Amelia Zadro just sounds like a name destined for great things. Our MBFWA casting with Mark Vassallo and Yimmy Yayo was Amelia's first ever casting. She's about as new to the industry as it gets but you can expect to see her on the runway soon. Understandably, she was pretty nervous about the whole casting process (I feel you, sister). I gave her a very Marcia Hines-esque pep talk off the record, but this is what we spoke about when I was hitting record. Ingrid Kesa: Hi Amelia! What agency are you with? Amelia Zadro: I’m from Priscillas. How old are you? I’m 17 17, cool. Will this be your first Fashion Week? Yeah, I’ve only been for Priscillas for two months. Is that when you started modeling? Yeah. Did you get scouted? My brother’s friend is a fashion designer, and he kept saying to me when I was younger that I should go in to Priscillas. I went in last December and I’ve been doing a bit since then. What kind of jobs have you been doing so far? I did Dion Lee a few weeks ago. It’s mostly been tests and things. So have you walked in a show before? No, I never have so it’s all a bit scary. Have you been practicing your walk then? Yeah, I have. I still get really nervous. I think you’ll be fine, you’re so pretty. [Laughs awkwardly]. Are you still in school? Yeah, I’m doing my HSC so it’s been really hard. I can’t wait to finish school so I can focus on modeling.
