August 28, 201212 yr Joseph Gordon-Levitt: 'I liked keeping Dark Knight Rises secret'Joseph Gordon-Levitt has revealed that he loved keeping his Dark Knight Rises character John Blake's true identity a secret. The actor told The Huffington Post that he relished in concealing Blake's secret twist while promoting the film."I like not telling. It's the same as if I've seen a movie that I have nothing to do with and I've just really enjoyed it and I recommend it to people, I don't tell them anything about it," Gordon-Levitt explained. He further explained: "I always just say, 'Please believe me. If you like movies, I like movies, you're going to like this movie. That's all I'm going to tell you'. Because, for me, when I watch a movie, I want to experience the story the way the filmmaker intended."Or if there's a movie I'm looking forward to seeing, I try not to read any articles about it. I'll even often times not watch the trailers - just because I really want to get all of the elements in the order that the movie is."Gordon-Levitt recently said it's unclear if another Batman sequel will be produced, adding that The Dark Knight Rises's final scene was a "great ending for that trilogy".The Dark Knight Rises is now playing. September 3, 201212 yr Joseph Gordon-Levitt Says There Were No Discussions About What ‘Suit’ He Puts On At The End Of TDKRMTV caught up with actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt recently and got him talking about the ending of The Dark Knight Rises and although he thinks the ending was a perfect way to end Christopher Nolan’s trilogy they asked him what his thoughts are on the possibility that they’ll be continuing the story with a spinoff for John Blake.Spoilers follow the break: *If you do not want key moments of the movie ruined for you, do not read any further.*While fans of the series know that Chris Nolan Dropped the massive bombshell at the end of The Dark Knight Rises, being John Blake’s first name being Robin and his inheriting the Batcave from Batman and the obvious implication to carry on his work, fans have argued since its premier if that means the next Batman film will carry on after that moment with JGL playing center stage as the new Batman, or Robin, or even Nightwing. When MTV asked Levitt about the possibility of such a film being made, Levitt goes on to say though that there were never any hypothetical conversation on set to specify that if the story continued on whether he’d be Batman, Nightwing or Robin.Honestly, no, we never talked about that. And honestly I know a lot of people talk about the ending of that movie being a setup for a sequel but I don’t think that’s necessarily what it is. It’s a great, perfect ending for that trilogy. While it can be seen as unfortunate news, the fact it, it was a perfect ending to the trilogy he began, and it is time for someone else to show the world their view of Batman.
September 5, 201212 yr Man of the Summer Joseph Gordon-Levitt Gets Candid About Filming Premium RushAt the premiere of Premium Rush, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's starring vehicle, everyone looked for comparisons to his other big movie of the summer, The Dark Knight Rises. So Gordon-Levitt set us straight. "This movie is really different from The Dark Knight Rises," he said. "The Dark Knight Rises is a beautiful movie; it's a superhero movie that's also a dignified, substantial drama. Premium Rush is not a heavy drama in the slightest. It's just a fun time at a summer popcorn chase flick," the actor explained at the New York premiere on Wednesday. We've heard about the injuries Gordon-Levitt suffered while playing the bicycle messenger -- 30 stitches, in one case -- but by the time they were shooting, he was already in shape. The initial training for the role was more painful, overall. "I would get up in the morning and go ride for a couple hours, and every day I would wake up really sore, especially in the lower body," he told VF Daily."But, you know, that's part of the job, and it's fun. And then slowly but surely you get into shape, and then you can do it all day." And that was the goal. "I had to be able to do it all day, every day. I didn't want the film crew waiting for me to catch my breath."And Gordon-Levitt is adamant about giving credit to the stunt men. "Let's be clear: I didn't do my own stunts in this movie. I don't like it when actors say that they did their own stunts. I rode the bike all day, every day, but there's me and four other guys who all had different specialties on the bike," he said. "One of them is a real bike messenger, one of them is a Hollywood stunt man, one's good at tricks on a trials bike, and one's good at tricks on a fixed-gear track bike. And they're all in the movie, and they're all brilliant," he said. "And you know, the thrills in Premium Rush don't come from big C.G. sequences. They come from watching these really talented, skilled athletes do crazy things on two wheels."The shoot, two years ago, took place on the sweltering streets of New York City. "I just want to take this opportunity to apologize to the citizens of New York, and thank them for their cooperation, even though it was unwilling," director David Koepp told us. And yes, he says this was the smelliest group of actors he's worked with.Gordon-Levitt was philosophical. "Well, it's set in the summertime, so I was supposed to be sweating," he said, laughing.
