Posted April 11, 200718 yr Samantha Lee Winward (born October 12, 1985, in Bolton, Greater Manchester) is an English actress, singer and model who attended Bolton's Turton Media and Arts College in Bromley Cross. She is best known for playing Katie Sugden on the soap opera Emmerdale. Winward previously dated her Emmerdale co-star, Kelvin Fletcher, and later got engaged to footballer David Dunn. She gave birth to their daughter, Mia, at home in Bolton on June 12, 2005. Sammy and David later split in September of that year, but remain friends. Sammy now lives at home with her parents who are helping her with baby Mia, and is reported to be dating rugby player, David Mercer . She also appeared in the ITV celebrity talent show Soapstar Superstar. In 2006 she appeared on the Orange Playlist. Here she explained that she was training to be a ballerina before being picked by her agent Ruth Young to attend the Emmerdale audition.
