After an incredibly exciting year of praise and tremendous box office success for The Dark Knight, director Christopher Nolan is ready to start all over again with a new, non-Batman-related project. And yet again, he's getting a big-name A-lister to work with. Leonardo DiCaprio is signing on to star in Nolan's Inception, which "is described as a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within 'the architecture of the mind.'" The movie is set to release relatively soon, in the Summer of 2010.

Nolan wrote the script for Inception himself (just as he wrote the screenplays for many of his other films, including Memento, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight), and it'll be interesting to see what will come from a collaboration with DiCaprio. This does, however, push back any work on another Batman movie. Are you anxious for Nolan to continue with the Batman franchise? Or do you think there should be a bit of breathing room between The Dark Knight and the next installment?

Zac Efron about Leo

But the young star is thinking ahead. He recently sought advice from a star he admires - Leonardo DiCaprio, at GQ's Men of the Year awards.

"I was all, 'Oh, hey!' And he turned around and right there I had the 'in.' and I was like, 'I just want to shake your hand, dude, I'm a big fan… I'd love to sit down and talk with you sometime.' And he goes, 'Right on,'" Efron recounted. "A few nights later, I was at a Lakers game and I texted him, and he said he was coming. And this guy in a ball cap and coat with the collar up sits next to me. We talked the whole game, and he was just everything I thought he would be: smart, level-headed, charming, hilarious. You know, the older-brother vibe."

Leonardo DiCaprio indulges in a short cigarette break while out with some pals in New York City on Friday (March 6).

The 34-year-old actor was seen biking through Manhattan’s East Village with his fellow helmet-wearing actor pals — Lukas Haas, Tobey Maguire and Kevin Dillon.

On Sunday (March 8), Leo was seen puffing away at another cancer stick while grabbing Chinese food with some friends in Los Angeles. He was wearing his favorite FAU cap and has said about it, “I have no idea [why I wear it] but I love baseball caps! This is the real reason I wear ’em: I just like the design and the pattern. People come up to me and say, ‘You went to FAU!’ Wait—this is Florida Atlantic University.”

Nobu anniversary party reels in Leonardo DiCaprio:

However, one guest in particular caught my attention: Leonardo DiCaprio. Dressed in baggy jeans, shiny black sneakers and a ball cap, DiCaprio was living proof of the Hollywood maxim that the more dressed down you are the more important you most likely are.

He sat at the far end of the patio surrounded by a tightly packed crowd of people who were trying really hard to act super casual. More than a few wispy girls in tiny dresses danced around him to the DJ’s beats, hoping he would notice. Like most everybody else there, I watched him while trying not to watch him until Nobu's always affable managing partner, Richie Notar, escorted him out through the back door.

“Can I get a quote from him?” I lamely asked Notar, whom I profiled for the Guide last year. Notar grinned and continued walking. “He had fun,” he said.
