Gorgeous post shepherd. one of my favorites, thanks- Elle Fanning
(Extract from Vogue magazine September issue) Why is Elle Fanning in such high demand? Just sweet 16, actress Elle Fanning has an enormously successful film career and a killer eye for fashion It’s not difficult to pinpoint exactly why Fanning is in such high demand. She brings to her roles a naturalism and un-cloying sweetness. Actor Nicholas Hoult, who stars opposite her in Young Ones, says, "Elle is incredibly smart and wise. She can transform on-screen, making subtle and smart choices, and then morph back into being a teenage girl after they call cut without skipping a beat." It's Fanning's combination of cool aesthetic and sunny attitude (as anointed by Sofia Coppola) that first caught the attention of Rodarte, Miuccia Prada, Marc Jacobs, for whom Fanning has modelled in campaigns, and Karl Lagerfeld, who invited her to attend Chanel couture when she was 13. Not least the editors and stylists and photographers who fight to put her in magazines. Fanning wears her fame lightly. She ditched home schooling for high school because "I didn't really have friends my own age," and now combines her movie career with homework, ballet classes and Saturdays spent thrifting in LA with friends.- Ming-Na Wen
