant since you just won, but several weeks ago, there were a lot of doubts. Mou: The doubts make me laugh. Look. Well, it’s not working now because I’m chewing gum. (Laughs). Now I’m laughing.

Sergio and Guti Sergio: Hey, another mine! This game is so easy. I found all the mines. I’m the Bill Gates of Camas. And what’s this? Gutiérrez is connected… that must be Turkish. Guti: Weah! What’s up paleto? (Paleto has the meaning of an unsophisticated person from the countryside). Sergio: What’s up quillo? (Quillo is a term from Andalucía which just means guy, dude, etc.) How is everything going in Turkey? Guti: Here, I’m a celebrity. I’m the Belén Esteban of Istanbul. Yo por Beşiktaş, ma-to. How is everything? Has the present I sent you arrived yet? Sergio: Of course, quillo. It’s a very beautiful box. Guti: No, you idiot. The present is inside. Sergio: You should have said so, Gutiérrez. Wow, how exciting! A Turkish telephone! Hello… Gutiérrez… Guti, I can’t hear you! There’s no signal! Guti! Guti: What are you doing, tontolaba? (Tontolaba means a person who’s a bit stupid and naïve.) It’s not a telephone, it’s a pipe (pipa in Spanish, you know, like Higuaín)! Sergio: Ahhhh, a what? Guti: A pipe, a hookah. Sergio: Ahhhh. Guti: You don’t know what that is either, do you? (Sergio shakes head). It’s a water pipe, a pipa, a pi pa, pi-pa-pi-pa, humo viene, humo va… Ok kid, I have to go train now. Sergio: Guti, Guti! A pipe? How do you smoke this?
  3. Cristiano and Sara Sara: Iker, what is he doing here? And what are you doing in a restaurant with your goalkeeper’s kit on? Iker: I’m trying to resolve the argument between the two of you, cari! Since I’m such a cool guy, such a normal guy, captain of Real Madrid, captain of the two of us, I brought you here so that you can make up. Cris: I don’t speak to snitches. Sara: And I don’t speak with guys who have less hair than I do (in the sense that the hair is removed via waxing). Iker: Come on… how about I leave the two of you alone for a bit. Iker: Hello, I’m Iker, I’m like you, and you. I’m Iker. Hello, I’m Iker Casillas and I’m like you, well like you with millions. Waiter: What would you like to eat? Cris: A “carbonero” pizza. Waiter: You mean “carbonara.” Cris: No, carbonero. It’s like the carbonara, but more difficult to swallow. Take that! 1-0, Carbonero! Sara: You score goals here because you can’t do it on the field. 1-1!! Hahaha!!! What’s wrong? Another one of your anxiety attacks? Cris: It’s not anxiety, stupid! It’s that I’m allergic to cheap restaurants. Waiter: Excuse me, the pizza is for sharing? Cris: Sharing? What is sharing? Sara: Sharing is to enjoy something with everyone else. Cris: Well, ok, then I also know what sharing is. I’m going to share the pizza with myself. Sara: I can’t take any more! I’m going to the bathroom to check on my makeup. Cris: Huh? Hold on a second. You have the same eye shadow compact as me! Look! Sara: It’s true! Cris: How pretty! Sara: Wow! You have the mascara, how cool! Cris: Do you want to try it? Sara: You mean it? Cris: Of course! Sara: Of course I’d like to, Cristiano. Cris: Do you want to meet up tomorrow to get our eyebrows waxed together? Sara: Yes! Can I call you Cris? Cris: Of course!… Carbo! Cris Carbo! Now that we’re friends, can I give you a kiss like the one Iker gave you at the World Cup? Iker: What a save!

Marcelo Vieira From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Marcelo Marcelo in 2009-10 Real Madrid.jpg Personal information Full name Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior Date of birth 12 May 1988 (1988-05-12) (age 22) Place of birth Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Height 1.72 m (5 ft 7 1⁄2 in)[1] Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior (born 12 May 1988) is a Brazilian footballer who plays for Real Madrid and the Brazil national football team. Mainly a defender, he can also operate as a midfielder, always on the left side of the pitch. Contents [hide] [edit] Club career [edit] Fluminense Marcelo started playing futsal at the age of 9 and by the age of 13 he was on the books of Fluminense. He comes from a very poor background and even considered quitting football, but his club considered him as one of their "Crown Jewels" and ensured that he continued playing. [edit] Real Madrid Marcelo joined Real Madrid during the January transfer window in 2007. On his arrival, club president Ramón Calderón said, "He is an important signing for us. He is a young player who will inject some freshness into the side and is part of our plan to bring younger players into the squad. We're very happy because he's a pearl that half of Europe wanted."[2] Many spectators hailed him as Roberto Carlos' potential successor in the left-back role. Marcelo during 2008–09 season Marcelo made his debut as a substitute in the 2–0 defeat against Deportivo La Coruña on 7 January 2007.[3] On 14 April 2007, then coach Fabio Capello gave Marcelo his first start for Real Madrid against Racing de Santander. Real Madrid controversially lost the game 2–1[4]. In the 2007/08 season, Marcelo had started nearly all of Madrid's league games under the new manager Bernd Schuster. His ability, speed running across the field, attack, and defence had enabled him to become a very important player for Real Madrid. After a string of poor performances in 2009, Marcelo found himself on the bench for much of the remaining season while under new manager Juande Ramos, mainly as deputy to the more defensive minded Gabriel Heinze. Juande Ramos deployed Marcelo as a left winger on more than one occasion, and the Brazilian adapted well to his new role. He scored his first goal after receiving a heel flick from striker Gonzalo Higuaín and slotting the ball past the goalkeeper in Real Madrid's 4–0 thumping of Sporting de Gijón. After the game, coach Ramos declared that Marcelo's future would be positioned as a left winger, but will push back to defense when required. Marcelo scored his second goal for Real Madrid in their recent victory over Almeria, a powerful strike from outside of the box with his weaker right foot. On 18 April 2009 he scored his third goal of his Real Madrid career, when he scored the only goal of the game against Recreativo de Huelva away from home.[5] He scored his fourth goal against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in April 2009. Under the next head coach Manuel Pellegrini, Marcelo consistently featured in the starting eleven for his versatility and pace along the left flank in offensive and defensive roles. He continued to be employed as a left-winger under Pellegrini, and reached the top of the assist charts of La Liga in the 2009/10 season. He admitted in a press conference at the end of 2009, "I now feel better playing as a left winger." [6] His successful performance in Madrid's 2009/2010 campaign earned him a contract extension on February 5, 2010 with the club until June of 2015.[7] In the current 2010/11 season under coach Jose Mourinho, Marcelo has found himself back in his natural position of left-back. He has started all league games, paying back the coach's confidence in him with defensive steel and attacking intent. [8] [edit] International career Marcelo's first taste of international football came at the youth level. He was called up for the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship and the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Marcelo scored on his Brazil debut against Wales at Tottenham Hotspurs' White Hart Lane (the scored finshed 2–0). He picked up the ball just outside the Wales box and shot for a traditional Brazilian full back goal. Marcelo has become one of the preferred choices of Brazil's football coach Dunga. Marcelo has recently been compared to former Real Madrid and Brazilian national team left-back Roberto Carlos. The two played together during the second half of the 2006–07 season before Roberto Carlos' move to Turkish team Fenerbahçe. He was called up for the 2008 Olympic squad where he won a bronze medal. Marcelo was called up for the 12 August 2009 match against Estonia but had to withdraw due to injury. In May 2010, he was named as one of the seven players serving as backup for Brazil's 2010 FIFA World Cup squad.[9].Despite Not being called up by former Brazil coach Dunga he was selected again from new Brazil coach Mano Menezes for a friendly against USA on August 10, 2010.

During an interview with GOL T, Jose Mourinho discussed his career as a head coach and Real Madrid's current state of affairs. What is more important, excellent tactics or team management and player mindset? I prefer to say that rather than working with footballer players I am working with men, which is why human aspects are fundamental. Are you hired because you are a winner? Whoever says they don't pay attention to results doesn't earn good results. I think it is a loser’s way of thinking. What is it about English football that attracts you? I prefer England. I think that in Portugal, Italy and Spain there are some fans who prefer the day before and day after a match rather than the match itself. You always had unique footballers on your teams. Deco at Porto, Lampard at Chelsea, Sneijder at Inter... Who has that role at Real Madrid? Xabi Alonso is our go-to guy. He is our second stage man who builds situations that we hope to finish. The position Ozil covers, where Kaka may return to, is the position that you are referring to. In attack we have players who aren’t just finishers. Players like Cristiano and Di Maria can unbalance many defenses because of their individual skills. (I really hope Kaka gets fit for just this reason, he's such a natural Mourinho-style player.) Four years ago in London you said that your team didn’t play the way you liked it to, but that it was the way that gave you the best chance of winning in English football. Does that translate to Spain now? The joy of my job and carreer is that it has allowed me to coach in Portugal, then England, then Italy and now Spain. It makes me a much richer coach than one who has always managed in the same place and in the same culture. Do you still think that the defense's main role is to defend? Marcelo is a great example now. He was a player who I didn’t like because he was everything but a defender. Now I am in love with him. He has plenty of offensive talent, but he is improving so much on defense that it makes me think that I don’t want another left back. Does the team's surroundings also play a role? More than surroundings is the team's ability to close up and become impenetrable. Do you not care what people think of you? How am I going to worry when so many people have something to say about me? There isn’t one interview that doesn’t mention me in the Spanish press. Imagine if I was concerned about it. Are you the perfect coach for Real Madrid? I don’t think Real Madrid can have a coach without a past. I have won two Champions Leagues and six league titles in different countries. I have won 17 titles in total. There were many doubters when I got here. Real Madrid cannot have a coach without status or prestige and he must be given room to work with. Are players selfish, generally speaking? I always say that a football player is a special animal. A great team cannot have eleven great players. You can’t win a thing with eleven great players. (Subtle burn to Perez?) Are there any players who are intransferable? Players make themselves intransferable. Casillas, for example, is one. But not because he is the captain of Real Madrid and a world champion. He works hard, always wants to improve, he takes care of himself and has the perfect social life for a football player. He is a leader, but a calm leader. But I haven’t made him intransferable. He has. That is why I say some players cannot be transferred.

  12. Granero: "We want this to be our year" Real Madrid sponsor bwin caught up with Esteban Granero ahead of the team's match against Malaga. "I am pretty sure we can keep another clean sheet if we continue playing the way we have been. It's crucial that we do so, especially on the road. Opponents gets more comfortable once they score a goal, so we need to be mindful of Malaga, who know how to play defensively and who have specific players who specialize in counterattacking. We need to be solid in defense and I am sure that we can score a goal or two with the offensive firepower we have." "We need to focus on scoring. Anything can happen with the talent we have in attack. We are capable of scoring many goals, but I am even more confident that we won't concede many." "Malaga have rebuilt and have many talented players. Their two wingers and forwards are their biggest threats because they are fast and can do a lot of damage on the counter. We must pressure in attack and seek the win." "Real Madrid is always a favorite, but let's not speak of such things. Barcelona won the last league and they control their own fate. We want this to be our year and for Real Madrid to return to teh pinnacle of the football world. After two years of not winning a thing, we think it's our time. We have every incentive in the world to win." "My versatility has always benefitted me. I have always been a center midfielder, but I have also adapted well to the wings when needed. Mourinho knows exactly where to play me and where I can best serve the team. Mourinho treats his players well, so I am sure he will play me where he sees fit." I know RM.com is notorious for typos, but I want to believe that "teh pinnacle" was intentional.
  13. Mourinho: "I want to reach the end of the season with this same squad" During Friday's post-training press conference, Jose Mourinho hinted at the lineup he will use against Malaga and asked that his players remain focused during Saturday's game. "We feel more and more comfortable every time we take the pitch. The players are getting to know one another and are getting used to the way we prepare for matches. Some might expect us to win much in the same way we did against Deportivo, but I don't see it that way. I hope we continue making progress. Despite the matches we have drawn, which didn't please me in the least, I am happy with how the team is performing."

Zidane to work closely with Mourinho Zinedine Zidane is set to take up a role proposed by Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho. The legendary Frenchman has a current role that sees him act as an ambassador of the club cum an advisor to president Florentino Perez. But Mourinho has earlier requested to have 'Zizou' close to his side to act as a link between him and the president and also to have him more involved on the ground. The Special One was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail: "I would like to have him more with me and less with the president. I don't think he wants to become a coach but I would still like to have him with me." And the latest comments by Zidane would be music to the ears of Mourinho. The 38-year-old told French radio station Europe 1: "I will work more with him [Mourinho]. I'll be the link between the first team and the president. "It suits me because I wanted to go a little deeper into the structure of the club." An official announcement has yet to be made by the club but Zidane is not expected to take up a coaching role.

abi Alonso: "Expectations this year are higher than ever" Realmadrid.com Real Madrid sponsor bwin caught up with Xabi Alonso on the eve of the midfielder's return to his former stomping ground, Real Sociedad. "Real Sociedad have a good coach who works his men hard. They also have a team build primarily of academy players, which makes their commitment even greater. They pllay with two central midfielders, Aramburu and Rivas. I know them very well and they are hard workers, so we need to be very astute. We may have some difficulties if we aren't on top of our game. We will do our best to win."
