Image Entertainment has picked up the North American rights to the horror thriller Dark Was The Night: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/image-picks-up-horror-film-767595

"Dark Was the Night received an overwhelming response at ScreamFest and the Film Society in New York,” said Mark Ward, svp in charge of Image acquisitions for its parent RLJ, in a statement. “We are excited to bring this film to the genre community on the big screen and digital platforms."

Image plans to release the film theatrically in multiple cities later this year.

  2. He does look pretty cool with the beard in some pictures!

Do you mean whether it's Saule? I don't recognize her, but it can be hard recognizing people/strangers from different angles...

Pics from last summer ... for facial hair style comparison :)

  3. People seem to love Dark Was The Night!

    I like this review: http://www.best-horror-movies.com/review?name=dark-was-the-night-2014-review

Much of that credit goes to the palpable and enjoyable chemistry between Durand and Haas.  Haas has been around so long (again, I’m referring to him as a veteran actor and he’s only 38 for crying out loud!) that there’s an automatic comfort simply with his recognizable presence.  Ever since Witness and Lady in White, any re-visit with this floppy-eared kid, bathes us in a nostalgic euphoria.  We know him!  We love him!

    LOL IKR?

Premiere Entertainment Group has acquired the foreign sales rights for Caliber Media’s DARK WAS THE NIGHT directed by Jack Heller. The film premiered last week at ScreamFest in Los Angeles, winning Best Visual Effects and Best Special Effects, and will have its East Coast premiere on November 1st at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Scary Movies, New York’s top genre film festival.

Kevin Durand (The Strain) and Lukas Haas (INCEPTION) star and battle with an ancient evil in the upcoming film that CRAVE ONLINE called “an exquisite creature feature.” The script, from Tyler Hisel, appeared on the 2009 Black List of best un-produced scripts, a rarity for the monster genre, under the title THE TREES. Rounding out the cast are Bianca Kajlich (Rules of Engagement), Sabina Gadecki (the ENTOURAGE movie), Heath Freeman (SKATELAND), Steve Agee (@midnight) and Nick Damici (LATE PHASES).

Sales will begin at this year’s American Film Market; the deal was announced today by Premiere Entertainment SVP Sales & Acquisitions Jack Campbell.

    Should be pretty great!

  5. I think it was the Weinstein party. Anyway it was definitely the right kind of party because...

Pro tip: If you don't see Lukas Haas, then you're at the wrong party.
