Joseph Gordon-Levitt missed prom to avoid ''evil'' girls

Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt did not attend his high school prom as he thought girls were evil.

The "(500) Days of Summer" star, who studied at the Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles said he was a "serious little dude snobby" and never tried to please girls, reported GQ magazine.

"I thought the girls my age were very frustrating. They were, like, looking in their compact mirrors and I thought that was evil," he said.

Today, Gordon-Levitt, 31, who goes by Joe, has brought that seriousness to his career. He''s got four movies coming out before year''s end, including a mysterious role in "The Dark Knight Rises."

In addition to the Batman flick, Gordon-Levitt will soon be seen in next month''s thriller "Premium Rush," sci-fi film "Looper" with Bruce Willis, and Steven Spielberg''s biopic "Lincoln" as the president''s son.

He''s currently directing his first feature film, a 2013 comedy called "Don Jon''s Addiction," in which he stars with Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore, and his "Angels in the Outfield" co-star Tony Danza.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.” “In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sends His "Most Sincere Sympathies" to Dark Knight Rises Shooting Victims

In the wake of Friday's tragic shooting during a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado, the film's stars are speaking out about the horrible incident.

Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who stars as young cop John Blake in the film, is the most recent cast member to release a statement. Gordon-Levitt, 31, tweeted Monday, "My most sincere sympathies go out to the families of the victims in Aurora."

On Saturday, Batman star Christian Bale and Catwoman actress Anne Hathaway each released separate statement regarding the tragic shooting.

"Words cannot express the horror that I feel," Bale, 38, said. "I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."

Hathaway stated, "My heart aches and breaks for the lives taken and altered by this unfathomable senseless act. I am at a loss for words how to express my sorrow. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."

Is Joseph Gordon-Levitt Up For More 'Dark Knight'?

Regarding potential for a follow-up to 'Dark Knight Rises,' actor tells MTV News, 'That's not for me to say.'

With one whisper of his character's given name (Robin) and a solo sojourn into a bat-infested cave, Joseph Gordon-Levitt piqued the curiosity of fanboys and girls everyone who couldn't help but wonder whether the actor would carry on Batman's legacy now that Christian Bale has hung up his cape and cowl. It's a question MTV News recently posed to the 31-year-old actor and his "Dark Knight Rises" co-star Gary Oldman as Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy comes to a close.

Would 'Dark Knight Rises' Actors Reprise Their Roles In The Future?

"That's not for me to say," Gordon-Levitt said regarding a possible follow-up. "I think if you see the movie, it's very clear, it's conclusive and it's a great ending. It's not one of those movies that's just like, 'Well, we didn't quite know how to end it.' 'Cause those happen. They call it a trilogy, but it's not really a trilogy. It's just another movie to make more money. This is a trilogy, and this is the end of it."

Oldman was equally emphatic about this being the end of Christopher Nolan's Bat journey.

"When he says he doesn't know, he's dealing — he's wheeling and dealing. They all go, 'Is there going to be a third Batman?' and he goes, 'I don't know,' and you go, that means he's actually working on it. But I think he's pretty emphatic, isn't he?" Oldman said, though he did imagine possible scenarios in which a Nolan's version of Gotham could continue.

"Unless the studio — they must be in a real quandary. In a way, it must be hard for them if they want to make a fourth. Would he come on as a producer with his overseeing it and story and then put a director in the driving seat? I guess that is a possible scenario, but I think he's done with it. I think it's true when he says, 'I'm done. There's no more. There's no more for me.' And as much as he is the man, you do get sick of it. You know, I spoke to Emma [Thomas], the producer, his wife. 'Oh, we never want to see a Batman thing again,' [she said]. You do get to a point where you go, you've created a Frankenstein, a monster you want to kill it."

Thankfully, Nolan didn't literally kill it (Gotham or Bruce Wayne), so there's always a tiny possibility for a fourth. For her part, Catwoman Anne Hathaway said she'd follow the director anywhere, though she didn't think it another film was terribly likely, either. Or that she should ask for one.

"That would be greedy," she said. "I would go wherever Christopher Nolan asked me to, and I would wear any suit he asked me, and I would play anything he wanted me to do, but it would be greedy of me to ask for more than I got with this one."
