Juventus senior players resist Cannavaro return

There is resistance from inside the Juventus dressing room over the prospect of Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro returning before the start of the season.

Corriere dello Sport says while Juve directors would welcome their former captain back to Turin, the same cannot be said of senior players.

Many are unhappy with reports that Juve are in talks with Real about re-signing Cannavaro after the way he jumped ship last summer while the likes of Gigi Buffon, Pavel Nedved and Alessandro del Piero chose to stay and fight to lift the club back into Serie A.
