May 21May 21 Author Born in Tours, she quickly developed a greater affinity for foosball and pinball than for school, teachers, and their lessons. She doesn't dwell on her sophomore and junior years at the Légion d'honneur high school. She talks a little more about her senior year in Blois, from which she would escape for her first nights out at the Palace nightclub in Paris. With her baccalaureate in hand, she settled in the capital – "I had a maid's room on Rue du Bac" – and enrolled in modern literature at Censier, "where I think I only went twice." She earned her pocket money as a hostess, then as a model. From then on, jet-setting and jet lag punctuated a life interspersed with jobs in fashion or the occasional escape to the Philippines, until Sigrid de l'Epine walked the runway for Martin Margiela during the designer's Hermès years. What followed: ten years in Nicolas Ghesquière's inner circle at Balenciaga, then three years heading up public relations for haute couture at Chanel. One of her notable achievements: the Cindy Sherman photoshoot, in which she immortalized herself in an exaggerated "Chanel-ized" style to retrace twenty years of the history of the house on rue Cambon… That was in the early 2010s. Since then, Sigrid de l’Epine has worked as an image and communications consultant. To this work, she now adds her collections of Del’Ep branded cases. In addition to the eyeglass case, she has designed one for credit cards and, starting in the fall of 2020, plans to offer leather cases for phones as well. Sold on her website, a few examples of her cases are also displayed in the May gallery on rue de Lille in Paris, like an invitation to stroll, an activity Sigrid de l’Epine cherishes. Married – to the painter Jean-Charles Blais – and mother of two, she cannot imagine her professional life "without taking the time to have a coffee, go for a walk, run an errand." Just as she couldn't imagine, in the past, preparing for her baccalaureate without taking trips on the Corail train between Blois and Paris. -- epok-formidable
