Qball Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Vojislava Lukić (Serbian Cyrillic: Војислава Лукић; born March 31, 1987) is a professional Serbian tennis player. Born and raised in Subotica (now Serbia, former SFR Yugoslavia), she achieved her highest career ranking as No. 203 in singles on August 20, 2007, and No. 223 in doubles on October 8, 2008.[2] As of April 6, 2009, Lukić is ranked No. 1093 in singles and No. 594 in doubles. Lukić won three three ITF singles titles in 2006, all in Romania — in Piteşti, Medias and Bucharest. She also played for Serbia Fed Cup team in 2007, alongside Jelena Janković, Ana Jovanović and Ana Timotić. Lukić is currently coached by Eduard Pana.[1] She started playing tennis aged eight. Lukić is former European U-14 champion and World No. 8 in junior concurrence. She won three three ITF singles titles in 2006, all in Romania — in Piteşti, Medias and Bucharest. Lukić was a one of four members of Serbia Fed Cup team in 2007, alongside Jelena Janković, Ana Jovanović and Ana Timotić. She played for Serbia versus Estonia in Europe/Africa Group I C — Round Robin, winning both her matches. In Lukić, she defeated Anett Schutting 6—1, 6—2, in singles, and Schutting and Margit Ruutel in doubles, partnering Timotić. She also lost her singles match versus Johanna Larsson in the round robin versus Sweden. In the quarterfinals of World Group II Playoffs, Lukić played against former World No. 5 player Daniela Hantuchová and lost with 6—0, 6—2. Lukić has recently stated that she lost the faith in her game. She has also started working as a host of Total tennis, the RTS television program about tennis; her job is to interview players.
