Kobe in da house:
aww snap. . .
finally, Bulls can get that low post presence. They've had too many guards for years. I don't think they should let Ben go thoughI really doubt Ben Gordon will re-up with the Bulls. Last year he was a restricted free agent, and the Bulls didn't make him any offer, and he didn't sign with other teams, only to become an unrestricted free agent this year. They had an amazing season, but I doubt it'll be enough to convince Ben to stay.
----
BTW, Grant Hill signed a new deal with the Suns. I'm kinda sad for this.
-
Stay tuned for: Amare Stoudemire to Golden State, Kirk Hinrich to Portland, and Ben Gordon to Detroit.
There are rumors for a 3way deal between Blazers, Bulls & Jazz, that will land Tyrus Thoms in Utah, Carlos Boozer in Chicago, and Kirk Hinrich in Portland. Not sure what Portland is giving up though, but this one helps them a lot.

^ Milan was supposed to start rebuilding a couple of years ago. The years won't give them any special treatment. They're getting old.
Did they get Dzeko from Wolfsburg?
-------
Liverpool signed Glenn Johnson for £16,000,000
OK, I like the kid, but I'm not sure if he deserved to be the most expensive defender in 'pool history?
Nevertheless, I think he'll be a good addition. Congratulations Ed.

Wait ... so is Ariza leaving Lakers? Oh God
and did i hear right .. Shaq may join Lebron. Oh God. This is gonna be an interesting upcoming season. And it's gonna coincide with the World Cup .... looks like I won't be getting any rest.
Both deals are done already. Ariza is a Rocket, and Shaq is a Cav now.
I just searched it. Jordan Crawford plays for Xavier, but still, its a little ridiculous. Lebron lives in the era of hip hop being pop and bragging about what you have and especially Kanye West. :|He can't help it.
Well, Kobe got dunked on by OJ Mayo before OJ entered the league as well. He didn't even care. Instead he talked with respect about the younger talent, and in response, Mayo (who now is called the new Kobe) respects Kobe a lot. Kobe had the right to ask the Nike menagement to collect all the recordings as well.
Appearentely though, a guy whose tape got taken away, said that this dunk was a really bad one. LOL.
Well Bron, this you deserved today.
-
whatd he do?
Earlier he wore a shirt that said "MVP", than one that said "Check My $tats", than made some comments, which made quite sure he'll be leaving to NY (I didn't see the last one, just saw it mentioned earlier), and well, while all of them are a little cocky, they're all acceptable.
But yesterday he got dunked on by a highschool kid named Jordan Crawford in a pick up game, and afterwards made sure all recordings of it are confiscated. That was really low of him.
All the great names have been embarresed at certain points in their career. He should have acted like a bigger guy. <_<

Wait, what the hell is going on. Now it's the turn of the Spurs, and they're going to sign Antonio McDyess. Awesome addition.
After trading for Richard Jefferson, and signing Marcus Haislip, I think Spurs GM is guaranteed to get the "GM Of The Year" award. Honestly I'm losing track on which team is better than the other. The following season is going to be amazing.
Plus AI to Miami rumors are heating up. I don't want this deal to go through though. They'll hurt each others scoring numbers. I still wish AI would go back to Philly, or at least to another team like Mavs, Hawks, Jazz, or even Bobcats, where he will be a much better fit.
BTW, I always claimed that LeBron has a much much bigger ego than Kobe (and any other player), in this offseason he is trying his best to prove me right. :|
-
Now there are rumors that Dallas Mavericks will get Shwan Marion. Though as far as I know, if Raptors sign and trade Marion (for Jerry Stackhouse) they won't have the right to offer Hedo anything more than MLE. Another possibility is Oklahoma City signing Marion, and then trading for Stackhouse. Stackhouse has a 7 mil. contract (only 2 mil guaranteed), and Marion can't get more than 9 mil in his first year of contract, so it'll cost OKC 2 mil, which Mark Cuban will probably erase. After signing new contracts with Kidd, and Terry, and signing Marcin Gortat as a free agent, this deal. *applause* Plus it's not like they're done yet. They want to trade Dampier for Rip Hamilton. I'm not sure if Pistons will go for it (they might get better offers), but I definitely respect Cuban. At least he tries everything within his power to make his team better, and now IMO they are serious contenders.
Chris "Birdman" Andersen resigned with Nuggets. Funny how Nuggets kept their squad together, and yet on paper they look like they went from being the 2nd best team in the West, to being the 5th best. :|
I love this offseason.
Especially considering the annoying offseason we're having in football.
-
Ambrosini to be the new captain - I kinda understand why though - Nesta is always injured, Rino is a beast but he can't lead, Pirlo is apathetic and Seedorf is DutchCR9? He better do R9 proud with that shirt.
Please don't tell me that Cristie will actually be wearing #9!
ENE!!!!! Have you been keeping up with Valencia?Valencia have bought Moya, Mathieu, Bruno Saltor, which appear to be pretty good signings.
Although I think Moya is a good addition, I was really looking forward to seeing more from Renan this season
I thought Mathieu was a DM, but he's listed as an LB? I don't mind as he'll give us options around the pitch. For LB, we have Moretti and Del Horno already, but I don't really like either and hopefully we can get rid of at least one and let Carleto start challenging for a first team spot. Other than that we're he'd be good back-up in the midfield if anyone gets injured.
Bruno to reinforce RB, and fighting with Miguel.
Edu has been released and we should sell Viana too, they're both deadwood for a club in crisis and we have Albelda, Baraja, Maduro and Fernandes in those positions, not to mention Ever should be coming back hopefully
Banega's got so much talent but someone needs to nurture it and work on his mentality
There are rumours we've rejected bids for Marchena as well, who we'll need to pair Alexis now that Albiol is gone. I haven't seen too much from Lomban or Arturo but youngsters normally need time to adapt. I don't trust Navarro either... I thought we sold him already -__- At least we can use Maduro to do the job - he's defensively suspect but some of his tackles are superb.
I haven't seen Rangers play but I don't think Aaron is ready to take over for any of our forwards yet. Pablo, Aaron and Joaquin pairing with Zigic (ugh!) and possibly Negredo if our forward triumvirate leave? :yuckky: I hope we can at least keep Mata
AND WHO THE FUDGE IS DEALBERT???!!!!!
I had only heard about us signing Bruno Saltor. But Miguel is one of my favorite players, so I wasn't that excited. Hopefully he'll help us though.
I agree with you about Moya. He may give us a little flexibility, but I think Renan was solid. I'd consider it as a move to open up a spot for an international player, but now Edu is waived, and it's not like we're using our internationals, either. Lets have our hopes, on us signing a great young talent.
We'll need a quality CF, with Villa, and Moriantes likely to be gone.
Mathieu is the one I watched the most probably, and in Toulouse he was playing in the mid-field, as a left winger. He seemed really fast, but I have question marks about his defense. Well, maybe he'll be our version of Dani Alves.
Yeah, I wish
I guess we needed a LB though. Assier has dissapointed me a lot.
I hope Ever will come back as well. If he can bring up his A game, he may put us a level above.
As a team in crisis, I wouldn't consider selling Marchena a bad move. Even though I'm against having unexperienced CBs as starters, there may never be a better time than this, for us to make an experiment. Maybe one of our youngsters will leave up to the expectations.
Say, Dealbert?
I don't like our offensive lineup as it looks now. We have great offensive mid-fielders, but as I said we'll probably need a better CF. And the thing I agree with you the most, is that we shall definitely keep Mata. He is our future.
Yet, it looks like we'll be a step short of Sevilla, and Atl. Madrid, the following season as well. I miss 2002.

Do you know that FTV actually using their own music for the videos, originally made for FTV by the DJ and stuff.

Yeah, I know that they make their own music in certain videos, but I knew that that song was not one of them, because as I said I heard it in various places. No worries though, I already found the song I was searching for. Thanks a lot for trying to help anyway.
Wow, this is great topic. May somebody here recognize it?There are no soul. I can't get answer in other places.

Thanks in advance!
I actually don't know the second song, but it's in either spanish, or portuguese, so maybe someone may help on getting some of the lyrics in the song, and afterwards finding the song might get easier.
And btw, "Clubbed to death" is awesome.

Uh-oh. Appearentely, Sheed has agreed with Celtics (I was hoping he'll join Spurs), and Grant Hill is likely to join them as well. Celtics v Lakers, take two? Honestly I don't know which final series would be more interesting, but I just can't wait for the next season.
I'm also really glad, that Grant Hill has joined a better team. He is one of the smartest players, and the nicest guys to ever play the game. He is yet a second round virgin though. Hopefully it'll change after this season.

Michael Owen to Manure. WTF. Does he not care at all about the people in Liverpool?
I'm speechless. Talk about ruining a legacy right there. Didn't 'pool make any offer at all?
I think Owen was really short of options. There was some talk of Everton being interested, but nothing came of it. Sam Allardyce said he was well past his best (which he is) and that he wouldn't even think about signing him for Blackburn. I think the only definite offers he had were from Stoke and Hull, so when the call came from Fergie, you can't really blame Owen for jumping at the chance to join United.
Owen doesn't have the pace to create chances for himself any more, but if he's able to stay fit and gets decent service from his team mates he'll probably score at least double Tevez's 5 league goals from last season. Of course Owen and Tevez are two very different players, but at £25m cheaper and £50k a week less wages, it's a pretty good bit of business by anybody's standards.
I only hope Capello isn't tempted to stick him straight back in the England squad and ruin our chances for next summer.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. I just always had a feeling, that Liverpool was going to try to sign him. If 'pool didn't make any (serious) offer, I definitely understand him picking ManU. Why go to a Stoke, or Hull and risk going to Championship, when you have far better options. In current situation, Only Milan, and Manyoo are the teams, that have the tradition of winning, and have an empty spot for Owen. And ManU has the edge, because Milan will probably get Dzeko, and simply because Owen probably wants to stay in England. I don't agree that Owen is washed up, he is just not the CF of the weaker teams. He needs his team, to be able to push the game in the opponents half, so he can use his quickness to get away from opponents, and make the final touches. Granted injuries, have taken his game a step down, but I believe he'll be a good addition for ManU.
Yet, and still even though it has been a long time, since he left Anfield, I have always considered him as Liverpools own. I'm sad that he'l be playing for Manure.

Supposedly Ron Artest is gonna be a Laker now, and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
Personally, I don't like the guy, but I always told myself "It's not about the player, it's about the uniform". Add to the fact that Phil Jackson will most likely stick around, and has been to handle both egomaniac and eccentric players, it's looks good on PAPER!!! First, I was wondering if I should be scared of the Cavs. So, should I be happy Artest is gonna be a LAKER?!
Artest to Lakers, Ariza to Houston. I don't know, I kinda felt like they might have been better off keeping Ariza. They at least know that works. With Ron, there's a bit more intangibles at play.I know that RonRon is a bit of a nutcase, but he is definitely not as bad as he was, and playing along with his childhood friend Lamar Odom, and Kobe (even though they had a little conflict in this year, they too have known each other before NBA), he will accept his role, and become a team player. While Ariza was a great defender, Artest is a serious upgrade. Now they have the ultimate LeBron Stopper in the likely finals series. This can definitely be the greatest NBA finals ever.
On the other hand, I wish all the best to Ariza in his future career. With his skills, and will to improve his game, I hope he becomes an AllStar in this league.
The Lakers were originally a Minnesotan franchise, the Minneapolis Lakers. The Lakers refers to the lakes that state is known for. Once they moved to LA, that name made little sense.Of course, the most stupid NBA name was created when the New Orleans Jazz moved to SLC.
Yeah, and the best fit ever was San Diego Rockets moving to Huston.
And apparently the Raptors might get Turkoglu. What's going on these days...
Yeah, and they offered him $60,000,000. Previously Portland had offered him $53 mil. I know Orlando holds his bird rights, and they were willing to go over the salary cap, just to keep him, but I didn't expect such a big offer. As of now, it looks like the only other team that might make a move for him is Portland.

Apparently Eto'o did some things in the dressing room last year that Pep didn't approve of but kept a lid on.
It's crystal clear that Laporta is the one that doesn't want Eto'o, not Pep (and I'm not buying that locker room thing about Eto'o). Laporta went on the record saying that he wants to keep Eto'o on the team, but that the best he can offer is a 2year contract (which is short), under the same conditions he was playing last year (which shall be more, jugding by the season Etoo had). He said that the this deal is very reasonable, and that Eto'o shall be happy with it. He also added that people shall know that just like Eto'o has added a lot to Barcelona, Barça has added a lot to Eto'o as well.
Not that anything he said is actually wrong, or unreasonable, but why should a team president talk about a players future in the media, a player who happens to still be their player, and is coming of a great season. Furthermore, maybe some of you might not know, or have forgotten, but Laporta himself was the one who wanted to offer Ronaldinho a 15 year deal in 2006. In contrast in 06 he was trying to use Eto'o, in a trade to get Henry, and tried to get rid of him, in every upcoming summer as well.
I really don't like to be mean, because I like Barcelona as a team, and have lots of friends who root for them, and SS is one of the best posters in here, but I'm just not able to come up with an explanation that will justify their politics about Eto'o. Maybe it's me being an Eto'o troll (he is my CF, in my PlayStation team), but I don't know what else the guy was supposed to do, to prove himself as worthy.
Benzema on the verge of a £30m deal to go to Madrid and Ribery has come out and said he wants to leave for Madrid. I know they want to compete and sign awesome players, but this is just getting downright ridiculous :shock:It looks that just like they did earlier this decade, this team will collapse once again, because the stress is improperly propagated. Maybe Benzema will be useful to them, but they shall immediately start selling some players, and realize, that offense is only one aspect of the game.
BTW, I don't know how Real was able to pull it off, but when I read that Benzema joined Real, I was like "Why didn't he go to United", and trust me, with the way I hate Manyoo, thinking that says much. They rapidly became the most annoying, and hateable team, in the world.
Michael Owen to Manure. WTF. Does he not care at all about the people in Liverpool?I'm speechless. Talk about ruining a legacy right there. Didn't 'pool make any offer at all?

Same here - I saw the final and a few highlights. But the main memory I'll take from the tournament is of a fan caught on camera with a sign saying "Spain - S = PAIN!"
Are you sure it wasn't the kid that confused ice cream with warpaint?
Yeah, let's take a look at that once again.
Though I liked "Spain-S=Pain". It reminded me of an old commercial, where 6 norwegian dudes would go to a Norway game, and all of the are topless, and have one of the letters N-O-R-W-A-Y respectively sprayed on their body. Then the guy that represents letter "R" goes to pee, and loses his way, and the other five keep on watching the game till the end. I don't remeber what product the commercial was about, but it was funny because everytime something was happening, they'd jump, which would look like their reaction is "NO WAY".
@ eNe: reports in Spanish media suggest they are very close to signing Villa, they will almost certainly lose Samuelito to Man City
and they're going to try and sign Palmeiras' striker Keirrison as a back-up forward.
Sorry dude, but even though there is no way I can actually hate Barca with Henry on the squad, I'm really annoyed by how unthankful they were to Eto'o throughout his years in Camp Nou.
I have always considered him the perfect fit to their system, and their best/ most productive player, but he has always been in shadow of Ronaldinho, and Messi. He was the man in both Champions League finals, scoring the most important goals. I think Barça definitely should have kept him.
Well, at least let's hope that he'll have a nice season with City join Arsenal.
Though if they lose him Villa is definitely the best replacement possible. I'm a little sad that he'll leave Mestalla
, but since he was going to leave anyway, I'd much rather see him play for Barcelona, than Real, or Chelsea (who I thought were the frontrunners for Villa).

I was really bummed out OKC didn't select him. Would have been fun to see Green, Durant, Westbrook and him together. Although I can understand why they went for Harden, seeing as Westbrook is suppose to be their PG of the future.
There are some rumors Boston might make a move for Rubio as well (a deal involving Rondo).
Can you imagine him ending up on a team like the Blazers? How awesome would that be? A backcourt of Roy and Rubio!
Yeah, OKC should have definitely went with him IMO.
Though I don't know much about Harden. A pass first PG would have been great, and Westbrook's style is more like a SG IMO. But yeah, him ending up in Boston, or especially in Blazers would be awesome for him. They might be the team to beat, if Oden comes back 100%, and Roy improves his game a little (he has tremendous leadership skills / killer instinct). And Rudy Fernandez is the new Manu Ginobili. IMO they already are the second best team in the West.
BTW Herve, who are your favorite teams/players. It really didn't get mentioned while I was around.
Looks like trouble for Yao guysbtw watch this video
Someone mixed Iverson's missing practice comments with some Jim Mora and then some TO at the end and made a song out of it. Joe Namath has the funniest part though wanting to kiss Suzy whatsherface from espn
"how da hell can i make my teamates betta by practicin'"
Haha, thats classic.
Have you seen this:
Last season when he was traded for Detroit. Though appearentely Michael Curry, and Rip Hamilton don't talk to each other. I knew something was going on there. But as usual people put all the blame on Iverson. :anger: They simply quit last year. From Rip to Sheed, everyone was to blame. I hope Iverson has an amazing season in 2010.
And I feel really sad for Yao.
He is awesome. Hopefully he'll get back right in time for the playoffs, or Huston will make good moves, to built a better team, and get some quality free agents in 2010. Can't get over of how awesome of a duo T-Mac, and Yao could have been. But this decade, Huston was cursed with injuries.

Did anyone actually watch the whole Confederations Cup? I was (and am) really psyched that the upcomming World Cup will be in Africa, but the noise they were making was really nerve damaging. I don't mind african music, might say even I like it, but as I said, it wasn't music, it was just noise.
Even players were complaining about it. Anyone else annoyed from it?
I watched some matches, but mostly highlights. And even then I had to switch the sound off because of the noise. It was just so annoying :|
Yeah, me too. Luckily for me, our broadcasters were thoughtful enough to mute the original sound, and make the comments over it.
The last 2 games were great though. At least they were fruity in terms of scoring. Especially in the 3rd place game there were some awesome goals.
I bet a friend on what number will Kaka' wear (he picked #5, I went with #8).YOU WIN! Kaka picked 8
I thought he was going to take Torres' number. Wonder where Gago is going though
Yay, I won.
I don't know much about Gago, but he might stay, even though now they have Alonso, Guti, and Diarra-x2 there. If not, he'll probably end up in either Sevilla, or Atl. Madrid. (not that I actually heard anything)
That'd be their best formation possible (though I'd switch Ribery, and Ronaldo), but I bet they'll use 2 forwards in the frontline, instead of having a more powerful mid-field with Diarra-x2. And when they'll do so, more asskickery will be inevitable.Ronaldo can become the second striker in that formation if they use it. Ronaldo was never any good at leading the line, but he was awesome at coming from deep and that 4-5-1 formation allows him to do that...I've probably given this too much thought
Don't know why they need Xabi when all the Diarra Bros. need to do is make a short pass to Kaka
I have little to no doubt, that they'll use Ronaldo like that, but still they have to deal with their legend Raul, La Ligas top scorer from two seasons earlier Nistelrooy, and their best player from the previous season Higuain. Plus they want to add Villa. They'll either have to sell some of them, or else, they'll use the 2 forward system + Ronaldo, in order to keep their egos in check.
Though no matter what, I'm pretty sure that at the beginning of the season, they'll try to play really offensive football, and try to steal from Barças thunder. After a couple of dissapointing losses, they might get back to 4-5-1.
By the way, not sure if it got mentioned earlier in this thread, but Barça was targetting Forlan, if they can't get Ibrahimoviç. Any news from Barça?
I really don't watch much TV lately, and all the papers do are write about the Ronaldo transfer, and reactions to it.
The main memory I'll take from the tournament is of a fan caught on camera with a sign saying "Spain - S = PAIN!"Excellent

I didn't follow much news lately. Who else has Real signed? :|

Looks like Ronaldo is going to wear #10. I can't wait to hear/read about him, and Fergie taking some cheap shots at each other.

I agree that Barça really needs a CB as well (just not considering that as a blackhole
), maybe even someone who can start alongside with Pique. I heard Mexes rumors, but not sure about it. If they keep Eto'o, I doubt they'll sign any other forward, not a top class one at least. But Silva might be a perfect fit.
Real keeps on annoying me. Now they signed Albiol, and rumor has it that Zidane has spoken to Ribery, and they may land him as well. And now they want Arbeloa as well. Plus it's not like they're going to stop afterwards neither. Fucking rich people. <_<
Tevez stays in Manchester, but as a City player. BTW, City is way too quite compared to what I was expecting.
And looks like Manyoo is going to get Benzema. I hate it when players I like go to the teams I hate.
-
Oh, and one last thing for those who might be interested, it looks like Rubio will stay in Europe the following season as well. He has to pay like $3,5 mil. from his pocket if he wants to play in NBA. I know Joventut will not cause much trouble if he wants to leave, but I doubt he is willing to pay that, to play in Minny. But Knicks might try to make a move. We'll see.
-
Ok, forget everything mentioned before. We aren't even in July yet, and already it looks like this is the best offseason ever.
First Wizards got Randy Foye, and Mike Miller, for their 5th pick, Ethan Thomas, and Darius Songalia, and IMO now that they have Haywood & Arenas back, they are contenders. They gained two solid players w/out losing much.
Then Spurs got Richard Jefferson in a 3way deal, where Bowen went to Milwakuee, and Oberto to Pistons.
Shaq went to Cavs, for Sasha Pavlovic, and Big Ben (who may retire
).
And now Orlando Magic recieved Vince Carter, for Rafel Alston, Courtney Lee, and Tony Battie.
Hedo has opted out, but that was going to happen anyway. If i'm not mistaken, they hold his bird rights, which means even if he signs with another team, the Magic will be able to keep him.
IMO Nets made a good move as well. Courtney Lee is awesome.
I was laughing when people were claiming so last season, but now it looks like the East is definitely back.
Stay tuned for: Amare Stoudemire to Golden State, Kirk Hinrich to Portland, and Ben Gordon to Detroit.
Football
in Sports
Oh my, Eto'o is gone?
I don't know why, but I didn't want him to go to Italy. Hopefully he'll have a great year there.
As for Barça, well I've got good news for you guys (bad news for Real fans). Ibrahimoviç = Domestic Title
Since he joined Ajax in 2001, he won the domestic title in 02, 04, with Juve in 05, 06, and with Inter in 07, 08, and 09.
And in 03, he missed a fair amount of games, because of injury.
I'm telling you guys: REAL IS DOOMED.
On Eto'o side, it's a little sad to be used in a trade, but I'm sure he'll adapt his game, and be great in Inter as well. It's a little poetic justice, that now him, and Ronaldinho are the main players of the city rivals.
Milan-Inter games will be fun to watch.
The one that I'm most happy about in this whole thing (the only one that I'm happy for, actually) is Alexander Hleb. He is a pure winger, and was not fitting much in Barcelonas system. Under Mourinho, he'll get much ore playtime, and prove his qualities.
