Douglas John Booth (born 9 July 1992) is an English actor. Booth rose to prominence following his portrayal of Boy George in the BBC Two television drama Worried About the Boy. He has more recently appeared in Christopher and His Kind. He has been cast, opposite Hailee Steinfeld, in the role of Romeo in Carlo Carlei's upcoming film adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Booth was born in London, England, the son of Vivien, an artist, and a father who works in shipping for Citigroup. His father is of English descent and his mother is of half Spanish and half Dutch ancestry. In an interview with Vogue magazine, Booth reflected on his struggle with dyslexia, stating, "I struggled with dyslexia when I was young, so I knew that whatever I did it wouldn't be academic. Then playing Agamemnon - well, at the age of 12 - I thought 'I rather like being the centre of attention', this is where I want to be." As a model, Booth has appeared in several campaigns for the luxury English label Burberry, including those alongside Emma Watson and Lily Donaldson. He played the role of Pip in the BBC One adaptation of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations broadcast in December 2011. In June 2012, he was confirmed for the role of Shem in Darren Aronofsky's Noah.- Abercrombie & Fitch Male Models

Actor Theo James: 'Plastic Makes Me Sick' By Gerri Miller February 26, 2013 http://www.mnn.com "I try to use public transport, always. My obsession is plastic packaging. It makes me sick, all the waste. Everything about it disappoints me," says Theo James, star of the new CBS cop drama "Golden Boy." The set isn't as green as he'd like. "They do try and make an effort, but there is a lot of plastic packaging and forks and paper cups." The native of Oxford, England relocated to New York — and adopted an American accent — to play the "Golden Boy" titular star, a young man who has rapidly risen through the NYPD ranks to become the youngest Police Commissioner in history, and tells his story, seen in flashbacks, to a writer. "What I liked about this story is the development of a single, ruthless person," says James. "You see his journey. I think he comes from a very dark place. He's from a crime family and he had a choice whether or not to do that and he chose the other direction. He's smart. There was some abuse that went on and that fuels him. He wants to disassociate himself from that part of his life." James appeared in the movie "Underworld: Awakening" and the British series "Bedlam," but is best known for his brief appearance in season one of "Downton Abbey" as the doomed young Turk, Kemal Pamuk. "I had 20 minutes of screen time, having sex and dying. Rather salacious," he says. He hasn't seen the third season, but is a fan of the show. "I knew that it was going to be great." His "Golden Boy" liaisons are not lethal, but are noteworthy. "The main one happens toward the end of the season and that is a significant thing for him because he's a lone wolf. He opens up to this girl and it changes everything for him and not in a good way," he says of a relationship with a journalist. James, who'd actually considered becoming a cop post-college, took the immersion approach to playing a New York detective, working with a dialogue coach and speaking with an American accent from the moment he got in the van to ride to the set until he wrapped for the day. He found the Big Apple similar to London. "Six months in New York and I'm in love with the city and everything to do with it," he raves. If "Golden Boy," which premieres Feb. 26, is a hit, he might find himself playing the same role for years, which is "completely unheard of" in Britain. "Normally you do six episodes and it takes three months max. I obsessed with that a bit," he admits. "I thought, 'Am I signing my life away?' But if it's successful enough to run that long I shouldn't be complaining!"- Wet & Hot Models and Actors

5 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT GLEB SHAVENKO BY DAVHI SHIRA 4/2/2013 http://www.people.comRead on to learn five things about the sexy, Russian, 6"1' animal lover, including what he thinks of Vanderpump, partying and making his private life public. 1. Despite Vanderpump's lavish lifestyle, he calls her down-to-earth and humble "Lisa is a very kind person with a great sense of humor," Savchenko, 30, tells PEOPLE of ourDWTS blogger. "She's a very hard worker. She's just an awesome person. I knew who she was from Housewives ... but I didn't really know what kind of personality she had and everything. What's shown on TV is one thing ... [but] she's a normal person and she's really easy to work with. We just have a good time. She's open to everything when it comes to choreography. We developed a connection from the very first day." 2. He's a private person "I've been married for six years, but it's just something I'm not really talking about that much," Savchenko says of wife, Elena Samadanova who is also a dancer (but isn't on DWTS). "If someone asks me, I'll say, 'Yes, I am [married],' because I don't want to lie. I want to be honest, but it's not something I'll just go and talk on every single corner about. But I'm very happy." 3. He's been independent since his mid-teens "I have a sister who lives in Italy," Savchenko says. "My father and mother are originally from Russia and live in the Ukraine at the moment. I left home when I was 16. I lived by myself and supported myself. Nobody really helped me. I got used to it. I'm very close to my family, but it's not like I miss them or really attached to them." 4. Going out isn't one of his priorities "I'm not really a party person," Savchenko said, while mentioning that a passerby next to him laughed when they overheard him explaining his laid back lifestyle. "I like to have a good sleep because we're dancing all day and we start early in the morning. I like to live a healthy life. I like to go to the gym and the beach. I like to get a suntan and lay by the pool. I don't really drink alcohol that much. I'm telling the truth." 5. He loves everything about Los Angeles – even the traffic "L.A. is my favorite place in America," he says. "You can't beat the weather. It's not a city with a lot of tall, concrete buildings and everything just kind of in one place. You can see the blue sky and you have fresh air." Adds the ballroom expert, explaining that he's currently on the hunt for a Ford or Dodge vehicle, "I love driving. You can drive everywhere in L.A. People say, 'Oh, your life is terrible, there's traffic.' But I'm from Moscow originally, and to get from one place to another place can take two-and-a-half hours. It's actually really bad traffic, so I feel like in L.A., there's no traffic. It's easy. I just love this city."- Gleb Savchenko

5 QUESTIONS WITH ANOTHER FALLEN GILBERT. TVD'S STEVEN MCQUEEN BY DIO ANTHONY MARCH 28, 2013 http://belloblog.com Steven McQueen is the latest lead character to meet his demise in The CW’s supernatural series,The Vampire Diaries. Fans nationwide are still mourning the loss of Elena’s beloved brother turned dead-people seer, a la sixth sense…turned vampire hunter…turned..well..dead. Forealz this time, y’all. Check out what Steven had to say about Mystic Fall’s latest tragedy. 1. Did you see this coming or was it a shocker as well to you? “They told me I was going to have a desire to kill the main character, my sister Elena, and so I figured that that would cause some trouble.” 2. Do you see Jeremy coming back? Someway, somehow? “Umm, I hope so, maybe in a flashback or somethin’. But they burnt my body so..I think that’s pretty much getting rid of somebody. Light them on fire.It wasn’t until it aired that I was like aww man, this sucks. The cool thing is that everyone on twitter tweeted me and I actually got offered a job that day my death episode aired.” 3. So it hadn’t registered until you saw the episode? When I read it [the script] I was like okay…they’re burning my body. Trying to think of some magical way that I can come back to life, but maybe I’ll be a zombie, like Frankenstein or somethin’. 4. Was there anything you would’ve liked to see Jeremy do? Or maybe anything you would’ve liked to take on as an actor with him? The first couple of seasons Jeremy was kind of a wimp. With the last one they kind of had him fighting vampires and manning up a little bit. That was a lot of fun to play. I would’ve loved to see Jeremy in a motorcycle though. They gave Paul Wesley one! 5. Your character was written in the script to begin with. He wasn’t in the books. Was this always in the back of your mind, regarding your fate on the show? “Did I always have that I’m a four-year-old girl named Margaret in the back of my head? There were some days! [laughs].”- Wet & Hot Models and Actors
