Shara
I can´t believe there´s no topic of Felipe Massa. So i make the begin with a profile of him; Name: Felipe Massa Born: April 25, 1981 in Sao Paulo/Brasil Marial status: Married with Raffaela Bassi since2007 Heigth: 1,66 m Weight: 59 kg Teams: Sauber, Ferrari Current Team: Ferrari Starts: 111 Points: 301 Victorys: 11 First Race: Melbourne 2002 Best Position: 1 Best Position in the Championships: No.2 (2008) For 30 seconds at the very end of the 2008 season, it looked like Felipe Massa had become Brazil’s first world champion since Ayrton Senna. Lewis Hamilton’s last-gasp move into fifth place would deny Massa the crown, but the Ferrari driver could still be satisfied with his year, for he had transformed the paddock’s perception of him during 2008. Massa’s gracious and mature response to championship defeat was widely admired, demonstrating how much he had developed as both a driver and a person. madristar
Massa results tell a sorry storyFelipe Massa was the subject of a vote of confidence from the Ferrari management which raised more doubts over his role in the team.Outclassed and outscored by new team-mate Fernando Alonso this season, the amiable Massa's slide from title challenger to also-ran in just two short years has been hard to witness. With four races remaining going into Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka, Massa trails Alonso by 63 points and will be expected to aid the Spaniard's cause in the closing weeks of the season.Perhaps with that in mind, Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo yesterday aimed a timely rocket in the direction of Massa in a move designed to both spark the driver and convince the world that he will have an equal shot at the title next year."Felipe is and will always stay a number one driver for Ferrari," said Di Montezemolo. "I expect the performances of a number one driver from him - both in the next four races and next year."But how seriously should we take Di Montezemolo's missive? madristar
"Massa still a number one driver"Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has handed Felipe Massa a vote of confidence ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix.Massa has been firmly put in the shade by team-mate Fernando Alonso this season and trails the Spaniard by 63 points heading into the year's final four races. The Brazilian's standing in the team was called into question when he was forced to cede victory to Alonso in July's German Grand Prix, but results since then have more than justified the Scuderia's controversial decision.Back-to-back wins in Italy and Singapore have vaulted Alonso into second place in the championship standings, just 11 points down on Red Bull's Mark Webber.Massa's role as wing man to Alonso during the final races of the campaign could be crucial to the outcome of the title race, and Di Montezemolo has backed the 29-year-old to do a professional job."It's an important time and I'm sure that everyone will give everything they have in order to achieve our objectives," said Di Montezemolo."Felipe is and will always stay a number one driver for Ferrari. I expect the performances of a number one driver from him - both in the next four races and... next year."Those will be crucial to bring us wins next season and to take important points from our opponents in the battle for this world championship."Di Montezemolo is not in Japan for this weekend's race at Suzuka but spoke to his drivers via telephone today and is confident the team is geared towards a good result come Sunday."Fernando sounded very focused and determined, just like the whole team," he added on www.ferrari.com.
