I love this interview: Marisa Miller's Q&A The one thing I'm absolutely obsessed with lately is ... I think I'm always crazy and obsessed with music. Usually the background for my life is different music and trying to get the energy up. So, I mean, music is always a big one. What else am I crazy about? I've been playing Guitar Hero a lot lately [laughs]. Do you play that game? It's so addicting and you feel like such a rock star, so I've been doing that a lot. It's so funny because you feel like you're actually a musician, even though you're not. Freebird is killer. Oh! I love the Heart song, Crazy on You. I like playing The Rolling Stones one, shoot, what is it called? Let me look at my playlist. Can't You Hear Me Knocking. Sometimes I'll do it by myself, but usually it's with people. It's so funny because when we first got it, my best friend and I were up in Santa Cruz, and she's married too, so we walk in and both of our husbands are playing it. I didn't know what the game was, and we just walk in and they're totally just rocking out. The music was so loud and we were laughing so hard because they thought they were such rock stars. We thought this is so funny, and then we started doing it and we got totally addicted to it. Then we heard they're releasing the '80s songs in July, so we're all obsessed now. It's pretty fun and it's cool because I'm such a rock girl. First I was just trying to get the game down so I could hang with everybody, but it's funny because once you kind of get the song you're hooked. On a quiet, rainy day I usually ... Need to catch up on some sleep. So if I can sleep in, I will. I really try to make an effort to connect with my friends, and stuff like that, because when you're on the road so much, a lot of times you miss out on the birthday parties and this and that. You miss out on a lot of stuff like that because you're gone all the time. So if I do get a day off and it's a quiet day, I'll usually just try to connect with my friends and just kind of try to catch up on personal stuff. If I were giving a tour of my home, the one place I wouldn't show anyone is ... You know what? I'm pretty clean [laughs], so there's no where really. I mean, I would say our office is a little embarrassing because, it's really cute, but my husband has so many pictures of me in here that it's embarrassing. Its like, 'Did you have to put that picture on the wall?' He'll be like, 'But I love this picture.' He has my baby photos framed in the office. So I walk in and there's a lot of pictures of me in here and it makes me a little uncomfortable, but it's coming from a good place. My mom, of course, supplies him with all this stuff. It's a little bit embarrassing for me when people walk into the office and are like, 'OK ...' I'm like, 'Look, I didn't put up all this stuff of myself.' The sexiest thing a man has ever done for me is ... When my husband booked me spa days kind of randomly, not for any occasion really, but just because he knew I was working hard and whatever. Just to take care of you. Anytime a guy does something to try to take care of his woman, that to me is romantic. Whether it's getting the groceries for me because I've been traveling all day and there's no food in the house. It doesn't have to be something involved with money, or it doesn't have to be a jewelry thing, you know. It's more of them just putting in the effort just to do something nice for you, and just taking care of you. Whatever it is that you need at that moment, like a foot rub. My husband does that all the time. Like I had just shot my first Victoria's Secret commercial and I was in heels for like 14 hours, running around, and I came home with my body just busted. He's so tired from work, but he takes the lotion out and starts massaging my feet and I was like, 'I love you!' [laughs]. You know, those kinds of things mean everything. When they're just clued into you and how to take care of you, that's the most romantic stuff. And the sexiest thing I've ever done for a man is ... [Laughs] Without getting too detailed, I'm such a lingerie girl. Because I think I'm that natural California girl and I'm always pretty much dressed down on my own time and I do put the effort for my husband, to make it fun. I'm definitely a girly-girl like that and so in my personal time I definitely put in the energy because especially when you're married and you've been together, you gotta keep it exciting and fun. So I definitely put the effort in to do that. You dress up in lingerie for no reason? Yeah, I do that a lot actually [Laughs]. Yeah, I mean you kind ofhave to the drawer in your house, the fun drawer, so it's like, 'What are you feeling tonight?' It's cool because if you're just open with each other and you have that kind of spontaneity, you don't really take it seriously either, you can't take yourself seriously, you gotta have fun with it, you have one life to live. Especially for guys, because I think it means a lot. At the end of the day, guys are, in my mind, pretty simple: give them good food and good love and they're happy. I don't think men are very complicated. When it comes to that, I think it's important for girls to put in the effort and take care of their men. I think that's how guys like to be taken care of. In a past life I was ... Well I don't know that I believe in past lives, but if I was something maybe I was a dolphin; that'd be pretty cool. Have you ever watched Planet Earth? God, it's so amazing! It's all in Hi-Def. The craziest photography ever of up close and personal with animals; it's crazy. So I saw this thing on dolphins and it's so cool because they're so playful. They seem like they have personalities, which is pretty cool and they're in the ocean, and I love the ocean. If I didn't have any responsibilities tomorrow morning, I would spend tonight ... Probably going dancing somewhere because I love to dance with my friends. I'm in Santa Cruz right now, I'm home. My cousin's wedding is this weekend so we're definitely going to be doing that anyway. But I love to dance and to be around my friends. I really value the time I get to spend with them. That's probably what I'll be doing tonight or tomorrow night. What is your favorite type of music? You know what's funny? If you told me that I'd say this two years ago, I wouldn't have believed you, but I really like the '80s stuff now. I had a whole bunch of friends over and we made this playlist and we got the house rigged with a ton of speakers so you could hear it throughout the house. It was all '80s songs that everyone went crazy for. You don't really hear the songs that much anymore, but everyone knows the words and they're fun to dance to. I mean, there are different songs for different moods but when you're in a dancing, playful mood, I think '80s stuff is fun. I love the Cure! We went to Vegas a couple months ago and saw Foreigner and that was pretty funny. They're all, you know, old, but they're still wearing their really, really tight pants. They sounded really good. There's only like, two or three original members now, but the drummer was Jason Bonham [son of the late John Bonham]. That was pretty rad and they played a few licks from Zeppelin. If I didn't have any responsibilities for a week, I would go to ... Honestly, I think because I travel so much, I don't really want to go anywhere. People, always ask me that, like, 'Where would you go on vacation?' There's a ton of beautiful places I've been to but I just love my home in Santa cruz. I'm home right now. I had a crazy work week and I came up here last night. It's so cool because our house is on three acres, we have deer in the backyard, the beach is close, my family and friends are here. It's just awesome because if we're at the house, we'll have dinner parties. It's just about sleeping in, seeing your friends and family, going to the beach, and just chilling out. Kind of just having a normal existence. When you're always on the road, you want something stable and I get that stability from being in Santa Cruz and being home. Santa Cruz is very, like, real. It's very kind of earthy, and it was a little hippie, it's not like that now, but people are very simple here. It's cool. You can be really unassuming and in a sweatshirt and jeans all day, and your flip flops. It's great. If you asked my friends about me, the first thing they would tell you is ... That I'm very down-to-earth. Santa Cruz, for instance, is a really small town so a lot of people in the town know who I am, you know, especially from Sports Illustrated. A lot of my good friends will tell me, 'Oh, I met so-and-so, they're such a fan and they really want to meet you.' And then I'll meet them an they're always like, 'God, you're so down-to-earth and so nice.' I think people have this idea in their head that you're going to be intimidating or what a model is or, I don't know. I don't know what people think it's going to be. They always end up saying to me, 'Oh, you're so nice and friendly.' I'm very approachable, I'm very nice to everybody, as I should be. That shouldn't be a good trait; everybody should be nice, whoever they are. Even on my jobs, hair and makeup, stylists, art director, whatever, they'll always be like, 'God, you're so nice Marisa.' And I think, 'God, what are the other girls like?' It's like, why shouldn't I be? That's why I say I'm down-to-earth. I don't really look at myself like I'm Marisa the model and I'm way up here. The last thing I really splurged on was ... I've been trying to be really good financially and saving my money. Well, I am going to buy a new car actually, probably in the next couple months here because I've been driving my Toyota 4-Runner for like, four or five years now. It was just kind of the car I wanted because I could throw my board in the back and didn't have to obsess about having a nice car or anything like that. But I think I'm kind of ready to have ... I'm still going to keep the 4-Runner for when I go surf and go the beach, but I think I might get a nicer car now. I'm not sure what I'm going to get yet. I want something that drives a little smoother, and that I can pull up to nice restaurants and not have sand pour out of the back of the car, you know? [Laughs]. I love trucks, but since I have a 4-Runner I'll probably get something a little nicer and a little safer; just a nice car. If I were going to a costume party tonight, I would dress as ... Well, it's actually kind of sad. I was going to have this big Halloween party at my house, but I ended up working, so I didn't get to dress up, but I had this really sexy Alice in Wonderland costume [Laughs]. I still have that in the closet, so maybe I'll wear it this year. It's so funny for girls, I don't know why it turns into wearing the sexiest thing you can find. It's basically the blue dress, really short, white apron. It has this white petticoat underneath that kind of sticks out, it's just really short and tight on your body. When I get dressed to go to the grocery store, my clothing inspiration is ... I'm in a good pair of jeans and a T-shirt. I wear a T-shirt and jeans almost every day. Maybe if I'm going out it'll be the same thing but with a pair of heels. I like wearing high heels when I go out at night, but being in California, you don't have to do much more than that. It's all about a good pair of jeans. I like really thin T-shirts because they're really comfortable but tight to your body so you don't look frumpy. But I'm always in jeans and T-Shirts. When I get dressed up for a party, my clothing inspiration is ... Well, I'm hoping that I'll probably be dancing, so something that is comfortable and that I'm not going to fall out of. Same thing though, jeans and I have a lot of rock T-shirts. I'll wear that and just put on a pair of heels. One thing I do only when I'm home completely alone is ... Probably dance around in the bathroom. It was funny because my husband was away and we got the speakers hooked up in the bathroom so you can listen to music in the shower, and everywhere and I totally was like dancing with my hair dryer in my underwear, and he was laughing so hard. Usually I'm prancing around the house dancing, kind of being silly. The one thing I hate for people to know about me is that I ... I would say probably the last time I surfed, because I used to surf all the time and everybody knows me as the surfer girl but because I work so much now, it's such a different thing. It used to be something I did 24/7 and now it's more far and few between. Also, especially in the wintertime the waves are bigger and the conditions are a lot gnarlier, and my body is just not conditioned. Women don't have the upper strength naturally that men do, it would take me a while to get to that point where you can paddle strong, and then I go away for two weeks and come back and it would just be like, 'Damn it!' In my mind I know what I can do and what I'm capable of, but it's just not the same anymore because I'm not in the water every day. If I had to spend $1 million right now, I would ... I really wanted to start getting involved with a charity and I started calling around. I talked to this charity here, it's local in Santa Cruz, its called Jacob's Heart and they deal with kids who have cancer, helping them out because all the treatment centers are up in Stanford, like an hour and 45 minutes away and really expensive. I'm going to start to get involved with that charity. I definitely want to start doing some stuff with kids and giving back and I wanted to do something local. I would give part of the money to Jacob's Heart. I'm not sure what I would do with the rest. I'm trying to be really responsible with money now because you can't do this forever. If I had to spend $10 right now, I would ... I would probably go get a chocolate shake because I'm craving one right now. There's an In-N-Out Burger 20 minutes away, but there's a place called Darma's, it's kind of like the healthy place here but they have pretty good shakes. And if I had to spend $1 right now, I would ... I'm going to take my cousin to get a manicure and pedicure because she's getting married this weekend so I'd probably give her any extra money for the spa treatment. The sexiest I've ever felt was ... I would say the Jamaica stuff we did this past year, I was feeling pretty good. The crew of people was great and Peter Butler, who is a good friend, did my hair. That sunset was just amazing. That sunset we had that one afternoon, was just unreal. And being at the beach all day and feeling the sun all day, I mean, that's the best. It always involves being outside, being healthy and playing around. The one place I've seen that I'll never forget is ... You know what? There was this place in Virgin Gorda called the Baths, and it was so weird, like these caves. You'd actually swim from cave to cave. Some of it would be, you go into one cave and you could go in the water, and you go to another one and you had to swim to another one. It was natural how it was done. We were shooting in these caves and it was so crazy, like a little dream world. It was cool how you swim from cave to cave. The water was warm and clear. But it was just a crazy setup, this whole thing. It was so beautiful. I won't date a man if he ... Smokes. My favorite time to be naked is ... [Laughs] You know what, and it's funny because I'm trying to rig the back yard for this, being in the sun and being naked. That's the best. I'm trying to rig up the backyard to make it more private so I can do that. We planted these bushes all the way around the background, so it's possible. It's cool because we have a eucalyptus forest in the back yard. We don't really have neighbors right next to us, so it's a pretty cool feeling. When it comes to nudity, most people don't know that I ... Publicly, it's not comfortable for me, but privately it is. When I open my eyes in the morning, the very first thing on my mind is ... Food. I'm such a breakfast person. I really like the egg, cheese, and biscuit or croissant sandwiches. That's always a good one for me. My favorite thing to do in the comfort of my own room is ... Probably dance around and sing. An athlete I have a secret crush on is ... Kelly Slater. For many reasons. He's actually a very nice person, I've met him before. He's a nice guy, he's got great eyes, he surfs, he's healthy, you know, he's awesome. He's a champion. How about an entertainer? Robert Plant. I would freak out if I ever got to meet him. And name one surprise crush who most people wouldn't find particularly attractive. Borat! [Laughs] The whole package, man, he's got the whole package. He's a genius. If I could be anything but a model, I would be ... I really want to get involved in a charity with kids so anything I could do with that, I would dedicate my time to. Just helping kids. I've talked about it, and we're definitely going to adopt a baby sometime. I think if you have the means to, you can change someone's life. I think it's really important to do that. If I could be anywhere else in the world right now, I would be ... Nowhere. I am in Santa Cruz at my house. It's so crazy because when I crawled into bed last night, It's like no other bed I've ever slept in, its just ... I mean, it's just awesome. It's such a good feeling being home, I can't even describe it. I appreciate things here so much In a group of people, I'm always the first to ... Give everybody a hug [laughs]. I'm very affectionate. You know what's funny? I was at my cousin's bridal shower last weekend with my grandma and my little cousin, she's like 6-years-old, she's so loving, a little love-bug. My grandma goes, 'She reminds me so much of you, Marisa.' And I go, 'Why?' and she goes, 'You know what Cammie did? On the first day she lined up all the kids in the her kindergarten class, guys and girls, and gave everybody a hug, including the teacher.' And she's like, 'And that's you!' I'm just very affectionate. I give a lot of hugs. The worst lie I ever told was ... Probably being late for curfew, or something like that. My dad, man, he has three girls, so he really has to be on it. But he knew what we were going to do three steps before we did it, he was always on it. Curfew was a major, major deal and our curfew was so early, it was 10 p.m. He was like, 'Nothing's open after 10. Anything you're going to do after 10 is not going to be good, so that's why you've got to be home at 10.' And he was right. There was one time when I was late and it was not good. I had to come up with some excuse. Even now, disappointing my dad is the worst thing ever. I'm such a daddy's girl. I always want him to think a certain way about me, so if he's disappointed in me, its worse than any spanking. Just that look. To impress a cute man at a bar, I would ... It's got to be a natural. I think girls, we know it's hard for guys to approach girls. I think girls do their best to smile and show that there's an open door to make it a little easier. I wouldn't say I'm an aggressive person. If I'm interested, I would definitely let the person know, but I also am old fashioned in a way, I like when a guy comes up to you. I would always encourage it if I needed to, but I let them do it. The last time I saw a woman and thought 'I wish I looked like her' was ... There's a stylist I work with for Victoria's Secret, Linda. And she's an older woman, but I mean, when I'm her age I hope I look like her. I mean she has the sickest body. She always says to me, 'I used to look like you. I used to have your body when I was your age.' The one thing I'm superstitious about is ... No, I'm not really superstitious. I mean I definitely don't like when the 666 number comes up [laughs], I'm always like, 'Ooh, God.' If that's the total cost of something in any way I'll add something else. But I'm not really superstitious. My personal hero is ... My parents. They're still together after so many ... I don't want to say so many years, because they're still young, I mean, my mom's 50, so they're not old. I see how many marriages don't work out and my parents are just so cute. Last night I came into the house and they had a present for me because I got my first Victoria's Secret commercial, I shot on Monday. They got me a little congratulations present, and it was this really cute little Sony camera that's pink. I just thought it's so cute. They're my biggest cheerleaders and they've always been so supportive of me and my sisters. My sisters and I, since we've always had that love and support we've always been in a good place in our lives. I mean, we all go through rough times, but I don't know what I would do without my parents. I was thinking about how when you raise kids like that, it's a big responsibility, and my parents did a really, really good job. They were always there for my sisters and me. We always knew, no matter what, we had our parents. Unconditionally, they supported us, and it's still that way. They're just awesome. Do you have any sort of special connection with your hometown? My parents met in Santa Cruz. They met surfing at one of the local beaches here. I was just raised here and it's such a great environment because it's a simple lifestyle and there's a lot of real people. You can get away here, it's a good place for me to come home to. It's a good place to be raised. It's a very natural environment. We had horses and stuff like that, and the beach. It just brings me back to earth when I come back here. Where's the one place you have to go when you're in your hometown? I would say Palapas, the Mexican place down the street. First of all, its one of the best Mexican places I've ever been to. But it's just right on the beach and everybody's addicted to it. Everybody's always there on Friday and Saturday nights. It's that food I crave when I'm away. They have this Mexican chocolate ice cream from a local ice cream shop from here and it's just awesome. How do you feel about environmental issues such as global warming or pollution? I think it's really important. I think it's really good how everyone's becoming more aware. I think the main thing for me was going, 'What can I do?' And there are so many things you can do, like recycling. I think it's good that all this information is getting put out there. Everybody can feel like they're doing something and its not some huge issue that you can't do anything about. I think it's really important to be informed and to do what you can. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/features/...-miller/qa.html

Not that anyone will notice this after seeing stefkay's and jal's posts, but here goes: http://dailywd.womansday.com/blog/2008/02/...he-does-it.html How She Does It: Heidi Klum As a host of Bravo's Project Runway, Heidi Klum likes to remind us all that in the world of fashion, either you're in or you're out. But this supermodel and mother of two always finds heart disease, the number-one killer of American women, to be an "in" issue. Heidi, in a custom-made red silk Marc Jacobs dress, cascaded down the catwalk as part of the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's annual Heart Truth awareness campaign. And of course, "nothing draws attention like a little red dress," at least according to campaign ambassador First Lady Laura Bush. Heidi is also the new spokeswoman for Diet Coke's Red Dress Program to further lend her voice to the cause. I caught up with her after the show to discuss matters of the heart. Do you have any family history of heart disease? Heidi: I have no family history of heart disease, thankfully, but heart disease is still a personal issue and I believe as women we must all recognize our risk of developing the disease and learn to take action to safeguard our health. I love to show that as women we should support each other. I mean, I have children and want to be around for them, to see them grow up. What do you do day to day to keep heart healthy? Heidi: I take care of myself by being surrounded by good friends and positive-thinking people. I try not to drink so much and I don't smoke, because these behaviors significantly elevate your risk. Plus, I keep careful watch of my diet and exercise. And I make sure I slow down from time to time. As women, we're always multitasking. One minute we're making lunch, and the next second we're running the kids to school and folding the laundry. It's really great to stop women for a second and say, hey, we need to take care of ourselves, too! —Dana Gottesman

You've definitely hit on something. For years, Heidi has been their number 1 spokesman for fuller bras with Tyra before and now Marisa. If sales are down because their bras are crappy, they might be blaming it on Heidi and not on their crappy bras. (Not that it's her fault, but that their target audience no longer responds to her.) The thing is, 10 years ago when Heidi started, she was in their target demographic. Now, all the women she brought in to VS back then (which, might I add was when their popularity really surged) are now 10 years older and outside their target. But you'll notice, they used to have a "timeless beauty"-type sex appeal back then that appealed to older women, and now it's all teenage girly-girl "Pink" stuff, which isn't going to appeal to most women in their mid-30s and 40s that used to like their old ideal. Instead of maturing along with the core fan base that made them so popular in the first place, they skewed younger and put people off. (And started making crappy bras, apparently.) They really do need to attract the big boobed crowd, though, since studies have shown that average bust sizes are increasing.

Don't forget, she's now designing jeans for Jordache, plus her own jewelry, makeup, shoes and perfume and Germany's Next Top Model. I also think VS might be trying to target a younger audience with their whole "Pink" line and stuff and feel she might be too old, which is terrible if it's true. She's probably the most liked and certainly the most well-known Angel they got now. And she still has the body for it.
