I think it is because it was the beginning of her career. Before 1991 she wasn't THE model that every fashion designer would want to have on the runway. I do believe that she always had a talent, but before 1991 she did not have enough precision in her walk. I think that she worked a lot, and in 1991 something happened ! I remember someone who wrote that she just "bloomed" in 1991.

Both for his RTW and Couture shows Hubert was not booking the biggest of the biggest, from time to time Karen Mulder or Carla Bruni walked his show in the years 1992-1994 but he was not into booking Supermodels all the time and it is clear that it was even harder for girls to have shows and fittings all the time, now it is just one look and you go to another fitting but in the 90s sometimes it was 7-8 looks in one show, so the fittings were definately longer, I guess her agency was just not even trying to make Yasmeen appear at Givenchy in order to let her breathe a bit, she was always on the top with the number of shows so she did not need to book Givenchy at that time
