PZ int.mp4 (( When Polina walked in, I think it’s fair to say that she had her guard up. One might describe her in that moment as cold. That’s not unusual; a lot of people walk thru our door not sure what awaits them. Most don’t know that we’re going to sit them down, put a light on them, shove a camera in their face while two strangers they just met interrogate them, at times intimately. More than understandable why just about anyone would be a tad standoffish. But about 20 minutes later, the taciturn shell had rifted under the gentle tap of a duet of questions. In a moment just as quick as the questions had come, the armor was unlocked. As we were wrapping up, I gave Polina a deep hug and a big kiss on the cheek as I thanked her for sharing a little of herself with us. To which, she looked me in the eye while she flashed her biggest smile of the day and said “I feel warm.” ))
