    Kaká

Kaka says no to Ronaldinho Kaka insists that Milan will fail in their bid to sign Barcelona ace Ronaldinho – but he’s hopeful that Andriy Shevchenko could return. The Blaugrana star has been heavily paired with the Rossoneri over the past few months, while the Ukrainian may be assessing his future after his struggles at Chelsea over the last year. “I think Milan have moved further away from Ronaldinho if compared to three months ago,” said Kaka in an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I don’t think he will move here as he seems set to stay at Barcelona,” added the South American. “As to Sheva, I really hope he comes back. I speak to him often, but unfortunately there are rules in football so you can’t just turn around and leave. “I am sure he would already be here if the decision was only up to him, but it seems there might be some problems. “[barcelona’s] Samuel Eto’o is an alternative as he is a great player, but Sheva would have no difficulty in adapting immediately as he knows everyone here.” Kaka is one of the leading contenders to win this year’s Golden Ball and he admits he didn’t expect to be in the running so soon into his career. “I was there in 2002 when Ronaldo lifted the trophy during the celebrations for Real Madrid’s centenary. It was an incredible emotion,” explained the 25-year-old. “I would have never imagined that I would compete for the Golden Ball at my age. “I haven’t won it yet, but it is flattering to hear that so many important players are suggesting that I should be the winner,” continued the Champions League top scorer. “My first objective is the Intercontinental Cup. I am aware that the Champions League is more prestigious, but the Intercontinental Cup is especially fascinating for a Brazilian. “With regards to next season, we will compete with Inter for the Scudetto. This time there will be no point deductions to ruin the championship.” Boss Carlo Ancelotti recently renewed his contract, which now expires in 2011 just as Kaka’s, and the player confirmed that he has no intention of leaving Milan despite Real Madrid’s courtship. “I spoke to the Coach and I told him that together we can win everything with Milan. We have chosen our future. Real Madrid can forget about me, at least for now.”
  2. Fenerbahce have confirmed that they have signed Roberto Carlos from Real Madrid. According to the official website, Carlos' agent Dino Pasalic arrived in Turkey on Tuesday night, and met with Murat Ozaydinli, one of the club vice presidents, to finalize the details. Ozaydinli has confirmed that the deal is now official, and the player will arrive in Turkey to complete his medical and sign the contract in the coming days. "We signed a player who perfectly fits with Fenerbahce's traditions," he told the club's official website. "Everybody must be grateful to our president Aziz Yildirim. In the past, we could not mention even the names of ordinary players. "But today, we can even sign such legendary players without having any problems. "For the last two years, Fenerbahce are being talked upon on all corners of the world and this was our main target. "Our meeting about Roberto Carlos' transfer took only 15-20 minutes. We told them our principles and it was all over. "Dino [Palasic] came to Turkey late at night, we had a meal together and the deal was sealed. This is about the power of Fenerbahce, this is about the synergy we created here at Fenerbahce." The news will not come as a surprise, as it was a deal said to be in the pipeline, though there was also the faintest of chances that he could have spent another year at the Bernabeu. He leaves Madrid after eleven long seasons, during which he has won three Champions League trophies (98, 00, 02) and three La Liga titles (97, 01, 03). Interestingly, his first and last seasons have both seen him play under Fabio Capello.

    Jenson Button

Button looking forward to Montreal challenge Jenson Button is looking forward to travel to Canada. The Honda driver always enjoys the special atmosphere that the city of Montreal has during the Formula 1 weekend. Button will have to work hard as the 27-year-old Briton has yet to finish within the top ten this season. Speaking about the upcoming Grand Prix Button said: "The Canadian Grand Prix is one of my favourite races on the F1 calendar. Montreal is a fantastic city and the atmosphere over the race weekend is amazing. The Canadians are huge Formula One fans and Montreal puts on a terrific street parade." Button furthermore explained about how to complete a good lap at the Gilles Villeneuve track: "The key to a quick lap around the circuit is being able to ride the kerbs and you need to have a car, which can do this comfortably. You have to be precise because if you hit the kerbs in the wrong place, then you'll probably end up in the wall. The biggest challenge is getting the last chicane before the pits just right. You can have a perfect lap all the way round but if you hit those kerbs badly, it will throw you off. Getting off the grid cleanly is also important as the first couple of corners are very tight with all 22 cars trying to squeeze through, although you can overtake here if the opportunity presents itself. The hairpin at turn ten is probably the best opportunity for overtaking and where you can see some pretty exciting racing."

    ShahRukh Khan

SRK yet to get RBI clearance on 'gifted' property NEW DELHI: For nearly two years, film actor Shah Rukh Khan has been trying to figure out if a property he got as a gift from a Dubai-based builder is in conformity with Foreign Exchange Management Act (Fema). He's yet to get an answer from the Reserve Bank of India which has been sending the papers from one ministry to another. Khan's case is instructive about how the central bank and the government deal with files, even those of celebrities. The good bit about the episode is that it has forced the Centre to finally interpret how Fema is to be used for property acquisitions abroad. The position that has now been honed is this: Any real estate acquisition by a foreigner in India is subject to compliance with Fema guidelines. Also, real estate that an Indian resident purchases aboard is subject to Fema rules. But anything that's gifted does not fall within the purview of the Act ^ a position which will comfort Khan but has not yet been formally conveyed to him by RBI. When contacted by TOI, Khan confirmed that he was still waiting for the communication. The delay is only in keeping with the wariness of different government agencies to take a call on his case. Sources said RBI was unwilling to take the responsibility of clearing transfer of the property from the real estate developer to Khan and sought the safe way out by sending the matter to the finance ministry to see if the deal was in compliance with Fema. The finance ministry, in turn, sent the proposal to home ministry "to see if there were any security implications" and also to the urban development ministry (since the proposal was related to the real estate sector) and MEA. While others would have given up, Khan persevered, making inquiries about his request for clarification on the matter. That's when the finance ministry got active and asked for comments from the other ministries which did not see any problem with Khan's acquisition of the Dubai property. Accordingly, a couple of months ago, North Block wrote to RBI saying that it had nothing to do with the proposal since it did not involve an issue that was related to Fema violation. However, Khan may still face a scrutiny by the tax department. The taxmen have not been nosing around yet, but may soon enter the picture if Khan becomes a brand ambassador of the builder who "gifted" the property to him.
