Camila Alves' Style Evolution

Camila Alves’ style is proof that you don’t have to wear a mini-skirt to be sexy. Instead of flashing her gams, Alves often wears snug, knee-length and mid-calf dresses for a subtle sexiness. The Brazilian bombshell also knows how to make a dramatic entrance with voluminous gowns and high-collared dresses. New York, NY, United States (AHN) – Leading multimedia retailer QVC continues to set the trend in accessible designer fashions at New York Fashion Week. QVC will once again broadcast live from New York City during February Fashion Week. QVC will offer viewers an exclusive look at one of the fashion industry’s most iconic events.

QVC will host a unique runway show for invited guests on Wednesday, Feb. 8 to introduce four new designer collections. Also showcased will be the latest styles from customer favorites and preview items set to launch later in the month.

The runway fashions will be styled using elements from several designers to present an ensemble of trends for the spring collection.

On Feb. 10, viewers can tune into QVC at 10 p.m. for a live NY Fashion Week Web broadcast featuring feminine looks from Christina Ehrlich and Isaac Mizrahi. Also featured will be styles appropriate for a global expedition from the debut collection created by Fern Mallis and Karen Zambos. Also highlighted will be designs from QVC veteran Marc Bouwer and debut designer Cynthia Vincent.

In addition, QVC will broadcast behind-the-scenes video of the fashion show and exclusive interviews with the designers about their new QVC collection.

A second NY Fashion Week show will be aired live at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11. Featured will be bohemian chic styles and new pieces from Brazilian designer and model Camila Alves. The QVC premiere of Geren Lockhart, creator of Geren Ford, will also be highlighted.

Couture and contemporary designers Dennis Basso and Mark Zunino will present glamorous pieces, while editorial favorite Lori Goldstein will shine with an eclectic line.

Camila’s business associate also says that it was McConaughey who first noticed Camila and asked her to have a drink with him.

“He chose her, she didn’t chose him,” she adds. “She was at a restaurant in LA and he walked up to her. He introduced himself, and said he would love to have her come join him for his favorite drink - a margarita - and they had a great friendship to start.”

"McConaughey met Alves, a 5-foot-11 model and budding actress from Brazil, at a restaurant in Los Angeles two years ago. It’s the first woman that I’ve met that I haven’t met through friends,” McConaughey said. “That doesn’t really happen too often. I saw her across the room and I couldn’t get my eyes off of her.

“So I invited her over and started making a margarita and then I noticed right away that this was not the kind of girl you just want to wave over. So I got my butt out of the chair, went over there and introduced myself and said, ‘You can come over and bring any of your friends you want to back to our table.’ And that’s what kind of got her to come over in the first place.”

McConaughey said they spoke Portuguese and Spanish for the first 25 minutes of their conversation before he asked her out.

“And I haven’t wanted to ask anyone else out for the last two years,” he said."
