Fernando Morientes to leave Marseille The experienced Spanish striker Fernando Morientes is to leave Ligue 1 club Marseille after the last year of his contract was cancelled by mutual consent. The former Real Madrid, Valencia, Monaco and Liverpool forward had struggled to command a regular place at Marseille and last season played 12 times, scoring just one goal. A three-times Champions League winner while in Madrid, the 34-year-old also scored 27 goals in 47 appearances for Spain.
