  7. BRITISH VOGUE - APRIL 2013 Photographer: David Sims Stylist: Joe McKenna Hair: Paul Hanlon Makeup: Diane Kendal Edie Campbell Makes Her Vogue Cover Debut Edie Campbell has landed her first ever Vogue cover. The 22-year-old British model, famed for her Sixties style, was photographed by David Sims for the April issue. "Vogue was the magazine that growing up that you really looked at," Campbell told us. "It has always been aspirational. It's such a farce that I'm on the cover. I remember looking at the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley March 2011 cover thinking, 'I want to look like that.' That hasn't happened yet, but here I am on the front of the magazine. It's bizarre and so flattering. I mean, why pick me? It's just ridiculous." "It was like working with a dream team," said Campbell of the shoot. "Joe's styling really is the bomb. It felt like getting ready to go out when I was 17. You're listening to music, getting dressed up and all of a sudden your make-up looks really good and you feel so good. I'm sure that sounds like a bad comparison, but I mean it in the best way. It was an all-day fun day." Campbell has appeared in Vogue on several occasions - including in December’s pop issue when she was given the arduous task of shooting with One Direction. Landing her debut cover though feels like somewhat of a milestone. "This time, it felt more serious," she said. "Joe's styling is high-brow, which I quite like. That purist approach really appealed to me. It felt like the next step." from vogue.co.uk - 6 March 2013
  8. 'DAVID BOWIE IS' EXHIBITION AT THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM - 20 MARCH 2013 I just realized something: I think Edie Campbell, whose chopped locks I wrote about in my March column, single-handedly inspired the hair at both Marc Jacob’s shows, for his eponymous line and his gig at Louis Vuitton. Look at that closely shorn raven-black ‘do. This week Edie proved she’s more than a hair muse when she turned up in this quirky, retro-inspired Gucci ensemble for the opening of the David Bowie retrospective at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. A fishnet weave with palazzo pants? I think Bowie himself would have approved. from harpersbazaar.com by Derek Blasberg

  10. BRITISH VOGUE - 11 MARCH 2013 Edie Campbell Paris Fashion Week Diary VOGUE cover girl Edie Campbell had a busy Paris Fashion Week this season, walking the catwalk at some of the week's biggest shows - Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney and Sacai. In between fittings and walk throughs, she kept a photo diary to show what it's really like at the shows - from the labels with the best catering (ham at Saint Laurent, croissants at Chanel), to the perils of Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton set. March 3 2013 [1] My favourite fashion couple - Vogue's Fran Burns and Angelo Pennetta, keeping me company on the Eurostar. After arriving in Paris, I go to fittings for Stella McCartney, Chanel, Valentino, Saint Laurent and Sacai. All very jolly and sunny. [2] At my Chanel fitting, wondering if anyone would notice if I nicked a Chanel riding hat. Decided against it. March 4 2013 [3] After three hours of sleep, I've got a 7am call time for the Stella show in a suitably grand location - the Opera. One model has been hit by a stomach bug and is uncontrollably vomiting, so I spend my time dodging make-up brushes that might have been used on her. Not normally a hypochondriac, but have a terrible visions of being struck down with the same thing and projectile vomiting on the catwalk. Not chic. [4] My look at Stella. [5] Speediest mode of transport ever! Sunny motorbike ride across Paris to the Sacai show. After spending about five minutes in hair and make-up, I have a quick look at the floor plan of where I'm meant to be going on the catwalk, which looked to me like the kind of scribble you might draw on an Etch A Sketch. Anyway, I pretend to understand it, and I'm thrown out onto the catwalk like a confused baby, walk in lots of circles, and then about five minutes later I'm out on the street again clutching a glass of slightly warm Champagne at midday. [6] Take the Metro over to my McQueen fitting, where I find Julia Nobis, my favourite Australian, sporting a particularly fetching wig. [7] The cages each girl wore at the McQueen show. My look at McQueen seemed to take hours to get done, with layers of corsets and undershirts and waist-cinchers and other things that haven't been seen since the 19th Century. The complexity of the whole outfit is mind boggling. [8] My look at the Saint Laurent show, one of my favourite shows because it's so relaxed and the music is always great and I'm actually encouraged to slump down the runway like a boy. [9] Saskia and I backstage at Saint Laurent before the show. There's an after show party with delicious mojitos, a whole leg of ham and a vat of tortellini. It's quite obvious why this is my favourite show. Then to my midnight fitting at Vuitton, and another three hours of sleep before Chanel. March 5 2013 [10] All the models at the Chanel rehearsal, standing in front of the globe. Chanel is another of my favourite shows, once again because of the food. About a million mini-croissants later (#yolo), it's show time. [11] Saskia limbering up for the show, with Cara's help. [12] I walk over to the next show of the day - Valentino. I'm quite tired and delirious by this point, hence this photo. I get a full head of long black extensions and look a lot like Morticia Addams. We're told to walk serenely, which always takes me back to age six when my mum refused to let me go to ballet classes because she said I danced like an elephant wearing platform boots. Hopefully I have acquired some gracefulness since then. [13] My bag at Valentino has my initials embossed on it which is very sweet. [14] Julia, Vanessa and Esther in the model bus heading from Valentino over to McQueen [15] The McQueen show was ten outfits and five pairs of looks - twin angels, popes, cardinals, communion gowns. This is me and Tilda, my twin evil nun. There are three shows at 30 minute intervals and we can't sit down or take layers off in between. Once again, I try and look serene whilst being painfully aware of my elephant-ballet history. [16] Julia looking angelic in between shows. March 6 2013 [17] Me in my look at the Vuitton show. I was meant to be opening the show, but when my light flashed green to tell me to open my door onto the catwalk, the door jammed and so I was left frantically rattling the door and cut my knuckles in my panic, so when I eventually had the clarity of mind to stumble out through someone else's door I was red faced, sweaty and had blood trickling down my fingers. Grrrreat one. And then I got on the Eurostar and went home and slept for two days!
