Today’s results are in! (albeit a little later than usual)Group 37Josie Maran (100.0%) defeated Marilyn Tindall (0.0%)Margaux Hemingway (88.9%) defeated Ann Simonton (11.1%)Group 38Janelle Fishman (84.2%) defeated Navia Nguyen (15.8%)Hannah Davis (86.4%) defeated Kim Lemanton (13.6%)Group 39Ingrid Seynhaeve (61.1%) defeated Tamara Spoelder (38.9%)Frankie Rayder (80.0%) defeated Samantha Jones (20.0%)Group 23Stacey Williams (100.0%) defeated Hina Tama (0.0%)Ann Peterson (61.1%) defeated Dayle Haddon (38.9%)My spin:Yesterday, we had our first clean sheet, as Genevieve Morton didn’t allow Kirby Griffin to take a single vote. Today, we have an amazing two more! Josie Maran and Stacey Williams both shutout their opposition to join the ranks of the perfect. But, both of these were far less shocking than Genevieve’s domination of Kirby Griffin, because both Josie’s and Stacey’s opponents were older “throwback” models that tend not to fare well in this competition. (Again, I could go on about society’s changing tastes in beauty but I won’t!) Nonetheless, a perfect match is a perfect match, and that’s quite a feat.As far as the other matches go, again not too many surprises here. Frankie Rayder, Ingrid Seynhaeve, and Hannah Davis all had easy wins, but Ingrid’s was maybe a bit closer than expected. My darkhorse candidate for Group 38? Janelle Fishman, who got over 84% of the vote against Navia Nguyen. Janelle will eventually have to face off against Hannah Davis, though, and that match will probably decide first place in that group. What are your thoughts? Post and share them! The latest group tables/standings can be found here. Thanks for voting!

Today’s results are in!Group 34Michelle Behennah (64.7%) defeated Rosie de la Cruz (35.3%)Fernanda Motta (75.0%) defeated Aya Thorgren (25.0%)Group 35Esti Ginzburg (84.2%) defeated Georgianna Robertson (15.8%)Kate Bock (77.3%) defeated Talisa Soto (22.7%)Group 36Genevieve Morton (100.0%) defeated Kirby Griffin (0.0%)Mallory Snyder (82.4%) defeated Monique Moura de Carvalho (17.6%)Group 22Elsa Benitez (90.5%) defeated Kenza Fourati (9.5%)Aline Nakashima (78.9%) defeated Michelle Alves (21.1%)My spin:Yesterday, we had our first draw, and today we have the first perfect vote, as Genevieve Morton becomes the first to have a cleat sheet. What is most surprising about this is that Genevieve had a decent opponent in Kirby Griffin. Kirby won one match over Lorraine Pascale and took 46% of the vote in her match against Hannah Davis in the Qualifying Round of last year’s tournament. So, for her to get 0% is a real shocker to me. Great job to Genevieve, I guess! In another impressive performance, Aline Nakashima took out Michelle Alves and got over 78% of the vote in the process. Aline has a tough chore to beat out Elsa Benitez for first place in her group, but this is certainly an impressive start. What are your thoughts? Today’s results are in!Group 31Chandra North (83.3%) defeated Kathryn Redding (16.7%)Amber Smith (70.6%) defeated Kadra Ahmed Omar (29.4%)Group 32Jessica White (70.6%) defeated Mary Sturdevant (29.4%)Vanessa Lorenzo (87.5%) defeated Sheila Roscoe (12.5%)Group 33Jenna de Rosnay (58.8%) defeated Pania Rose (41.2%)Angie Everhart (88.9%) defeated Caprice Bourret (11.1%)Group 21Nina Agdal (77.8%) defeated Reka Ebergenyi (22.2%)Chanel Iman DREW WITH Sabrina Barnett (50%-50%)My spin:Well, there’s an oddity: a draw! Rookie Chanel Iman and two-time SI model Sabrina Barnett couldn’t be separated, and the voting ended completely even. For their efforts, each receive one point in the standings. The one point will help, but it’s going to be an uphill battle displacing Nina Agdal from the top spot. Nina had an easy victory, but her 77.8% of the vote was a little less than I expected. A good show of support for her respectable opponent, Hungarian Reka Ebergenyi, was to blame.Another notable result was Vanessa Lorenzo’s trouncing of the higher-ranked Sheila Roscoe. The “throwback” models from the 60s and early 70s historically haven’t performed as well in the tournament, and usually with good reason, since I think they are generally not as attractive as more recent SI selections. (One could delve into the changing definition of beauty and taste over time, but I won’t here!) Anyway, I thought Sheila, who was the 1972 covergirl, has a great look and was very cute. But, she was no match for Vanessa, who appeared in SI 30 years after her. Finally, two more notable results in Group 33: Jenna de Rosnay edged out Pania Rose in what was predicted to be an even match and was. Angie Everhart had a very impressive win against decent opposition in Caprice Bourret, as Angie got nearly 90% of the vote. That performance certainly cements her as the favorite to win Group 33.What are your thoughts? Post and share them! The latest group tables/standings can be found here. Thanks for voting!

Today’s results are in! Just one group again today due to the catch up from the poll provider issues…Group 20Rachel Hunter (90.0%) defeated Carol Latimer (10.0%)Natasha Barnard (95.8%) defeated Charissa Craig (4.2%)My spin:Not much to say with these two lopsided matches! Most notable, perhaps, was that Natasha’s 95.8% tally is the 2nd-highest score so far in the 2014 tournament, eclipsed only by Marisa Miller’s 96.9% against Kathy Loghry. What are your thoughts? Today’s results are in! Just one group today due to the catch up from the poll provider issues…Group 19Ashley Richardson (94.7%) defeated Paulette Kieon (5.3%)Noemie Lenoir (57.9%) defeated Yasmin Brunet (42.1%)My spin:Ashley Richardson was lucky enough to get slotted in the group with the lowest ranked SI Swimsuit model of all-time, Paulette Kieon. Now, there’s a distinction, huh? Lowest ranked in the history of SI Swimsuit models. Ah, well, at least Paulette was in the issue, which only 234 can claim. Anyway, Ashley trounced her in this match. In the other one, which I thought was far more intriguing, Noemie Lenoir held on for a rather close victory over the blonde Yasmin Brunet. Nice win for Noemie. What are your thoughts? Today’s results are in!Group 16Petra Nemcova (85.0%) defeated Barbro Ehn (15.0%)Molly Sims (52.6%) defeated Dominique Piek (47.4%)Group 17Rebecca Romijn (89.5%) defeated Lorraine Pascale (10.5%)Aurelie Claudel (83.3%) defeated Jenny Brunt (16.7%)Group 18Vendela Kirsebom (83.3%) defeated Gail O’Neill (16.7%)Kristy Hinze (76.2%) defeated Ana Paula Lemes (23.8%)My spin:Well, my girl Dominique Piek almost pulled off the upset, but she came up just short against Molly Sims. I think that group is one of the toughest in the tournament, with Dominique, Molly, and Petra. Dominique can’t catch a break, as last year she was matched up against Cindy Crawford in the first round. Now, she draws a terribly difficult group this year. Thankfully for her, there are wild card entries into the Knockout Stage, so maybe Dominique can still advance that way, even if she can’t beat out the other SI legends in her group. What are your thoughts? Alright, here’s a big batch of results because of the poll system issues. Please see my previous post about my plan to repost the matches that were most affected by the poll system issues. But, these matches below were fine.Enjoy!Group 7Irina Shayk (81.8%) defeated Micheline Lee (18.2%)Lucia Dvorska (54.2%) defeated Jeisa Chiminazzo (45.8%)Group 8Brooklyn Decker (82.6%) defeated Anna Getaneh (17.4%)Fernanda Tavares (65.2%) defeated Erin Gray (34.8%)Group 9Veronica Varekova (78.3%) defeated Suzy Smith (21.7%)Shirley Mallmann (79.2%) defeated Audrey Quock (20.8%)Group 10Anne Vyalitsyna (79.2%) defeated Carla Maria (20.8%)Ehrinn Cummings (64.0%) defeated Lujan Fernandez (36.0%)Group 11Christie Brinkley (69.2%) defeated Jessica Hart (30.8%)Yesica Toscanini (61.5%) defeated Bridget Hall (38.5%)Group 12Kate Upton (83.3%) defeated Carmen Luisa Vela (16.7%)Melissa Keller (60.0%) defeated Alicia Hall (40.0%)Group 13Paulina Porizkova (90.9%) defeated Annette Molen (9.1%)Yasmeen Ghauri (72.7%) defeated Irina Gerasimenko (27.3%)Group 14Bar Refaeli (82.6%) defeated Tanga Moreau (17.4%)Izabel Goulart (75.0%) defeated Pixie Peterson (25.0%)Group 15Heidi Klum (87.5%) defeated Bernadette Swann (12.5%)Lauren Mellor (82.6%) defeated Kylie Bax (17.4%)My spin:There are too many matches to comment on here, but I’m going to highlight those that are most interesting. My biggest shock was Lauren Mellor crushing Kylie Bax. Kylie had a strong showing in last year’s tourney, so she is no slouch. So, Lauren’s margin of victory is very impressive. Heidi Klum may not walk away with first place in the group so easily, after all. Besides that one, most played out according to expectations. The match between Lucia Dvorska and Jeisa Chiminazzo was very close. Lucia was one of the cinderellas in the 2013 tournament, so she was favored, but Jeisa gave her all that she could handle. Personally, I voted for Jeisa, who I don't think gets enough recognition for her SI hotness! What are your thoughts? Post and share them! The latest group tables/standings can be found here. Thanks for voting!

Another important note:I have figured out what I think is the best way to work around the polling issues, which are now resolved. I'm worried that the system stored that people responded but didn't store their responses. In other words, the system may think you have already voted, but it didn't count that vote (or the vote was lost). To avoid this, I'm going to leave the old matches/polls up there, but I'm also going to create brand new polls for the matches that were affected. I will post a few "repost" matches in with the new daily matches from here on out, and people can vote again. I will tabulate the results from both and easily filter duplicates.By the end of a week or so of doing this, we'll be all caught up again. Thanks for your patience while this happened. Usually this poll provider rocks, but this was an isolated incident.
-
It might be a silly question but If it says "thank you for voting" when we click on the poll (without giving options), does that mean it's got our vote already or just that it just thinks it has because of a cookie/cookies? Do we need to delete cookies before voting or has it got our vote already (though at some point it wasn't counting votes) if it just says "thank you for voting"?
It should have your votes, but I have decided to end the possibility of the poll system screwing us anymore.
I will be reposting the matches that are gummed up and recreating the polls themselves, so they'll be like completely new polls to the system. Plan is to add a couple of "repost" matches to the end of the new daily matches. By about a week or so, we'll be all caught up again with brand new polls.
It's the best way I can figure out to work around the issues that were caused by the poll system. Too bad they happened, but the system is usually great. I love it, ordinarily, but this time it got all messed up for us!
-
Important!!The poll provider fixed their problem. That’s the good news. The bad news is that votes for the past few days were not counted. They started counting again early this morning. So, to ensure we have a fair voting…Please vote (again if you already did) for each of the matches below. Don’t worry about whether you voted before. If they are duplicates, they’ll get filtered out, so go ahead and vote. I’ll extend the end date on these if I have to, to ensure we have enough votes to properly count.Sorry for the inconvenience. It’s annoying, I know! Thanks.———Group 16, Match 1Petra Nemcova vs. Barbro EhnVote: http://snack.to/qdtk5o74

There is an issue with the poll provider's results page after they performed server maintenance yesterday. The polls are all collecting, but I can't see the results. Yeah, an inability to see results from a poll makes a poll service difficult to use.
I contacted their support last night, and they expect to have it fixed within 24 hours. Until it is fixed, I won't be able to post any results.
But, at least I was still able to create new polls and keep the voting going with new matches. Now, hopefully it doesn't take weeks to fix.
Thanks!
