  1. It's kind of odd how Forbes keeps referring to his "signature scar". I mean.. Yes, it's recognizable, but they make it sound like the scar makes Mathias famous, which is really a bit backwards <_< People often notice the scar, but it's not like you can't tell it's him unless you see it. He has an extremely recognizable look, across his Entire face. I don't see how a single scar is that important when you have a face like Mathias, where anyone that's ever seen him will identify him (or at least remember where they saw him before). I mean, I didn't even know who he was a while ago, but I knew it was the same guy I'd seen from a *single* photo shoot months before.

Although they do raise a good point about male models in the industry. But tbh, I don't think it has much to do with men buying the products, as much as one major difference: With female models, girls often look up to them, and are comfortable promoting their image and buying their endorsed products because they think they're attractive, sexy, and/or interesting as people. What man is going to comfortably admit to having a favorite model, endorsing their products, or promoting their name/image? That's considered to be borderline homosexual behavior for many straight men :yuckky: Whereas women are more comfortable around sexy women, and they don't mind saying so!

(at least, in my experience. Women are "beautiful", Men are not nature's idea of beauty, yadda yadda.)

A real shame, imo. But then, I'm not a dude, I can't really relate

  2. I am really touched too by the story, I just wish that there are more stories like that. You shouldn't put people on a pedastall if they are famous or good-looking or whatever, it would prevent you from knowing that person fully because you would literally worship them.

I agree, when you know that people are going to envy you for something, somehow you feel like you should almost immediately self-deprecate EVERYTHING you do so that you will be on the same level as them and be accepted. I don't get it, but sometimes I do it because if I didn't, I would feel bad :( And its almost more difficult if they are your friends or family. They do, in a way, kill your dreams or ambitions but on the other hand, they might be trying to make you see the reality so that we wouldn't end up being heartbroken or something. That is how I see it anyway :p But with Mathias, who wouldn't want to meet him? All my girlfriends LOVE him!

Yes i totally agree that you shouldn't put other people on a pedestall regardless of successful status, like you said it would prevent people from meeting people like Mathias someone as extraordinarily amazing as him, and especially those you can really relate to on so many levels.

It's really hard thinking about people who envy your success because then it wouldn't be fair on yourself to limit yourself when everyone feels the need you should stay on the SAME stepping block as they are, i think if you had immense talent and potential to exceed in anything you want in life , the question you really have to ask yourself is are you going to be content with yourself having to worry about people who have certain expectations on you.. i think it's really about taking control in your life and what makes you happy , also to disremember the people who want less of you. Parents for example try and see the postive outlook on the things you want to persue in life so it's that they try to wake you up and see the reality trying to avoid the process of seeing their loved ones hurt so i completey understand that a 100%.

Hmm not many of my girlfriends know much about Mathias, they joke around with me and say "who is my latest admiration , perhaps another french singer" lol...To me Mathias is more an appreciation and respect than admiration i think i really respect mathias, i like to think the the idea of keeping him secretive is more respectful, because nowadays girls talk unseemly about men, you know how it is.

  3. With what I have read about Mathias, I have to be on the same boat as you. But then again, you are right, you wouldn't know what he is really like unless you actually know him very well. So what we could all do is to have an idealistic version of him in our head. But to be honest, with or without camera, I believe Mathias is just as genuine and as nice :)

The ideals that the society portrays are soo hard to live up to. A while ago the whole "size 0 debate" made people think "why would people want to be as thin as that?" But then again, you will always have people who secretly wants to be just as skinny, even if it means purging the food out or starving yourself to death. Me and my friends are seriously not in the popular gang, infact, we are quite the opposite but we have a connection and we love a good rave now and then. But we have never been to the club before! Ahaha, how ironic? but I don't think that going out every Saturday to get pissed is my thing either, I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. Some people might think that I am boring but to be honest, I don't want to die young.

And I really hope that Mathias will not run away from the cameras in the coming fashion weeks.

To be able to tell what kind of person a guy really is, is how he corresponds with his co-workers and friends and so on and like you said camera or no camera in Mathias's businiess i think he has handled everything and everyone in a very considerate, well-mannered way and that's enough to tell us otherwise so im quite gratified to know that he is a respectable person, in his interview they asked him what he wanted to strive for and he said to become an 'adult' so i think in many ways he's maturing in a very delectable way.

yes the idealistic society that it portrays are hard to live up to especially in terms of the fashion industry, they expect full on perfection and im not happy with it myself because this is the kind of example they are exposing to all girls and woman of all ages, i think for me what makes a classy woman is a confident woman....

a friend of mine was telling me about a woman who attended a party whom she spotted a really tall blonde handsome guy in the crowd and she instantly told her friend about him, she wanted to know his martial status and things like that. It turned out he was single, so she decided to give it a shot at this particular guy and get to know him, all of a sudden she mistakenly noticed he was looking at her across the room ....and when she tried to approach him it turned out he wasn't even interested in ther.. he was looking past her keen on another lady behind her. The woman he was interested in didn't come as close as looking gorgeous to the woman who was really interested in him. He noticed how confident she was, the details like how she held her champagne glass and how she smiled and laughed with her friends. I think sometimes it's not always about how you look, it's about feeling great in your own skin, feeling confident is key to anything.

....I don't know about every day life, i think it's just a matter of choosing the right people to hang out with but on the other side you will constantlty get judgemental people outside the lines you normally hang out with . I don't think it's fair to judge people in the first place because only they know their own pain and renunciation to begin with unless you really get to know a person.

  6. Oh wow, looks like you and Mathias are quite compatible then! Lol :D

I guess I have always been different, I don't see the point in conforming. Well, actually, I did try to when I was 14. Everyone in my year started to listen to some real punk and rock music, having casual sex and smoking weed. I once contemplated smoking weed but then I didn't at the end. Looking back, I am proud that I didn't conform into one of those girls because then I would have lost my true self. The interviews of Mathias do give us insight into his personality and I like the way how he didn't turn out to be this arrogant model. I can relate to him that way in that both us don't see the point in being like everyone else. But yeah, word interviews aren't enough! WE NEED MORE TV INTERVIEWS OF HIM...AMEN!

  7. People do want you to settle for less because they are afraid that you will get something better than them. I don't tend to let that annoy me because at the end of the day, why should I lay boundaries on who I want to meet in life? I really think that if you are not intimidated by the person and treat them like a normal human being, you will have a bigger chance of a friendship or something more. I really like that story you told me, its so sweet. I seriously don't think otherwise, you never know who you will meet!
  8. Quote Canadian_girl :" there's more to him than just his looks and i think people don't realize that...."

    I do !

When I saw the Belstaff video where Mathias interviewed the very shy Mael, I instantly knew that he is a nice guy. If you read the few interviews you learn that he is clever.

All people who met him said he is nice, sweet, shy , polite ......

and I hope this is realy true and about Mathias :

"this is fun ; one of my friends used to date him(!!!), but it was years ago now. i remember her talking about him being a fantastic kisser(!!!??) - no wonder, those lips"

( found this on an Asian Mathias homepage, so I am not sure)

Sometimes Mathias seems to good to be true!

  9. Hi guys,

It´s realy time to say that you are all wonderful  and this thread is the best on bellazon  . We are helping each other with posting pics and video ( youtube). what I always missed was that there were no discussions about Mathias , but now we are doing it and that´s great.

Special thanks again and again to Faith.

Last year about May or June I found my first picture of Mathias drooled a bit ,and then more and more and after I found out who he is at model.com I saw all the wonderful pictures on " Oh Danish boy" ( still love that titel).

A few days ago someone wrote Mathias said NO to an interview with fashion TV but he said YES to the interview with Faith  .

He knew that Faith is someone special.

No need to mention, that Mathias is also someone special !

HI just a quick note on what you said. I thought this forum might have it's potential on having some meaningful discussions so i joined and im happy to see that it did, i was looking through some of the other forums ,,,i was kind of tired of having to read countless times that Mathias is hot' or sexy'.. there's more to him than just his looks and i think people don't realize that....

  10. I really hope so, somehow I have a feeling that he will do an interview in both Milan and Paris, or in just one of them! I am crossing my fingers. I watched the Belstaff interview yesterday and I was like "sbfobspifbs\ipbisbgibrgibirbguirebgikdng" He has that effect on me... :p

I would go to Paris but alack, the lack of money is the problem!

Well he does have has a nice aura about him that's so compelling, i think it's hard not to be because of his sincerity ... i think its rare for men to have this type of demeanor,, he has this quick effect on people and that's why he's instantly likeable, people like working with the relaxed and friendly as opposed to loud and obnoxious people and that's why he's #1 out of the 50 top models.

I think the idea of Paris and Mathias is also compelling lol .. i hope you get the chance ,i'd like to get the pleasure of meeting him as well but if that doesn't happen a girl can always dream...

Hm yeah, the quite and sweet one always wins over the loud and in-your-face-one, although I quite like people who are bubbly but are nice too :) I would love to talk to him just to see what kind of intellectual level he has and whether we have a connection or not. Lol, but you are right, a girl can always dream!

To be brutally honest with you i think i've always been surrounded with obnoxious people, i really do have a few great friends but others can be quite repugnant at times and even people i see on a regular basis, i've always tried running the other direction because i don't intend on being this way but they've all kinda have to be there at it's usual point so i still remain my cool. I admire mathias because he has this good character about him and i still intend on being like him, that's what i strive for and i hope i can be fortunate enough to tell him thanks for giving me a good head on my shoulders.

we can dream but i've always believed anything is possible,,so just remember that. ;) il y a toujours l'espoir, that's french for "there is always hope"....

I know what you mean, seeing everyone being the same would make you want to "run in the other direction". I don't get why people in my school dresses the same and etc, I just don't get it! And yeah, there will always be people who are sooo annoying and oboxious. I mean, I am really outspoken and to be honest with you, people in my year don't like me becuase of it but most of the time I am being honest and I am really harmless. My friends understands me but sometimes I can get passionate really easily and people find my enthusiasm really intimidating. I guess with this laid-backness, its definitely something that I can learn to be! And also yeah, be more calm.

Well, i don't know about you but i always exhaust the immediate resources of people in school like you said people dress the same or people think a certain way because of popularity. I certainly don't base my ideas on pop culture as much as what i have see in the people around me. I am an architect, i like to build it to make things the way i want according to what i feel and be my own self . i think i see that a little in mathias, from what i read atleast..for example, he mentioned that he likes people who are dressed according to how they are. The interviews of him are the most amazing display of someone's character in words that i have ever read, But the truly intriguing part of this experience of his interviews was every thing he was saying, was literally something i could relate to. He seems to be an amazing person, and this world needs more people like him.

  11. Ahhaha, I thought that I ought to post this pic. Its the wall of fame aka the Mathias wall in my school's common room. if you don't know what a common room is, its just a place where you hang out with your friends during break and lunch times and free lessons periods.

    ENJOY!

    Nice- Looking Shrine. :)

Ahhaha, thank you. 80% of it is now in the recycling bin and before you attack me for my insane act, you need to know that me and my friends have to clear our the entire common room. I couldn't possibly take all the posters with me :( One might argue that I can stick them in my bedroom but since I go to a boarding school and I am leaving this year (to go to Uni) the situation will occur again in a few weeks time and I will eventually have to ruthlessly bin those posters away. I was thinking whether I should take all the posters with me so I can stick them up in my Uni room but then again, I don't want my flat mates to think that I am this loser-ish hag fantasising over this model who I will never meet. But mind you, I kept the really good looking ones and my other friend also kept a few of those too :D So I will definitely pin the remaining 20% in my future accomodation!

Oh that's a shame for those beautiful pictures, actually when i use to take art courses, at the end of each of my semester i became more and more flustered as to where i'd put all of my work because i had way too many stuff, but i didn't want to chuck any of the work that i had done so eventually i organized my stuff and kept them in a portifolio, and i still have it in my room. You can always have a scrapbook of some sort and keep all of his pictures if that's more convenient for you and of course you don't have feel apprehensive about exposing your admiration for mathias to anyone, unless they came across your things lol. but i can understand where your comming from.. i use to have this huge admiration for this fabulous french singer and i use to listen to him a lot and people started noticing because i'd get way too caught up in his songs so they told me things like i fantasize too much and i kinda told them off and said i'd rather not be demoralizing or boring and be more of a creative & imaginative person in my own thoughts, I think dreams come after our creativities, and thus makes us expand our horizons and greater knowledge in things, we become more eccentric in the way we think,a visionary i'd say....besides there is nothing wrong with admiring a person from a far, as much as everyone would like to deny i think every person infatuates or admires someone, whether it's a celebrity,a friend, girl/boyfriend, a wife or husband, it's all the same ...in my opinion.

I know, its such a shame. I would put them all in a portfolio but then again, that would mean that I have extra things to pack. But don't you worry, I have already stored away the 20% in my folder of posters, photos and etc that I decorate my room with :) So its not too bad!

Thank you for understanding my point with me being apprehensive with people knowing my admiration on Mathias. I think that there is nothing wrong with admiring someone from afar, I mean, its all harmless! But I think that when you like someone from afar who is in the public eye, somehow I get the feeling that people would think "oh geez, be realistic, like someone who you can actually talk to you loser". You get what I mean? I guess I can see their point, I mean, if I admire a guy from my Uni or something and people know about it, they wouldn't think that way. Blehh, just wish that people are more open minded about things like that! He is my pin-up and soo WHAT????

Its all the same, I don't see why liking a person in the public eye makes you a "loser"!

No i know what you mean,,and I know people expect you to be logical in terms of things, i get that a lot too but the thing is people only want you settle for less and at times people try to set limits for you and therefore you also set certain limits for yourself as well. Someone i once knew came across a celebrity (she was miss lebanon, part ukrainian) he had adored her for quite some time, he told her that he has aware she had many people ask her out all the time but if she could give him a chance and ask out her out for coffee himself and if she wasn't interested she could always walk away...i know it sounds totally out there for him to do that but the surprising part is that she eventually got engaged to him. He chose to color outside the lines and ignore what people said to him and i think people were as shocked as he was. so, just because people think you'll never meet Mathias don't let them make you think otherwise...

  16. Help! :(

    I found this video: http://models.com/fashionweek/view_photo.p...p;id=KCole1000k

It´s from Kenneth Cole backstage spring / summer 06 at the end Mathias is walking through the crowd . The video is not at you tube. :banghead:

How can I load it down ?

open "www.keepvid.com"..and find the url of dat video..

    put on it.. :)

ahaha,oh lauridsen.. i think as soon as he saw the camera he bolted out from the scene but it's always nice to see a couple minutes of him... he looks great, very captivating.

  17. i totally understand that he's quite the shy guy, what i don't understand is why he'd refuse an interview when he did rather well backstage at the belstaff show, but anyway hope to see another one from him as well...

Oh and the clip i was talking about is posted above. :)

Hmmm well, maybe he didn't feel like it on that day? Who knows, but yeah, I think its unanimous that we ALL want to see Mathias doing more (hopefully tonnes to go round for everyone :p) interviews in the coming Milan and Paris fashion weeks :D Lol, I feel like going to Paris just to bump into him considering it takes me 50 minutes to go to St.Pancras in London and then about 2 hours from St.Pancras to Paris via the Eurostar...

Yeah for sure, some of the biggest international fashion affairs are from Paris and Milan and we could potentially get some interviews from him, his success level at the fashion industry has gone fairly high now so i think many of the journalists will be swooning around him constantly demanding interviews from him and see what they can get out of him, let's keep our fingers crossed.. but in the mean time why not go to paris, sounds like lot of fun and if your lucky you might just bump into Mathias. ;)

  18. Sorry Canadian girl!

At the moment I can only find another picture ( which you posted a few days ago) but no information.

It's ok i actually came across it on youtube, it's from Kenneth Cole Spring 2006. Thanks anyway. :)

  19. lol well, if you read carefully you might see that we're talking about Mathias too. :p

...controversiaster, i have to say you know your football quite well. btw do you know when's his next show comming up? maybe we'll get to see more of his backstage stuff , perhaps an interview. :)

Lol, football is not my forte at all!

Well, next month is the Paris Men's Fashion week and my friend told me that it happens between mid to late June :) So prepare yourself, new Mathias pics are ont the way soon NEXT MONTH

I would honestly love it if he is going to do some major interviews for fans like us to drool over, maybe ask some interviewer from FTV asks him to tell us a joke or dance in a funny way, whatever! Just as long he is not saying the boring, old, generic stuff "oh I am wearing this X backstage at X and the designer is X and ...." SO BORING!! Not that I will ever be bored with Mathias :p But it would be a nice window opportunity for us here to know more about him, at least visually ie the possible dancing, anyway!

Yeah that would be nice, im looking forward to seeing some more of his work.

actually i do have fashion TV on satellite, some of the interviewers do come off boring asking the most simple questions like where are you from and what are the things your wearing for the show and so on but i guess they have to do their job as professionally as they can, there was one backstage video where the models were playing football outside and i thought mathias would be round playing as well but they only showed a split second of him during the time they were getting ready for the show. Have you seen it?

Anyway, Im beginning to think mathias is trying to withdraw from the cameras lol

  20. lol well, if you read carefully you might see that we're talking about Mathias too. :p
