Finally some news... thanks Rainyday!

Hi everyone! Thanks to everyone for all the latest Bar pics, videos and links. According to a press release by a group called "Montblanc Signature for good" Bar attended their benefit for UNICEF last night. There aren't any photos of Bar available but hopefully there will be soon.

Special guests taking to the stage to show their support for the charity initiative included Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor and guest of honor Reese Witherspoon who presented an initial check to UNICEF in support of this initiative. Other VIP guests attending the charity gala included Melanie Griffith, Antonio Banderas, Faye Dunaway, Joan Collins, Nastassja Kinski, Cat Deeley, Bar Rafaeli, Rosanna Arquette, Dita von Teese, Rosario Dawson, Michael Sheen, Michael York, Ashley Jensen, Kimberly Stewart, Nicky Hilton, Oliver Stone, Danny Houston, Elsa Zylberstein and Lily Collins.

In ridicoulous news the country of Dubai has pulled the SI swimsuit issues from their magazine racks because the cover girl Bar is from Israel (Gasp!). That's so stupid! I'm sure that the male population of Dubai will find a way to get their hands on those issues somehow. LOL!

In yet another egregious instance of Arab men cutting off their noses to spite their faces, copies of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue featuring Israel's stunning Bar Refaeli on the cover have been removed from Dubai magazine racks.

In lighter news; Does this woman have inside information on the Oscar guest list? I don't think she does but I hope she's right about Bar being there but we'll shall see.

Thanks so much shellars for providing the link to the interfaith interview with Bar and her father. It's obvious from the interview that Bar's father doesn't care if her future husband is Jewish. My friend the Leo fan told me that the man who claims that Bar's father told him that is a publicity hound. This guy Aaron Braunstein got interviewed by Star magazine when Leo visited Israel two years ago. Mr. Braunstein reportedly said he spoke to Leo in Jerusalem (how convienient!). According to Mr. Braunstein he told Leo that visiting a girl's parents means that the relationship is serious and one that might lead to marriage which Leo responded "Sure sounds like it." I'm paraphrasing because this is what my friend remembers of that article.

Mr. Braunstein is the father of an actress named Natasha Lyonne. I'm not familiar with her work but she's the same age as Leo so it's a possibility that her father knew him but this guy sounds suspicious. Mr. Braunstein is a promoter who has a future international boxing event coming up and he just happens to mention Bar's father talking about Leo right after Bar gets named as the SI cover girl. What a coincidence, not! Unfortunately the media around the world have picked up on this story, including the Israeli media. It's shameful that this individual is using Bar and her family for publicity. What a loser!

Wasn't Bar looking fabulous on Ellen or what..??? It was obvious that she wanted to have fun on the show and she did a great cute little interview! Now, the ladies (and guys) who watch these TV daytime talkshows will have a better idea of what DiCaprio's gorgeous girlfriend really looks like and what a nice personality she has!

Thanks rainyday for the news on Bar's attendance at the MontBlanc charity event! I wish we had pictures of her... I bet she looked gorgeous, as always!

um, KerryLynn - supposedly (and you know we never know if he even said such a thing cause it came from NY daily news gossip section and it wasnt even a direct quote) he said he didnt want any PAPARAZZI photos of him and Bar together. That's different from him and Bar together being photographed by professional photographers at a special event like the Oscars. Totally different. And he doesnt want paparazzis cause of they way they act to get photos, but he's fine with posing for (and Im sure when the time comes) photographers who are invited to the red carpet. After all, he did go to the Oscars with Giz - he doesnt do something he doesnt want to do, so that was a decision on his part to take her. I'm not even sure if that's really true that he absolutely wont allow photos of him and Bar together by paps because after all , we've seen a number of them together taken by paps, I mean it's not like he's paranoid about it.

Bar and Leo at the Night Before Oscar Party

Although Brad’s ladies didn’t show, there was no shortage of celebrities at the event. Leonardo DiCaprio sat at a table with model girlfriend Bar Rafaeli and chatted with pal and Entourage star Kevin Connolly. Although Bar just graced the cover of Sports Illustrated in a teeny-weeny bikini, she certainly doesn’t starve herself to get her sleek figure. Bar was eating like she hadn’t eaten in weeks. The leggy model had almost one of every gourmet dish served at the bash — rapidly poking her fork into each dish and shoving heaping servings of food into her mouth.

In addition to Leo and crew, guests like John Malkovich wandered around the glamorous outdoor bash at the hotel’s pool area, which was covered for the party. Major Hollywood power players like Jeffrey Katzenberg and Harvey Weinstein discussed upcoming projects while Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett cracked jokes. At one point Amy practically wailed at something that Tina said. (Apparently, she’s hilarious off-screen as well as on.)

Although the party had plenty of star power, it was remarkably more low key than last year’s event. No gift bags were handed out and decorations were pared down. The invitation noted “casual attire.” Most men showed up in sport coats or collared shirts, but the women still opted for elegant dresses.
