  1. Ronaldo Close To Milan Deal

Ronaldo is close to completing a move from Real Madrid to AC Milan, according to reports from Italy.

The Brazilian superstar has fallen out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu this season, with his fitness and attitude coming under the spotlight.

And now it looks certain that he'll be the latest Galactico to depart the Spanish capital, with David Beckham's departure for LA Galaxy already confirmed.

Spanish daily Marca claimed earlier this week that the Rossoneri have already agreed terms with Ronaldo at six million Euros per season (around £4million).

It appeared Madrid wanted 20million Euros (around £13million) for his transfer, but now Gazzetta Dello Sport claims the fee could be much lower.

They say Milan have only offered four million, but could go as high as 10million, which might be enough to clinch a deal.

  2. Ronaldo to AC Milan?

Italian powerhouse trading figures with Brazilian star

MILAN, Italy (AP) -- AC Milan is interested in signing Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

"The Ronaldo hypothesis exists," Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said Wednesday. "Now, we are waiting to see what Real Madrid has to say."

Italian media reported that Galliani met with the Brazil striker's agent Fabiano Farah on Tuesday and agreed to a deal worth around $7.7 million per season.

"The hypothesis is for a permanent transfer and a contract for a year and a half, at a figure inferior to what I have read in the newspapers today," Galliani said, without disclosing financial details. "The contract is the same one in length that he has with Real. The offer is to free up his contract with a permanent deal."

Gazzetta dello Sport suggested Wednesday that the transfer hinged on whether Madrid was prepared to let the three-time FIFA Player of the Year, who used to play with Milan's city rival Inter, leave without a transfer fee.

Madrid has already rebuffed an offer of $12.9 million for the forward by Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad and want $19.4 million, Gazzetta reported.

Ronaldo came close to joining Milan in August but the clubs failed to reach an agreement. Milan at the time offered $28.4 million for the 30-year-old but Madrid also wanted an option on the Italian team's Brazil midfielder Kaka.

Ronaldo, whose contract expires in 2008, is said to be seeking to leave Madrid during January's transfer window after coach Fabio Capello said that he was surplus to requirements.

Madrid president Ramon Calderon said Monday that it would better for Ronaldo and the club if the player left.

The Brazil star has only scored once in seven league appearances this season -- made mostly as a substitute -- and has been plagued by a knee injury. That compares with 82 goals in 120 league matches in his first four seasons after joining from Inter Milan in 2002.

Milan has struggled in attack this season since Andriy Shevchenko joined Chelsea in the offseason. The Rossoneri are ninth in Italy's Serie A with 23 points after starting the season with an eight-point penalty from a match-fixing scandal.

id love to see Ronaldo playing for Milan.

    Thanks Luno

  3. Ronaldo Ready To Leave Real

Spanish daily Marca is reporting that Ronaldo has given in and agreed to leave Real Madrid this winter.

Fabio Capello and Pedja Mijatovic are said to have reached the definitive conclusion on Monday, that the Bernabeu career of Ronaldo, as well as of Antonio Cassano, is over.

While Capello had hinted on the Cassano bit, he refused to make a public remark on Ronaldo, who, it was understood, was not too keen to leave through the back door.

However, after having been told that he has no future at the club, and would not play a part in the second half of Real's season, El Fenomeno seems to have given in, suggest Marca.

Ronaldo is said to be upset and annoyed, because Mijatovic had only recently told him that Madrid were not looking to transfer him. Now El Gordo seriously is considering the offer from Saudi club Al-Ittihad, who are willing to offer Real 7 million Euros for his services. Al-Ittihad recently secured the services of another former Real player, Luis Figo.

Cassano, meanwhile, is getting closer and closer to a move to Inter Milan -- likely on loan, even though Inter president Massimo Moratti denied interest only two days ago in the Italian forward. However, Inter coach Roberto Mancini is said to be open to the forward's arrival.

    Amen!

Thank God Ronaldo is leaving that shithole.

  5. Ronaldo to pay for poor Real form

MADRID (AFP) - Crisis club Real Madrid are set to cut their losses during the transfer window and ditch their two remaining galacticos Ronaldo and David Beckham.

Real began 2007 as they finished 2006 - with a defeat - and already the knives are out for two of the Bernabeu's biggest, and best-paid, stars.

Coach Fabio Capello met with sporting director Pedrag Mijatovic and president Ramon Calderon on Monday and AS claims he demanded the two stars be sold during the January transfer window.

While Beckham, whose contract runs out at the end of the season, continues to stall over signing an extension, Ronaldo's is a case of time having finally caught up with the three-times world player of the year.

"If you can, sell him during the transfer window," Capello told his bosses, according to Spanish newspaper AS on Tuesday. "In these conditions, he's not part of my plans."

Ronaldo's career has hit the skids over the past two seasons.

Once regarded as the most dangerous and prolific striker in world football, he is now much derided for his expanded waistline and reduced influence on the pitch.

Last season he was frequently jeered by Real's fans and before a Champions League match against Arsenal he made a public plea for patience, while also suggesting he would leave in the close season.

But the new season brought a new coach and Capello decided to give him one last chance, only now his patience has worn thin.

French newspaper L'Equipe has also claimed that Ronaldo, who has played in just seven league games this season, more than half of those as a substitute, and scored a solitary goal, is a bad influence on other players, notably young Brazilians Robinho and Marcelo.

Rumours abound that Ronaldo leads his impressionable team-mates on inappropriate nights out, while he often turns up to train, according to Capello, "in an unacceptable condition for a professional footballer at Real Madrid."

But to blame Ronaldo for Real's malaise this season would be unfair. In all competitions he has taken to the field just 13 times, including six times as a substitute.

His return of four goals and no assists is not what the Bernabeu has come to expect of the once star striker, but given he missed the start of the season with injury and has started only seven of Real's 24 matches in league, cup and Champions League, he cannot be solely blamed for their demise.

Yet Ronaldo's performance in Real's recent slump, which included three defeats in their last four league matches, was not worth his reported 10 million euros a year salary.

A 3-0 defeat at home to newly-promoted Recreativo Huelva saw Ronaldo play 67 minutes and manage only one shot on goal - which missed the target.

He got only 37 minutes as a substitute at Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, a team that had not won in 10 league games, and he managed just two shots this time.

The Brazilian superstar's status at the club has greatly changed.

His former president Florentino Perez, whose galacticos policy at the club initially yielded such great success, once said of him: "I would sooner sell the Santiago Bernabeu than let Ronaldo leave."

But Perez's successor Calderon apparently does not feel the same way.

It is not just Ronaldo under pressure, though. Capello has been criticised for his signings and their lack of success.

Of his summer recruits, only Ruud van Nistelrooy has been a success. Fifteen goals in 21 games in all competitions has seen to that.

But even Italian World Cup winning captain and new world and European player of the year Fabio Cannavaro has not overly impressed and defensive midfielders Emerson and Mahamadou Diarra have become deeply unpopular with Real's attack-hungry support.

Capello's signing of three South American youngsters (Marcelo, Fernando Gago and Gonzalo Higuain) for a combined 35 million euros in the transfer window does not seem likely to solve their issues either.

But the question is, are Real really in crisis. Capello insisted after the Deportivo defeat that they were still enjoying a good season and Mijatovic said after Monday's meeting that the club had faith in Capello and knew how to solve it's problems.

They are third in the league, only five points off top spot despite their recent troubles, and still in both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Some might be glad to suffer such a crisis, but tellingly Capello decided Tuesday to bar the press and public from Real's training sessions.

Real, it seems, have their backs to the wall.

    Thats just fucking ridiculous.

Because of Crapello, Ronaldo doesnt start, he sits on the bench...

Real madrid get thrashed by very poor opposition in consecutive matches, and so the person to blame is... Ronaldo?

and Crapello insists in play that garbage raul...pfft...one of the worst players ive ever seen.

Hope Ronaldo leaves that Madrid shithole and go to England or Italy.

    Fuck Real Madrid and Capello.

Brazilian soccer star Ronaldo dumps model for dentist

RIO DE JANEIRO, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian soccer superstar Ronaldo de Lima, who plays for Spanish soccer team Real Madrid, broke off with his model girlfriend Raica Oliveira before Christmas and celebrated the new year with another Brazilian beauty, dentist Erika Abreu.

According to Brazilian newspaper O Globo on Thursday, the striker, known as Ronaldo, met Abreu, who looks a lot like Oliveira during a dentist's appointment to whiten his teeth during a visit to Rio de Janeiro.

The soccer star then invited the dentist to spend Christmas with his family and the couple then went to Madrid together. From there they traveled to Paris, where Ronaldo has an apartment, to celebrate the New Year.

The O Globo columnist said that Ronaldo has rented a dental surgery in Madrid where Abreu will continue treating his teeth.

  7. RONALDO THINKING SHORT-TERM

Brazil striker Ronaldo claims he is not even thinking about the 2010 World Cup just yet.

The Real Madrid forward is in Rio de Janeiro for the Christmas and New Year break, and the next World Cup in South Africa is the last thing on his mind.

"I'm thinking only short-term goals at the moment," he told GloboEsporte.com. "I cannot even think that far ahead. I am not thinking about 2010, but hope to just go on playing until I do not feel pleasure any more."

Ronaldo has been out of the national team since Brazil's elimination at the quarter-final stage of the World Cup earlier this year.

New coach Dunga has opted not to include him in any of his post-Germany squads, but the 30-year-old expects 2007 to be totally different in the yellow and blue.

"I aim to be always fit and healthy, and not be injured," he added. "I hope this new year will be different and calmer than the one that is finishing."

    fascinating..
