Priyanka shoots non-stop for 21 hours!

Meanwhile, Piggy Chopra we hear created a new world record of sorts by shooting non-stop for 21 hours for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion.

We hear that before flying off for Tarun Mansukhani’s film Dostana in Miami, she shot non-stop for Madhur’s Fashion and completed a major portion of it. “We started the shot at 5 am and it went on till the next morning, non-stop, everyone was exhausted but Priyanka was extremely professional, she didn’t complain or throw tantrums even once,” says a unit member.

Madhur too confirms the news and says, “Yes, Priyanka was very professional. When she saw that I was not well and inspite of that I was on the sets, 24*7, she just gave in,” he laughs. Let’s hope the Guinness world record guys are reading this!

Priyanka Chopra not starving herself for 'Fashion'

Mumbai, (IANS) Priyanka Chopra rebuffs rumours that she has lost weight to play a model in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion'.

'It's the silliest story I've heard about myself in a long time.... on a par with the one about me being in Sydney with Harman Baweja for the New Year when I was actually shooting an ad in Bangkok,' Priyanka told IANS.

'No, nobody has told me to do anything for the role in 'Fashion'. Madhur Bhandarkar and I share great rapport. He didn't ask me to lose weight for the character,' she added.

However, Priyanka has worked on herself for her next two roles as well.

'I always like to work on my character. That's why I work on one film at a time. For 'Fashion' I opted for a toned body. I went on a health-conscious diet, though I didn't cut down on my food or anything. And I'll be using the same physique for my film with Karan Johar,' she said.

'It's set on the beach of Miami. Imagine two months on the sun and sand and so the toned body would be just what the dietician ordered. But, sorry, I don't get into a bikini for Karan's film,' Priyanka was firm.

Karan's film also features Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.

Priyanka says she doesn't endorse anorexic figures.

'It isn't about getting thin at all. It's just about toning my body. I don't think you need to be reed-thin to be beautiful. I think Indian women look terrible when they try to get anorexic. We (Indian women) are naturally healthy. And by that I don't mean voluptuous,' she says.

'But, yes, we've been given a certain kind of figure. We're well proportioned and aesthetically endowed in all the right places. And by getting exceptionally thin, we're going against nature.'

Told that her co-star Kangana Ranaut is inherently reed-slim, Priyanka laughed: 'Yes, but she loves her food. She just has her own individual body type. Kangana and I share plenty of health tips. We got along really well. I really think she's sweet.

'When Madhur decided to cast Kangana, I was so happy. She really suits her part. So, the other story that really bugs is that we're fighting over scenes in 'Fashion'. On the contrary we've a lot of fun together.'

Priyanka patches up with Salman

If sources are to be believed Priyanka Chopra will be part of Anil Sharma’s forthcoming film Veer . Interestingly Salman Khan who shared cold vibes with Priyanka will be seen together once again as lead pair after their last release film Salam-E-Ishq.

According to our source Slaman, who was miffed with Priyanka had decided not to work with her after Salam-E –Ishaq . But Priyanka who wanted a reconciliation with Salman, tried hard. Reportedly she also wanted to be part of Sohail Khan’s Mr And Mrs Khanna but Salman who didn’t wish to work with her, selected Kareena Kapoor for it.

Apparently Priyanka who started her career with Anil Sharma’s Hero always wanted to be a part of his films. It is believed that when she heard the story of Veer , she expressed her desire to be part of it.

However she had a meeting with director Anil Sharma who has agreed to take her in lead. A source reveals that “Priyanka met Salman last week at his Galaxy apartment to solve the problems between them. However, Salman who is known to be big hearted man has agreed to work with her. Priyanka will be doing the female lead in the film.”

When we quizzed Anil Sharma he said, “I haven’t signed her yet but Priyanka is family so whenever we want she will be part of our project. I am still working on the script. As of now I can say that Salman will be seen in main lead but we are yet to decide about the leading lady.”

Veer ’s story has been written by Salman Khan. Anil Sharma’s inhouse writer Shaktiman is writing its script. He further adds that Veer is a period drama set in the year 1852 to 1900. “ Veer will be Salman’s first period film, where he will be sporting a complete different look. I have told him to lose weight thus he is working on his body to get a specific look that is required for his character.”

It is also believed that Veer is going to a huge project which will commence in July.

Donate organs and live for eternity: Priyanka

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra today pledged to donate her organs, and said “one should understand the importance of organ donation because one lives for eternity.”

“I was here because the function was organised by the Army Medical Corps and I am a child of an Army personnel,” Priyanka said on the sidelines of the conference of Indian National Association for Study of Liver (INSAL) organised this year by the Army Medical Corps here.

She said that she realised the importance of organ donation when her father was ill.

Priyanka said organ donation could be scary for people who dont have knowledge about its benefits, and added that donors are unsung heroes even after their death.

Chief Guest Union Defence Minister A K Antony lauded the efforts of Armed Forces for leading the way in organ donation, and wished them success in their future endeavour.

The Armed Forces Organ Retrieval and Transplant Authority (AORTA) has shown the way in organ donation, even in medico-legal cases, Antony said.

“The fast changes in the life style is leading to increase in liver diseases. I am happy to note that liver specialist from all over India have gathered here to discuss these issues,” the Defence Minister said.

Antony appreciated medical fraternity for its efforts to treat patients suffering from liver related diseases and research in the field.

Former cricketer and Member of Parliament Navjot Singh Sidhu also pledged to donate his organs.

When asked whether other MPs will also donate their organs, Sidhu said that he knows about himself, adding that if parliamentarians were here they would have surely donated their organs.

The AORTA has even managed to get over 1,000 people to pledge their organs through an extensive publicity programme within the Armed Forces.

“Even in grief you can help,” reads a small board at the Intensive Care Unit of six Army hospitals across the country, urging relatives to donate organs of their dear departed to help others.

The “board with a silver lining”, as it is referred to by transplantation experts of the Armed Forces, invariably draws the attention of those waiting for that final confirmation of loss from doctors.

Till now, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, former Miss India Nikita Anand and Gul Panag, and many army officers had already pledged their organs for donation. (ANI)

Saif and Priyanka in Voice From the Sky

For his new film, Voice From the Sky, director Farhan Akhtar has signed a very impressive cast; the hero will be played by Saif Ali Khan and the heroine by Priyanka Chopra. The story will revolve around a little boy and is not going to be your standard fare. It will have no songs; will be both in Hindi and English and the time period for the film will be when the use of the telephone first came into existence.

Farhan has been working on the script for quiet awhile and said, “I began scripting Voice From The Sky right after Dil Chahta Hai. It has been with me since 2002-2003."

About casting Saif he said, “I thought of Irrfan for the lead. But then Saif seemed a more natural choice. He's apt for the character. After Dil Chahta Hai, we wanted to work together. We did come close to working together in my sister Zoya's film. Finally, Voice From The Sky turned out to be the right movie."

Adding, “I first spoke to Saif about this movie a year ago. At that point of time, he wasn't clear about whether he'd be able to do it. Then one day, out of the blue, he called me and said he can't stop thinking about the script. After that we made an effort to accommodate each other. The project will take off at the end of the year.”

He is excited about signing Priyanka as well, “She is hassle-free and, according to me, still has lots of untapped potential. Her role in Voice From The Sky is very different from whatever she has done so far. It's primarily the story of a little boy. Priyanka and Saif are the two people who come into his life. I'm really looking forward to working with Priyanka and Saif after Don and Dil Chahta Hai.”

Enthusiastic about the jodi of Saif and Priyanka he added, “Of course, they make a difference. We certainly get more eyeballs.”

Since he has the hero and heroine his next search will be for the child artiste to play the little boy, “Now that I've Saif and Priyanka in place, I can start looking for the boy. It would've been terrible to find him and then not be able to make the film.”
