Today’s results are in!

Group 18

Vendela Kirsebom (83.3%) defeated Ana Paula Lemes (16.7%)

Kristy Hinze (87.5%) defeated Brandi Quinones (12.5%)

Group 19

Ashley Richardson (70.6%) defeated Yasmin Brunet (29.4%)

Malia Jones (81.3%) defeated Noemie Lenoir (18.7%)

Group 20

Rachel Hunter (94.1%) defeated Charissa Craig (5.9%)

Natasha Barnard (100.0%) defeated Turia Mau (0.0%)

My spin:

In Group 20, Natasha Barnard became the 15th model to post a clean sheet in this year’s tournament, but it had been nearly 100 matches since the last clean sheet (by Aurelie Claudel over Paula Warner.)  In the same group, Rachel Hunter steamrolled Charissa Craig, which will setup a showdown for first place between Natasha and Rachel.  Both models have had an easy time with their overmatched competition this year, as both have scored over 90% of the vote in each of their matches.

In Group 19, Ashley Richardson took control with a win and a loss by Noemie Lenoir.  Ashley has just about wrapped up first place in the group with this result.  She’d have to lose her final match against Noemie by a very wide margin to lose her grip on first place.

Finally, in Group 18, Vendela Kirsebom and Kristy Hinze rolled again to setup yet another showdown for first place.  They’ll play each other in the final round robin cycle, and the winner gets first place.

Today’s results are in!

Group 21

Nina Agdal (86.2%) defeated Chanel Iman (13.8%)

Kate James (94.7%) defeated Sabrina Barnett (5.3%)

Group 22

Elsa Benitez (54.5%) defeated Aline Nakashima (45.5%)

Michelle Alves (84.2%) defeated Sarah Nursey (15.8%)

Group 23

Stacey Williams (91.3%) defeated Ann Peterson (8.7%)

Monika Schnarre (80.0%) defeated Dayle Haddon (20.0%)

My spin:

The incredibly hot Nina Agdal became the first model to clinch first place in her group, as she easily defeated Chanel Iman to take the Group 21 title.  Nina will be slotted into the Knockout Stage bracket and will take on the winner of Group 35, which looks like a three-way race between Kate Bock, Shannan Click, and Esti Ginzburg.

In Group 22, upstart Aline Nakashima nearly pulled off the upset over #22 Elsa Benitez, but she came up just short and finished the Group Stage at 3-1.  That showing will probably be good enough to advance as a wild card.  Meanwhile, Elsa will wrap up first place with a win in her final match; a match in which she’ll be a heavy favorite.

In Group 23, Stacey Williams is in control, and only Monika Schnarre can mathematically catch Stacey.  Realistically, though, this one is sealed up, too, because Stacey would have to lose her final match against a low-ranked model by a huge margin.  But, we won’t put Stacey in the Knockout Stage bracket yet… she hasn’t officially clinched!  :)

Today’s results are in!

Group 24

Emily Ratajkowski (65.6%) defeated Tyra Banks (34.4%)

Tori Praver and Hannah Ferguson DREW (50.0%-50.0%)

Group 25

Chrissy Teigen (80.8%) defeated Kara Young (19.2%)

Julie Henderson (75.0%) defeated Karen Mulder (25.0%)

Group 26

Judit Masco (61.5%) defeated Michelle Vawer (38.5%)

Jessica Van Der Steen (75.0%) defeated Renee Simonsen (25.0%)

My spin:

Emily Ratajkowski became the second model to clinch first place with her win over Tyra Banks. Emily finishes the Group Stage at 4-0 in the “Group of Death”, which is very impressive. She’ll face the winner of Group 34 in her first Knockout Stage match, which right now looks like either Fernanda Motta or Eva Herzigova. Also in Group 24, we had our 6th draw of the tournament, as Tori Praver and Hannah Ferguson could not be separated. Because of Emily’s clinch, Tori and Hannah are fighting for a wild card spot, and this result may hurt both of them. They are tied in the group table, and amazingly they are separated by one-tenth of a percentage point in the tiebreaker (total vote percentage).  It will be an interesting finish in Group 24.

In Group 25, Chrissy Teigen has rebounded with two straight wins after her opening match loss to Julie Henderson, and Julie rebounded after a loss in her last match to knock off group leader Karen Mulder. Now, the group is completely up in the air, with a four-way tie for first place. Of those, only three can win first place, though, because Kara Young’s hope was dashed with her loss to Chrissy. So, it’s a fight for first between Julie, Chrissy, and Karen.

Finally, in Group 26, Judit Masco improved to 3-0 and took control of the group with her win and Renee Simonsen’s loss. Judit and Renee face off in the final match of this group, and Renee would have to beat Judit by almost an 80%-20% margin in order to take first place. That’s unlikely, but we’ll see what happens.

Today’s results are in!

Group 27

Carol Alt (82.4%) defeated Louise Forsling (17.6%)

Carolyn Murphy (59.1%) defeated Ariel Meredith (40.9%)

Group 28

Kim Alexis (66.7%) defeated Monica Bellucci (33.3%)

Hilary Rhoda (66.7%) defeated Libby Otis (33.3%)

Group 29

Daniella Sarahyba (88.0%) defeated Jean Pelton (12.0%)

Isabeli Fontana (84.0%) defeated Lana Ogilvie (16.0%)

My spin:

Group 27 and Group 28 will both come down to a showdown for first place in the final round robin cycle. In Group 27, Carol Alt and Carolyn Murphy will fight it out, and it Group 28, it’ll be Hilary Rhoda versus Kim Alexis.  The winner of these matches advances and gets a first round bye, while the loser leaves their fate up to the wild card selections.

In Group 29, Daniella Sarahyba and Isabeli Fontana remain tied atop the division, but they have already faced one another - to a draw! With both heavy favorites to win their final match, it looks like it will come down to a tiebreaker to determine which of them gets first place in the group.

Today’s results are in!

Group 30

Cintia Dicker (87.0%) defeated Babette March (13.0%)

Estelle Lefebure (94.7%) defeated Tannia Rubiano (5.3%)

Group 31

Chandra North (100.0%) defeated Kadra Ahmed Omar (0.0%)

Alyssa Miller (62.5%) defeated Amber Smith (37.5%)

Group 32

Vanessa Lorenzo (57.1%) defeated Jessica White (42.9%)

Sue Peterson (57.1%) defeated Sheila Roscoe (42.9%)

My spin:

Chandra North earned the 16th clean sheet of the tournament, blanking Kadra Ahmed Omar. Despite that, Alyssa Miller remained ahead of Chandra in the group table, as she beat Amber Smith to take control of the group. As of now, Chandra actually has a greater vote percentage than Alyssa, so she has a chance. But, she would need a very unlikely result to occur in the final round robin, as Alyssa would need to lose to Kathryn Redding. In addition, Chandra still has a tough match against Amber Smith remaining, which makes first place all the more unlikely.

In Group 32, Vanessa Lorenzo became the 3rd model to clinch first place in her group with a victory over Jessica White. Jessica has been one of the biggest disappointments of the tournament, winning only one of three matches so far, including a shocking draw with Sue Peterson. Vanessa will move on to the Knockout Stage to face the winner of Group 47 - likely either Sara Sampaio or Selita Ebanks.

Finally, in Group 30, the one who started it all, Babette March, finished off her 2014 tournament with a loss to the red-hot redhead Cintia Dicker. Cintia hasn’t quite mathematically clinched first place yet, so we won’t add her to the bracket. But, it would take an extremely unlikely event to prevent her from claiming first place.

Group 33

Jenna de Rosnay (78.9%) defeated Caprice Bourret (21.1%)

Angie Everhart (61.1%) defeated Adaora Akubilo (38.9%)

Group 34

Michelle Behennah (94.1%) defeated Aya Thorgren (5.9%)

Eva Herzigova (54.5%) defeated Fernanda Motta (45.5%)

Group 35

Esti Ginzburg (81.0%) defeated Talisa Soto (19.0%)

Kate Bock (68.0%) defeated Shannan Click (32.0%)

My spin:

In Group 33, Angie Everhart and Jenna de Rosnay continued to be perfect for the tournament, and it sets up a final match showdown for first place in the group.

In Group 34, Eva Herzigova stayed unbeaten by surviving a test from Fernanda Motta. Eva is unbeaten but not invincible, as her three wins have all come by less than 10 percentage points. In fact, this one was actually her largest margin of victory so far. She’s still a favorite to win the group, though, because her one remaining match is against Rosie de la Cruz. But, Eva cannot afford a slip-up. It will be a fun final match between Fernanda Motta and Michelle Behennah, too. The winner will likely earn a spot in the Knockout Stage, while the loser would likely be eliminated.

Finally, Kate Bock took control of Group 35 with her great win over Shannan Click. Shannan falls into third place in the group with the loss, and it is no longer mathematically possible for her to finish first in the group. So, she’ll have to have a strong showing in her final match and hope for a wild card spot. Meanwhile, first place will come down to the next match between Kate and Esti. Esti needs not only a win but a convincing one to overtake Kate for first place.

Today’s results are in!

Group 36

Genevieve Morton (85.7%) defeated Monique Moura de Carvalho (14.3%)

Estella Warren (52.4%) defeated Mallory Snyder (47.6%)

Group 37

Josie Maran (95.8%) defeated Margaux Hemingway (4.2%)

Ana Beatriz Barros (100.0%) defeated Ann Simonton (0.0%)

Group 38

Janelle Fishman (52.6%) defeated Kim Lemanton (47.4%)

Hannah Davis (78.3%) defeated Maria Joao (21.7%)

My spin:

Genevieve Morton crushed her competition again, and her closest competition in Group 36, Mallory Snyder, lost a tough match to Estella Warren. So, it looks very likely that Genevieve will capture first place. She hasn’t quite clinched yet, but all she has to do is avoid losing to Mallory by a margin of more than 75%-25%. If Genevieve wins or even loses a closer match than that, then she wraps up first place.

In Group 37, Ana Beatriz Barros had a clean sheet against swimsuit model-turned-feminist Ann Simonton, but she’s still looking up in the table at Josie Maran. Josie also hasn’t officially clinched yet, but a one-in-a-million shot would have to happen to prevent her from first place.

Finally, in Group 38, Hannah Davis and Janelle Fishman both won to stay undefeated and setup a final match showdown for first place in the group. The winner will get first place, and the loser can only hope for a wild card slot.

Group 40

Patricia Velasquez (90.5%) defeated Cynthia Korman (9.5%)

Cindy Crawford (82.6%) defeated Oluchi Onweagba (17.4%)

Group 41

Kim Cloutier (70.8%) defeated Emily DiDonato (29.2%)

Manon Von Gerkan (57.1%) defeated Yvonne Sylvander (42.9%)

My spin:

Group 39 is still anybody’s to win. Three models, Ingrid Seynhaeve, Frankie Rayder, and Melissa Baker, still have a realistic shot at first place, and it will come down to the final matches to sort it out.

In Group 40, Cindy Crawford took control of the group, and while she hasn’t mathematically clinched first place, she has practically done so. It would take a monumental loss in her last match to keep her out of first place.

Finally, in Group 41, Emily DiDonato had her chance to shine against Kim Cloutier, but she fell on her face in a crushing defeat. Emily drops to second place but actually was mathematically eliminated from first place contention. So, she’ll have to pray to the wild card gods if she wants to advance in the competition. The only one with a shot at overtaking Kim is now Manon Von Gerkan, who escaped with a win against winless twin Yvonne Sylvander. Given results to this point, it seems unlikely that Manon can beat Kim by a large enough margin to take over first place, but anything is possible!

Group 42

Michelle Lombardo (52.4%) defeated Barbara Carrera (47.6%)

Sarah O’Hare (59.1%) defeated Shakara Ledard (40.9%)

Group 43

Jessica Perez (84.6%) defeated Sonia Dara (15.4%)

Laetitia Casta (70.4%) defeated Niki Taylor (29.6%)

Group 44

Kelly Emberg (94.4%) defeated Rita Tellone (5.6%)

Yvette Sylvander (70.6%) defeated Sunny Bippus (29.4%)

My spin:

In Group 42, Sarah O’Hare and Michelle Lombardo both stayed alive for first place, as both are now 2-1 and still looking up in the table at the unbeaten Julie Ordon. Unfortunately for both, Julie has already beaten each Sarah and Michelle, so they need to hope for help from Shakara Ledard in the final group match. Meanwhile, Sarah and Michelle will face each other in what will basically be an elimination match. The winner keeps their hopes alive to advance as either group winner or wild card, but the loser likely will be eliminated.

In Group 43, Laetitia Casta kept her lead over Jessica Perez, as both were victorious. Laetitia only needs to win her final match against Jamee Becker, which is a near certainty, to capture the group title. Jessica’s only real hope is for a wild card berth.

In Group 44, Kelly Emberg stayed in the hunt for first place with her win, but she’ll need help in the final group match to catch unbeaten Gigi Hadid.

Group 46

Zoe Duchesne (68.2%) defeated Maria Von Hartz (31.8%)

Selita Ebanks (77.8%) defeated Damaris Lewis (22.2%)

My spin:

The 4th round robin cycle has come to a close, and there is just one more cycle left.  So, the tournament really starts kicking into high gear now! From this point forward, we’ll see who claims first place in every one of the 47 groups.

In Group 45, Bregje Heinen made that final round robin cycle unnecessary, because she became the 5th model to clinch first place so far with her victory over Rachel Roberts. Rachel will have to play for a wild card spot, but she’ll have to recover from this big loss to Bregje, which really hurt her standing in the wild card race.

Group 46 is one of the most competitive groups in the tournament. Zoe Duchesne and Angela Lindvall won, which means that four of the five models in the group have 2 wins each. It is going to be a wild finish for first place!

In Group 47, Selita Ebanks and Sara Sampaio will battle it out in the final Group Stage match of this year’s tournament to decide which one will claim first place in the group. Also of note in this group is the continued terrible showing for Naomi Campbell. Naomi is supposed to be a supermodel, but she’s actually been one of the worst supported models in the entire tournament, and she hasn’t even come close to a victory.

Alright, that wraps up the penultimate round robin cycle. Starting tomorrow, we’ll start adding names to the Knockout Stage bracket fast and furiously. Exciting times!
