    SHE'S internationally famous with a movie star boyfriend and a portfolio of sexy fashion shoots.

    But Miranda Kerr still talks to her parents every day and is hoping they can get to Melbourne to see her latest parade.

    Kerr flew into town on Monday night in preparation for the local launch of David Jones' spring-summer collections, for which she is the ambassador.

    The Victoria's Secret Angel, 26, said she was hoping to see mum Therese and dad John, if their work schedules allowed, but there will be no surprise visit from boyfriend Orlando Bloom.

    Kerr said she was close to her parents, who had been keen supporters of her 12-year career.

    She said her mum was not critical of her work but always truthful. "She's supportive and genuine and yes, she is honest - she'll tell me," she said.

    Kerr is touring the major Australian capitals for the David Jones launch and has a packed schedule for when she returns to New York, including another show for lingerie brand Victoria's Secret and a cover shoot for Italian GQ magazine.

    The beauty has also been making headlines for some racier shoots, including the Pirelli calendar and a Rolling Stone cover.

    Arriving at LAX last night - 18 July 2009

    (Perhaps to begin shooting the Christmas commercial that was mentioned on Alessandra's official forum?)

    Judging by these pictures, it kind of seems like she took Frankie out of the carrier just to pose for pictures. No reason to walk around the airport with a dog in your arms.

    Perhaps Frankie doesn't like being in the carrier, so Miranda put him out as soon as possible...or perhaps she likes to have him in his arms, who knows?

    I like her outfit, she seems like a diva carrying her luggage :)

    The best way to start the Met’s Costume Institute celebrations? Attend Harry Josh’s 8th Annual Spring Fling party hosted with Nur Khan at the Gramercy Park Hotel. And that’s exactly what countless models, fashion insiders, and celebrities did this Saturday.

    The event was full of models and their significant others, including Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom, newlyweds Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady, as well as Naomi Campbell and Vladislav Doronin. Daria Werbowy stopped by; Karolina Kurkova pulled off the jumpsuit trend adorably in a belted jean outfit with flats, cuddling up to Richard Chai; Lily Donaldson went with her favorite look—a leather skirt and white shirt; and Noot Seear had a perfectly embellished LBD. Gisele and Tom danced the night away, getting into Pink’s “So What.” Still giddy over their nuptials, or practicing for the Met?

    Also in attendance: Josh Hartnett to honor his friend Harry, Kate Hudson with her mom Goldie Hawn, Ashley Olsen, Kate Bosworth, Jessica Alba, January Jones, Rachel Zoe, Marc Jacobs (in a kilt, of course), Narciso Rodriguez, and Georgina Chapman. Hopefully everyone got enough rest on the rainy Sunday for the big event this evening: The Met’s Costume Institute Gala celebrating “The Model as Muse”!

    Even the good-girl model has a naughty side when it comes to sending sexy texts to her boyfriend, says Jacqueline Lang

    Is this really Miranda Kerr? Clad in black leather, astride a huge, gleaming Yamaha R6 motorbike that she handles like a pro, the model looks like sex on legs (and yes, those would be absolutely amazing legs).

    As Madonna’s Into The Groove blares out over the stereo, she leaps off the bike to dance and writhe around the studio, pouting like a sex kitten before breaking into the dimpled smile that has propelled her into the ranks of the world’s top earning models

    It’s clear she’s enjoying the early morning shoot – and her delight at the out-of-character look we’ve created for her becomes even more apparent when she asks a member of our team to take pictures of her on her mobile phone – which she immediately texts to her boyfriend, Orlando Bloom.

    Whether it’s the sexy black leathers or the Yamaha (willingly loaned by Grazia retoucher Myles) that she is teasing the actor with remains a secret between them (alas we weren’t privy to his replies) but Orlando owns a bike and Miranda’s been spotted riding pillion.

    Orlando is strictly off limits for the interview (“Not even going there, not at all” she says firmly) but it’s obvious the 25-year-old Gunnedah girl is very much in love. But she can’t help confiding the Brit actor is flying out to Australia to watch her strut her stuff at the David Jones autumn/winter collections show on Wednesday. Orlando’s presence is something of a coup for DJs who can count on huge coverage of the event.

    As she sits down to talk to Grazia, Miranda admits their joint high profile has changed her life.

    “Usually when I get home to Sydney I love to have an oxygen facial and go down to the beach and do some yoga but this time at the airport there were photographers waiting.

    “I hadn’t expected that. I realised it was probably better if I did the yoga in my room, which isn’t quite the same…” her voice trails off…

    “I certainly don’t want to sound as though I’m complaining, but DJs is a household name and as I’m now a fashion ambassador for them, I’m well known, Australia-wide. I don’t have any privacy any more!”
