Barca stars want Ronaldo at Camp Nou

Barcelona stars Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o have said they would like the club to sign Real Madrid striker Ronaldo in the January transfer window, but president Joan Laporta said he has "no intention" of adding to the Blaugrana's squad.

The striker, a team-mate of Ronaldinho for the Brazil national team, is currently struggling to get into the Madrid side.

"It would be a great joy to return to play with [Ronaldo]," said Ronaldinho, who is in relative poor form himself. "He is one of the best strikers in history.

"We could change his current situation. When he plays, football is a lot more beautiful."

Eto'o, who is out for several months, revealed that he hopes "to begin touching a ball again in three weeks", and expressed his hope that the Catalan club can re-sign its former star.

"Ronaldo is a great player," Eto'o said. "It would be very good for us [to sign him]."

However, Laporta - who had presided over Barcelona's great success in the last two years - insisted that there would not be a stunning return for Ronaldo, nor would he bid for anyone else in the New Year.

Ronaldinho - who changed his name from Ronaldo at the beginning of his career to avoid confusion with his friend - also said that he hopes for another winning campaign for underperforming Barca.

"All the [Liga] teams are very good physically this season, and this is hard for us to deal with. But I have confidence in myself and the team that we can have another great season."
