it's not brand new, but it's not all that old, either. if you go to gettyimages and search "karolina kurkova richard branson" there are a TON of pics from this event, which was a special promotional event celebrating Virgin Airlines 25th Anniversary. Branson and KK played this whole scene like he was James Bond and she was the villain. They arrived by boat, with KK in handcuffs and a mask and then she escaped and such. haha. omg, Saudade!! you are making me LIIIIVE with these runway videos!!! i cannot thank you enough for posting them and especially for taking the time to note when KK makes her appearance. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! the s/s 2001 shows are so interesting, because it would've taken place in fall of 2000, when she was just 16 years old. such a baby!! and her face is such a baby face! and she was still a bit awkward in her walk. it was still great, obviously, but not the smooth, graceful strut she mastered by the s/s 2002 shows. and those scrawny, spindly, spaghetti stick legs are hilarious! haha. she's just soooo young!! wow. such a treat to see! please post more as you find them! so fun to watch!

ooooohhhweeeeee!!!! thanks, PinkCouture!! just watched the episode. Naomi is RUTHLESS. truth be told, i actually prefer Stephanie to Madeleine, as well. but only in video and on the show. in photos her inexperience really shows through and it's evident that she's the weaker link. Madeleine is pretty but pretty forgettable. however she always delivers in her photoshoots. so she's the more learned model. but she doesn't have that *spark* that Stephanie has. either way - Naomi, in her own words, says that she chose to keep Stephanie BECAUSE she was the "weaker girl" and thus easier competition. hahaa. she's a tyrant!! i love this show. KK needs to stop playing so nice, though. she needs to be more firm and get a bit of a backbone when it comes to leading the campaign shoots and also when talking with Naomi or Coco. but, then again - she IS a lovely person. that's just her nature. and that's part of why we all love her so much. so mayhaps it's best that she stays the way she is. stays true to herself. i feel like clearly someone on Team Naomi is going to win. each time they have one of these campaigns, you can tell that the representatives for the company are themselves completely intimidated by her. haha.

that hair is a DISASTER. omg. love the makeup, though! and the dress is okay... not her best showing, unfortunately. usually she knocks it out of the park at the Vanity Fair party.

she's been this same size basically since right after she had Tobin. for at least 2 or 3 years now. so ... i think this is her size. i'm sure she eats healthily and keeps herself fit. yeah, i agree -- i think she'd look her best even just with about 5 or 10 more pounds on. but this is the weight she's been at for a while now. i think it's gonna stay. she still looks amazing to me!

well i thank you both VERY much for your hard work scanning the magazine and providing the rest of us with all the pics. much much appreciation!! the issue itself, though.... i just feel like they've lost SO much of the exotic, mysterious sensuality of the magazine as it was years ago. i mean -- ENDLESS pics from the thighs up?! it might as well be a cheap Maxim shoot or any swimsuit catalogue photoshoot. the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is supposed to be THE most significant magazine of it's kind each year. and yet the photography in this issue feels utterly lackluster. it hasn't been all that good for years, if i'm honest - but each year i come back to check it out in hopes that it gets better! think back to the amazing location pics of Laetitia Casta and Rebecca Romijn in Africa. Or of Karen Mulder in the south of France. or Sarah O'Hare in all her gorgeous bronzed glory just subtly covered in sand. or Heidi Klum in Argentina, or Stacey Williams in Mexico. I mean, those are the first examples popping into my head, but none of them are all that long ago. and the photography then felt like it was SO much more significant than now. i am disappointed. i don't even fault the models; most of the women they selected are absurdly beautiful, with gorgeous healthy bodies that are perfect for showing off bikinis. it's the photographers. it all just looks so ... TIRED. so DONE. and leaves me feeling decidedly OVER IT. if i were in charge i'd fire all of them. i'd look for photographers that can actually set a tone, set a mood for a shoot. photographers that can get something real and raw and natural and powerful instead of this cheap looking catalogue shit.

her boobs look hilariously large. i know she's got some cleavage ... but this is like next level photoshop stuff. haha. her boobs are literally LARGER than her head in that photo!! haha. either way - i knew that Kate would get the cover. it's a no-brainer, really. i love Anne V, but she's been doing the magazine for about a decade and they haven't given her the cover yet, so why would they now? she doesn't have 10% of the fame and popularity that Kate Upton does. nor sales potential, clearly.

i don't think so, chocolate. i feel like KK is looking much the same as she has for the past couple of years now. after she gave birth, she just dropped all the baby weight and got back to the same size as she was 10 years ago. i think we all prefer a little bit more boobs and curves to her. but she looks stunning, imo.

i don't think she was actually tanned. these pics are photoshopped to such an extreme that they're more like paintings. reminds me of those Missoni ads with Gisele years ago. this is fairly typical of Sgura photos though, i think. but - regardless of the absurd photoshopping, i think KK is SERVING IT in these pics! and i'm happy for her that she's landed another major campaign!
