So there's interviews for Crazy Eyes with Adam Sherman, Madline Zima and Jake Busey! Lukas was busy I guess. Some quotes about him:
Jake Busey: http://veryaware.com...-and-directing/
During filming, were you still drinking and that’s when you decided to get sober. Did you bring any judgment to the role in terms of your character’s choices?
It was interesting. Lukas [Haas] was sober and playing that character and I was still drinking. I suppose I brought as much of the free-wheelin’, fun with reckless abandon to the character that I could. I think there’s one scene that I really related to that I remember thinking, ‘Wow! We’ve all experienced this one.’ It’s funny. It didn’t really translate until we were shooting it but it’s the scene where I call him and say, ‘Let’s get up and go on a jog.’ And I wake up and I’m totally sweaty and hung over and gotta get out and go on a jog to clear my head. That was one of the moments where I thought, ‘Wow. Been here a million times.’How did the script come to you?
My agent brought it to me or my manager – one of the two – and said, ‘Hey, there’s this movie. It’s an independent film. It’s cool. It’s kinda dark and Lukas and Madeline were attached. I’ve always been a fan of Lukas and I was a huge CALIFORNICATION fan and kinda secretly wanted to meet Madeline for all intensive purposes. Ihadto meet the fucking and punching girl. It was a good cast. I thought the script had a lot of elements that rang true to form with life that were not cheesy, fake, exaggerated or hokey. To me, it felt like it was a real project about real life experiences that happened. It was a story of transformation and awakening.Since you play Lukas Haas’ best friend in the film, did you two hang out off set to for bonding purposes?
We didn’t get a chance to hang out off set too much. We were both busy doing the film. He was working a lot. And when I wasn’t working, I was going through a lot of personal turmoil trying to get my life in order – trying to get my act in gear. I was still drinking. Being that he’s in the program it’s like not that we didn’t get along, it’s just that we didn’t have drinking in common. We got along great on set and joked around and had a grand time. I really think he’s a cool dude. He’s a very intellectual, very artistic dude. I really liked working with him. He’s got a good humor. He’s kind of a wacky dude and I like that. -

A woman and man whose romance is not with each other, but with booze, are the core characters of “Crazy Eyes,” opening July 6. Painful and fascinating, the film is the somewhat autobiographical collaboration between director Adam Sherman and co-writer Rachel Hardisty, who’ve been drinking buddies in real life.
In the film, Zach (Lukas Haas), an independently wealthy guy, divorced and with no anchors to reality, is surrounded by sycophants who hang with him because he buys them drinks and tips lavishly. Crazy Eyes (Madeline Zima), a regular in his disconnected world, refuses his attempts at intimacy and, in her way, challenges his lifestyle. Nothing much happens in the film, but the interplay between Zach and Crazy Eyes is raw, threatening and quite mesmerizing.
And that's just so cleverly written, I wanted to link:
http://thefilmstage....as-the-old-one/
And that leaves us with Crazy Eyes (limited July 6). A cool composition with Madeline Zima and Lukas Haas dejectedly depressed at the bottom while the darkness of their existences floats above, the eccentrically put together array of neon letters at top nicely shines forth.I really like that poster btw. Linked poster expert says the writing is too big, Idk maybe, still makes me want to see it.

Can't stop browsing google groups... So I misunderstood this guy. I thought he was being pseudo-tolerant with the random "regardless of his sexuality" but of course he meant even if Lukas wasn't gay, he'd still be a fan. He calls him his gay idol somewhere else. One reason he seems so random is that he started the same thread three times and is replying to people in the wrong place sometimes, apparently...
I read that Lukas' character in 24 was originally supposed to be beaten to death. I would have suffered some severe emotional trauma! I was wayy invested in that story line. Fortunately they realized this risk and reconsidered!
Now I heard of a few people who think Lukas is a terrible actor, jealous Natalie Portman fans from 1999. Some of those guys had issues... D:
So apropos Natalie: a cute pic from around 2001 - and the one from performing Roses at the MTV awards 2004 ... Or was that already posted?
OK, I'll stop reading now!

Interesting pics!
What would Lukas benefit from stealing a CD at that age?It does say "several years back", so when he was a teenager. Some people (and many, many teens) do shoplift just for fun, for the kick or whatever - no idea!
More importantly, what does that person mean "regardless of his sexuality"? They are the the OP, so they must be referring to a previous thread? I want to read that! It all seems so random.
However, obviously they are correct that Lukas is basically the sweetest thing ever.
As well as all around amazing.

Crazy Eyes movie clip!!!
The kid looks exactly like the director! Hahaww
I just think, Directors get more spotlight than the actorsTrue, at such Q&A sessions, it's usually about the director. I have the impression Adam Sherman does not like public talking at all. He'd probably love to not be in the spotlight. Nevertheless he will be asked most questions. I would even be happy with some nice pics, to be honest.

Zach (Lukas Haas) is a wealthy, alcoholic divorcee and father who is torn between his past love and present infatuation. On the surface, he seems to be living the Hollywood dream—he's got a house in the hills, the phone numbers for dozens of beautiful women in his cell phone, and a hard-partying lifestyle aided and abetted by his best friend Dan (Jake Busey), a bar-brawling womanizer. Zach's obsession for Rebecca (Madeline Zima), a gorgeous, unattainable dream girl he calls "Crazy Eyes," seems to be driving him to the brink of madness and pushing his alcoholism to dangerous extremes. Then there's his family: His ex-wife will not stop finagling him for money, his father suffers a severe stroke and his mother goes mad. As all of this family and personal drama unfolds, Zach's young son may ultimately be the one to teach this boozy lost boy how to become a man. This gorgeous voice!
HIM live was a bit dissapointing. I had the impression Ville was ~too good~ for the festival he was playing at. God, I hate when bands are like that.
Still, I cannot hate this face or voice.

Don't think lines are much of a problem in film in general.
You don't even have to remember them all at once.
Crazy Eyes!!!

So he is in LA today, according to this tweet:
"Just spotted Lukas Haas at the airport. Yay LA. Aside from that LAX is a hot ass mess today.” ACH! Such a crush on him...Don't know if he's done with Jobs or back for a weekend or whatever.
I have another youtube rec: short film "The Youth In Us" (2005) Beautiful, sad film and Lukas is so fucking cute. For some reason the video is unlisted, meaning you only find it if you have the link, but it has well over 30,000 views, so that doesn't seem very exclusive. I guess I embed it anyway? Yep.

Beautiful thread!
I think you can call them friendly rivals. They had conflicts and good times. Prince was once dissing MJ in a song, but several times defending him in the media. I really think most of the conflict comes from being rivals, everyone wanted to be best. Especially Prince had a bit of a chip in his shoulder about it sometimes. I know they both wrote songs for each other, but each refused to sing it. XDBy the way, anyone knows whether he was in some conflict with Michael Jackson and why?
I saw Prince live in 2010 (most amazing concert ever) and he played Shake Your Body by The Jacksons. It was awesome.

I wouldn't exactly call Lukas a wallflower.
He might enjoy people watching, but he also does more socializing and general participating than most people would find time for in 5 centuries. I do see that self promotion doesn't really come natural to him. He is mostly just doing his thing, the world has to notice on its own.
There needs to be more noticing ...
Such great pictures!! The fourth one is my new favorite! (Simon's pink jeans and everything)

I think that is Nicholai, he is the blondest. Lukas was always dark. (The lightening makes his hair lighter than usual in the bottom pic, even.) That's such an adorable photo with Berthold, and, I think, Nicholai! There are also similarities between Lukas and his father, very visible in that picture.
