Meet Elisa Sednaoui and Christian Louboutin in Paris.

Elisa Sednaoui -the model and actress and now philanthropist – has teamed up with innovative celebrity fundraising platform www.MyGoodness.com to raise money and awareness for The Elisa Sednaoui Foundation.

Those who donate to the Foundation via MyGoodness.com will be in with the chance of winning an exclusive weekend in Paris where they will meet Elisa herself, as well as her iconic godfather, Christian Louboutin.

“I am so grateful to Christian and Mygoodness.com for their support AND GENEROSITY,” said Elisa. "The funds raised will help ESF organize the next workshops and continue the training of the young adults who will eventually run a community cultural centre which we intend to fund in Luxor. Creative learning cultivates the minds and the hearts, it opens up imagination, and nurtures the soul. Yet, there is very limited access to creative outlets in the daily lives of people in Luxor, and virtually no arts education in local schools. I would like to thank all of you for helping us promote playful cultural exchange, citizenship, tolerance, equality, the celebration of heritage and the building of life skills".

“By donating you are contributing to give a very unique experience for all the kids who will participate in the programmes. I am looking forward to meeting you in Paris”.

The Elisa Sednaoui Foundation (ESF) supports creative learning projects (i.e.: education through and exposure to culture and arts) to promote playful cultural exchange and the building of life skills. Why creative learning? Because it has the power to transform the social and cognitive development of children, help foster innovators and problem-solvers, build a sense of community, and promote civic engagement.

The winner of the experience will be flown to Paris to meet Elisa Sednaoui and Christian Louboutin at his studio, where they will discuss the secret of the red soles as well as get to choose their favourite pair of stiletto’s from the collection that will be signed by Christian Louboutin. They’ll then indulge in a VIP spa treatment at Darphin and spend an evening at the Crazy Horse, sipping champagne and enjoying the most glamorous show in Paris.

Donations start from as little as £10, which will earn entrants 2 entries to the competition, with the winner being selected randomly at the end of the campaign. Other than the grand prize, entrants can get many other exclusive rewards , including Darphin beauty products, Lisa Marie Fernandez Ponchos, original drawings from Christian Louboutin himself, and a signed pair of his signature shoes.

Severine Balick, co-founder of MyGoodness.com said: “We were very impressed by the engagement of Elisa the first time we met her and as fans we are thrilled to be working with Elisa and Christian Louboutin. Elisa is an amazing role model and we’re excited to help her to show people how doing good and making a difference is Fashionable. At MyGoodness we believe that if you do good things, good things happen to you.”

To be honest, I don't like her look. The dress, the bag and especially the shoes...The huge platform makes me think of orthopedic shoes. Look at this picture (sorry for the watermark).

I must be a "fashion ignorant", surely. But again, I don't understand her look. And I don't like it. No comments about the bag (maybe too vanguardist?)

On the other hand, I love the hairstyle and the make up which is very subtle but at the same time enhances her cheekbones in a graceful way. :PinkCouture2:

Video interview at Chanel show.

In case you don't know it, the title mentions "feminism" because the Karl Lagerfeld's show started with a poor feminist demonstration attempt with protests and slogans. I think that Lagerfeld and feminism are contradictory words (not to say antonyms). We're talking about the same man who said things like: "It's the fat women sitting in front of televisions with their pack of crisps who say slim models are hideous". Apparently, certain women who don't fit in his personal standards are described by him as the portrait of a loser who only can be in front of the television, just eating. “Fat mommies with bags of crisps” was another of his deep thoughts. No need to say that women have the right to decide about their bodies, their measures and their lifestyle without being teased.

Now, this man uses feminist slogans in order to sell more of his "art". I have no idea if it was a parody. I hope not. It would be even more offensive. Feminism is a serious cause, especially for women from certain countries where women rights are violated on a daily basis. It's weird that a woman like Elisa, who has shown social awareness about these matters (remember her documentary about women empowerment in Egypt) can praise this man and this show in such terms. :yuckky:

Sorry but I had to say it.

Change a Life with The Elisa Sednaoui Foundation (and win some Louboutins!)

October 6, 2014 by Zoe Beaty.

post-86567-0-58604300-1412620245_thumb.j

She’s modelled for Chanel, Roberto Cavalli and Giorgio Armani. An early acting career saw her star in such films as Bus Palladium and Remember Now. She speaks five languages, and she counts Christian Louboutin as a pal. And now, Elisa Sednaoui has gone in an entirely new direction - she has founded the Elisa Sednaoui Fountadion (ESF), an after-school initiative giving access to creative learning for under privileged children. Oh, and she’s only 26.

Elisa’s foundation is a new initiative that’s already making waves. Not only has Christian Louboutin has been a supporter since its beginnings in April, but it’s also proving to be a huge hit with the hundreds (and climbing) Egyptian children it’s providing for. Soon, Elisa hopes to expand into Italy, where she was born, and after that, as far as the foundation will go.

"The idea of the foundation is to provide after school programmes and workshops for underprivileged kids, who are denied the opportunity to be creative - traditionally, they have no access to creative learning because of heavy responsibilities given to them in the home after school, which they are expected to take on from as young as six or seven", Elisa told Grazia exclusively this week. The workshops are all creative learning based - from musical improvisation, to painting to acting to languages. "Children should be able to have the opportunity to live like children. I was interested in working in education and with children but there’s something about creative learning and social emotional learning that I think is relevant and needed, besides traditional education.

We wanted to create a space where children can freely express their opinions, freely express their feelings, be equal and have fun whilst learning - and to be exposed to the arts".

Elisa, who was born in Italy and lived in Egypt until she was six before moving back to her native country, set up the foundation when she was inspired by children at a school in Luxor, where children were attending extra school classes. In the schools there, children would be forced to learn in classes of up to 100 with just one struggling teacher - and as a result, stressed teachers would purposefully stop classes short in order to charge parents for extra tuition for their children, many of whom simply couldn't afford it.

"Bill Clinton once said that 'talent is equally distributed, but opportunity is not' - and I agree", Elisa continued. When she became pregnant - and became, in her own words, 'really productive' - she was inspired to change a little bit of the world that her newborn baby would arrive into. "It made me think a lot about what I could do; working proactively to try and change things in the world that my baby would grow up into".

Now, her pilot centre caters for hundreds of children who would usually be tasked with responsibilities in the home from the age of six. Instead, they are able to expand their minds, dream of having careers and learn skills to help them achieve them. Before ESF, their parents simply wouldn't be able to afford to give them such opportunities.

"I looked at these kids who were so young", Elisa continues, "and instead of being on holiday or playing after school and being outside they were working. But they were eager to learn. I wanted to help them do just that".

And now you can help too. Grazia has teamed up with the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation to help raise vital funds to support the children they help – though the foundation has only been running just a few months, it is already changing the lives of the children who attend by allowing them to dream of a better future for themselves - and we’re offering you a chance to win a signed pair of stilletto Louboutins for the cause. Not only that, runners up could also win a signed copy of the Louboutin book and pots of the new brand new exclusive Louboutin nail varnish are up for grabs.

All you have to do is make a donation to the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation and if Grazia readers collectively raise £5k for this brilliant cause everyone who has made a pledge will be in with a chance of winning. So, what are you waiting for?

Stop worrying about your looks-brains are the REAL secret of success: French actress and model  Elisa Sednaoui says it's time we all stopped obsessing about celebrity

October 3, 2014 by Ruth Styles.

- The actress and model, 26, says celebrity shouldn't be an end in itself.

- Says that teenagers focus too much on looks and not enough on brains.

- Runs a charity foundation that aims to boost learning for Egyptian girls.

- Birth of her son has made her even more convinced about merits of learning.

She's the darling of the French film scene, a successful model and the brains behind her own philanthropic foundation.

Now Elisa Sednaoui has revealed that she's determined to ensure that poverty-stricken Egyptian girls get the education they deserve - and has teamed up with shoe supremo Christian Louboutin to make it happen.

But there's more to Sednaoui than acting and charity campaigns. A self-confessed nerd, she says that the current trend for teenage girls to value looks over brains is worrying and she hopes that they will realise that in life, intelligence is just as important as good looks.

"Life always ends up teaching us, one way or another, that without depth, beauty is worth very little", she explains in an exclusive interview with MailOnline.

"It's much better to start being curious and asking questions about the world early on. Education is everything".

The mother of a one-year-old son Jack, Sednaoui is outspoken about raising her son to respect women - and would even describe herself a feminist.

"I am a feminist in the sense that I believe that women are entitled the same rights and opportunities as men and are of equal value", she says firmly.

"I will always be grateful to those women who fought for this, as I feel completely equal and I will do all I can to help women around the world to achieve the same".

To that end, she has set up the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation, which provides after-school tuition to girls and boys in Egypt - a country close to the part-Egyptian Sednaoui's heart.

"In Egypt, women can work outside the home, go to school and university, and are free to vote or run in elections", she explains. "But in education and the labour market, women still lag behind. Women are four times more likely to be unemployed than men".

Keeping track of women's progress in the country is difficult because, as Sednaoui points out, the majority either work at home or have an informal role in the work place.

This is something that she hopes to fix and to that end, she is currently working on a campaign to raise awareness of their plight and funds to support her foundation's work - all with a little help from Louboutin.

Together, the pair are running a social media campaign which encourages women to post pictures of themselves and their shoes on Instagram and make a donation at the same time.

Those with the most exciting pair of shoes will be entered into a competition to win an all-expenses paid trip to Paris to tour Louboutin's studio, escorted by Sednaoui.

Her charitable ambitions, always bubbling under the surface, have become more urgent since becoming a mother in part, she says, because of the way parenthood has turned her into a more empathetic person. "Becoming a mother has given me more empathy", she beams. "More understanding, more tolerance with myself and others. Its a thrilling experience to rediscover the world through his eyes".

Nevertheless, despite being a good example of a woman who has used her brains as well as her beauty to get ahead, she remains concerned about the way celebrity is fetishised and seen as an end in itself by today's teenagers.

"Celebrity is by no means a goal in itself", she says. "Unfortunately I feel young people are confused about this today. The most important is being able to do what makes you happy - not having a paparazzi chasing you".

EDUCATING THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST: THE ELISA SEDNAOUI FOUNDATION.

Set up to provide creative after-school activities to deprived Egyptian children, the Elisa Sednaoui Foundation is now an important part of the actress' life.

Focusing on cultural exchange and life skills, the charity aims to give girls' education a boost in a country where many women still lack the life chances of their male counterparts.

Celebrity supporters include Christian Louboutin, who has teamed up with Elisa for a new campaign to raise funds for the charity, and is offering a prize of an all-expenses paid trip to his Paris atelier, a signed pair of stilettos and a luxury spa experience for one lucky winner.

To get involved, visit mygoodness.com and make a donation in order to be in with a chance to win.

Note: The article is not accurate about two points. Firstly, Elisa is Italian (although she has Egyptian and French roots). Secondly and the most important thing: ESF is not only dedicated to education of girls in Egypt. It's for children in general and one of its main goals is to expand to other countries. They'll start working in Egypt. Later, they'll replicate the experiences in Italy (according to Elisa, the countries she knows the most). And after that, they plan to work in other countries.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find info about the photographer, makeup artist, hair stylist and so on. I'm sure it will be published soon somewhere. But I wonder if Nico Bustos was the photographer this time...They worked together again in mid September. Anyway, no matter who was involved in this editorial, I absolutely love it.
