this quote makes me really excited for the movie. I was kind of wary of the project because.. I don't think we really need another movie about greedy wall street types. It's been done to death and there's only so much you could say about it lol plus I find the guy it's based on (jordan) reallyy sketchy, and it kind of bothers me that he'll profit from the movie. I haven't read the script so I can't compare it to marty's other films, but the reviews on that site weren't that favorable. Not that it's a bad thing to make another goodfellas/casino lol but I guess those people wanted Marty to do something different? and not something so familiar to him. posey: the entertainment industry. she works as a reporter on some show, gets invited to some events (eg. cannes, tiff, etc) and she has interviewed celebs. She does get inside info on some things such as film casting news but I think she's really off base with the leo thing lol

oxford: ooh you read the book/script? did you like it? I loved CMIYC so I really hope it's as funny as that movie. I saw a script review the other day: http://scriptshadow....all-street.html but the responses on that site aren't very good they seem to think that it's too similar to some of scorsese's other films. One comment even mentioned that it seems like a casino/goodfellas mashup. wow they're still adding people to the cast? I hope they're just announcing it late and he's already done with the part because the movie should be done filming soon.. cherrybomb: this is lainey. She isn't that important lol but her site is pretty popular and she works in the industry so people think she's reliable. (even though she is full of shit 99% of the time ) Her articles are actually pretty funny to read because she is so bitter about everything.

She used to slag her off all the time in articles and compared her unfavorably to Leighton. Actually, I think what oxford said is true. I think lainey just really wants to see leo.. pine after a woman? She probably thinks that Leo gets it too easy. this is random, but I watched marvin's room over the weekend and this is one of leo's most underrated performances imo. He gives a great subtle performance. You know what I've always thought? Leo in the 90s would've been perfect for an adaptation of Catcher in the Rye lol he was great at playing the whiny kid (eg. marvin's room, romeo + juliet) sometimes I wish leo would do a small film again..

I like Erin a lot. I follow her on twitter and she seems like a cool person with great taste in music lol. I don't understand WHY she gets so much hate on certain sites. They wanted another "big name" star next to Leo so they could sell the movie as a romance. Scorsese initially wanted a less known actress like Sarah Polley for the part. Anyways, I saw the pics of Charlize with her hair buzzed off I'm sad that she'll be too busy because she seems perfect for the part. oh well, I'm sure they'll get someone great I just read the comments there.. and damn what is their problem? how is leo a pedophile for dating someone in their 20s?

lol lainey is awful. She's probably still hung up on blake/leo because she kept giving "exclusives" about how in love they were. So when they suddenly broke up, it made her stories seem like bullshit anyways, I watched prometheus today and I saw the django trailer before it! the audience at my theater seemed into it so that's a relief.. lol I wonder if Leo is preparing for Wolf. He's still in new york right?

lol the story's probably greatly exaggerated. I've read snippets from the book and he makes Bale sound insane. Anyways, Leo is producing Bale's next movie (out of the furnace) so I doubt there's any bad feelings between them :neo2:

I hope they cast a good actress. I was hoping they would cast Charlize Theron since the character is supposed to be only 1-2 years younger than leo's character. Pami: But I've seen plenty of criticism for those 2 actors.. especially Pitt. The general consensus on Pitt is that he's a limited actor who chooses great projects. No one thinks Cruise is a great actor either lol especially in recent years because he seems to only do action films now. I think Leo gets more criticism because people don't like the movies he chooses. A lot of people think he only does movies to win oscars now (which ties into my previous comment about why I hate seeing "leo is overdue" comments), and I guess they dislike his "desperation". Which is all valid criticism because a lot of his recent choices have been a bit stale. And they're not only picking on leo, Johnny Depp also gets a lot of criticism for his recent movie choices. edit lol sorry, I wasn't talking about you guys. I was referring to comments on other sites. And believe it or not.. that is a major reason why people aren't that fond of leo recently and think he's overrated.

trailer was a bit underwhelming. I think it's meant to draw people to the theaters so they're going to portray it in a comedic way. The thing is.. Leo is a really huge celebrity. People are already extremely familiar with the way he sounds and looks so it's very hard for him to just "disappear" into a role. Do you know what I mean? It's not that he's not good, but he is just too well known and that sort of works against him. It's kind of like how you watch a movie with Angelina Jolie and you still see Angelina Jolie instead of her character? lol So I think that's pretty much why he gets a lot of criticism for his accents. People are so used to his actual voice that they find it a bit jarring when he puts on an accent. For example, one of leo's best roles is arnie grape and the reason why people bought him in that role so much is because no one knew who he was before the movie. A lot of people thought they actually hired a mentally handicapped kid for the part. I can guarantee you that if he were to play a character like that now, it would not be as well received. BTW I wouldn't take imdb comments to heart lol comments on that site are as bad as youtube comments. edit: oh and I think people should calm down with the oscar talks lol we barely see him in the trailer.. plus I don't want him to suffer from "over-hype". If he's good, he'll get a nom. If he isn't, he won't. Unlike a lot of you guys, I don't think the academy hates him at all. He has 3 noms for someone under 40 and that's a pretty big achievement. There are plenty of great actors out there who don't even have a single oscar nom (gary oldman only got his first nom last year). I guess I'm just a little tired of all the "leo is overdue for an oscar" type of comments because .. he isn't. I don't think anyone is overdue for an award, and it just ends up making people dislike him.

I kind of like how he's become too "boring" for the current gossip crowd, but after that blake stuff happened.. he was on all the gossip sites lol it was annoying. I agree, he'll probably never get married esp considering his family background. I like his parents though lol his dad seems like a total hippie but he also gave leo a lot of good career advice (eg. convincing him to do some of the more "artsy" films in his earlier career) anyways, I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I won't be here for the django trailer release I hope it's awesome!

lol leo's love life is a mess tbh. I try not to think about it that much either. Although it greatly amuses me how much his modelizing pisses people off.. you'd think he committed a crime on mel gibson's level or something lol. but yeah.. I'm enjoying his recent low-key-ness. well he's been busy filming lol I'm sure they can stand to be apart for a few months. Anyways, he'll be done with django sometime this month so let's see if there will be pics of him with erin on vacation. I've been wondering about this for a while.. but does anyone else think that the movies he chooses to produce are a bit.. strange? lol I mean they don't really seem like movies he'd be interested in. Red Ridinghood, The Orphan, Akira.. is there a reason why he chose to produce those movies? yeah I guess I'm kind of disappointed because I was hoping that he wouldn't resort to the frowning/intense glare thing he's been doing a lot lately. But yeah.. hopefully it was just the scenes they showcased in the trailer (although the part at the end where it looks like he's attacking tom (?) lol .. that worries me a lot. there should be more subtley there) hopefully we'll see a django trailer soon!

hmm I'm kind of underwhelmed? Visually, it looks gorgeous. I love the vibrant colors, but some of the cgi looks really bad? the city at the beginning seems so obviously fake lol however, they still have a lot of time in post-production to fix up the cgi. As for Leo.. hmm I love him but I wish he played it a little more subtle? I always pictured Gatsby to be more suave and less intense. I guess it doesn't help that he has Luhrmann guiding him and Baz loves theatrics/going over-the-top. I mean.. I was getting shutter island vibes from Leo's acting in some of the scenes lol oh well I guess I'll wait for the movie to come out before judging. It's just so hard not to judge because it's such a well known novel.

lol I hate Entertainment Tonight previews. ughh their voiceovers are awful. weirdly enough, I think Tobey looks pretty good in the preview. I was really worried about him because I only know him from the spiderman movies lol Carey.. idk her voice/accent was a bit weird? It was like she was trying to sound like scarlett o'hara or something. maybe it'll seem less weird in the full trailer. Leo looks alright. but ughh that voice over lol I need the full trailer to come out right now so I can get the awful "love, lust, liquor and leo" out of my head.
