  1. Love the pics by Russell James, so bad we never got scans from V2 book :(

Thanks again jal for the Esquire scans, love it ... Her body looks amaziing & i love her silly faces

I promise I'll get around to it. My scanner broke and I haven't gotten around to picking up a new one. I haven't forgotten, though!

  2. Actually that's not true. When I was about 15 pounds underweight, (according to my doctor and a dietitian) I had to contort to make my spine seen. Regardless, getting off the debate on to skinny, not to skinny, and what not, the point is the picture should never have made it to print with VS. It should not be featured on their website, and it shouldn't be in their catalog.

Just curious as to why you think that. Sure, spine isn't exactly sexy, but it isn't offensive/unsexy either. I'd consider it pretty neutral in that photo, not unlike a knee or elbow. If it's a body-image issue, I think it's already been made clear that seeing someone's spine--especially their lower spine--isn't a particularly strong weight indicator. If it's an aesthetic issue, as above, I'd say it isn't particularly noteworthy. I suppose they could have photoshopped the protrusions out, though that would open up an entirely different discussion all together.

  3. Due to a request from Emily, I have removed the images I had previously posted in this thread. Thank you to the Bellazon member who passed the message along.

All of the images were readily and publicly available online, but I am removing them due to the personal request and of my own volition. It is unfortunate, as Emily is truly a beautiful woman who deserves much more exposure than she is receiving, but I hope that in time she will become more comfortable with the type of attention being a model attracts. In the meantime, I understand that she is young and that seeing a collection of photos all in one place can be a bit jarring, so hopefully Bellazon members can understand my removal of the photos.

  4. Short story time: I'm relatively new to Photoshop. I've had it for years, but I never really ventured much further than some basic image correction. I've decided to play around with it a bit more, so today's project was colorizing a black and white photo: one of Candice's from the recent Mario Testino shoot. I did a really rough attempt earlier to lock down my approach, then worked longer than I care to mention on this one. A bit tedious, but an interesting exercise nonetheless. Some of the details are a bit off (my eyes started to cross by the end), and the colors are probably a bit too bright, but hopefully some of you get a kick out of it.

The background is purple because when I was playing around it reminded me of a VS shot and made me smile. If someone would like a more neutral color, just let me know; it's a very quick fix. The egotastic tag, unfortunately, remains, as it was the cleanest version of the image I had to work with.

And no disrespect to Mr. Testino. His black and white shot was breathtaking. It was an exploration of "can I?" not "should I?".

  5. A documentary about the Pirelli Calendar, La Saga du Calendrier Pirelli, is being shown on French television (the Paris Premiere channel) this Saturday, November 13. The Paris Premiere site has created a gallery of teaser screen grabs. Here is a shot of Rosie I don't believe I've seen before:

  7. A documentary about the Pirelli Calendar, La Saga du Calendrier Pirelli, is being shown on French television (the Paris Premiere channel) this Saturday, November 13. The Paris Premiere site has created a gallery of teaser screen grabs. Though a lot of them are directly from past Pirelli "behind the scenes" videos, this shot of Miranda seems to be of footage we have not seen before (or, at least, not in this quality).

There are also other shots I have not seen in previous Pirelli Calendar 2010 videos (namely of the "mud wresting" shoot and one of Rosie), so hopefully there will be some (more) never before seen footage of Miranda.
