September 11, 201014 yr "Kaka's progress is favourable"Carlos Diez, Chief of Sanitas-Real Madrid Medical Services, and Juan Carlos Hernandez, memeber of Real Madrid's Medical Staff, discuss the recovery of the playerCarlos Diez and Juan Carlos Hernandez join forces with the Club's physiotherapists to heal Kaka's injuries as soon as possible. They here discuss the work the player is doing to meet all the deadlines."All the recovery stages we are coming up with focus on the recovery of the player's knee. This doesn't mean that, as he recovers, and depending on how he feels from a clinical point of view, we won't reach a stage in which we will focus at the same time on his groin, looking for him to work with the team again as soon as possible.""Kaka is currently doing recovery exercises. Those in the pool are done with weights to try to strengthen the muscles in the knee area. He is also doing propioceptive exercises to gradually improve on the progress he's making.""He is practically asymptomatic on the knee. He may experience some muscular fatigue at times, but this is normal due to the inactivity he's been experiencing. There are nevertheless no clinical manifestations proper to the knee.""Kaka is very meticulous with his work. He likes to takcle things within the deadline and it is a pleasure to work with him. He always wants to work more and we have to rein him in to avoid him making things that could be detrimental.""Kaka's daily routine begins with an exploration of the knee. He then goes to the gym and to the pool to do strenghteninig workouts on his groin and knee. He works out for three hours in the morning and two and a half in the afternoon practically every day. He sometimes is given a day off to rest when the work he's been doing is very intense. We have set certain deadlines and we are happy because we are meeting them all.""We want to be careful because this is the second operation he's had on that knee. It would be a mistake on our part to force his re-entry in the team if the isn't 100% fit to play. Afrer healing the knee we have to heal the groin, which more or less indirectly affects the entire recovery process. We are very satisfied with the progress he's making."
