Here are the last two times I recall seeing Jo and Jas together, but definitely not as much as before when they would workout together to promote their brand.

Oh, I hadn't seen that photo of them in Paris. I thought they'd kept their distance from each other during that event. But yeah, in any case, they seem to have grown apart a bit. I liked their videos together; it's a shame they stopped their channel.

Perhaps the business ending also gives some financial context on why Josephine and Bohnes left their dream home?

The Joja project certainly wasn't a huge success, but I don't think they lost money, or at least not enough to make her have to sell the house and move. I don't think that was the reason.

But I still find it quite odd that they moved after all the effort and Josephine's apparent excitement about how the house renovation was turning out, didn't look like a temporary home, just for a little over a year or two.

Pretty sure JoJa has been over since last year. Jas already removed it from her IG bio, Jo hasn't but that probably means nothing. Not to mention, they haven't interacted much in the past few months, so it's likely their friendship is -at best- on the rocks. Sad, because they seemed like great friends and business partners, but their last JoJa campaigns were kinda meh & they were kinda doing their own thing instead of posing together and whatnot.

I noticed this and also suspect their friendship may be on the rocks. In the latest post on Joja's account, there are a few comments asking if the brand is finished and others asking for a restock, but no response from the official account or from Josephine or Jasmine. On social media, they haven't been seen interacting (no likes or comments) with each other for some months, although they still follow each other.

But what makes me most suspicious is that they were not seen together despite being in Paris for fashion week, even coinciding at the same event, such as "Le Grand Dîner du Louvre" or one on a more personal level, at Taylor Hill's birthday party in Paris, but even so there isn't a single pic or video in which they are seen together, which is quite strange if we consider that they are (or were) very close friends. I hope they remain friends, but it certainly wouldn't be the first friendship to break down due to the friction of starting a company and working together.

    Update:

Alessandra is shooting the new El Corte Ingles advertisement in Lanzarote (Canary Islands) shot by Txema Yeste, directed by Alvaro Colom, makeup by Georgi Sandev, hair by Vasco Freitas, and styling by Belen Antolin.

    Candice is there as well.

  5. I find it strange that they sold the house so soon after finishing all the work they were doing to make it their own. Josephine frequently shared the progress of the work, the materials she wanted, the decorative objects for all the rooms, she seemed truly excited about it, it seemed like it was the house they were going to live in for years, to raise their children in. And actually it looked nice and cozy. I don't know, I find it strange, maybe they received one of those offers that is so good you can't refuse, I can't think of any other reason without knowing their personal lives.

I have to assume they still live in LA or at least she would be interested considering the company (JOJA) she has created with Jasmine, who we know for sure lives in LA, so that would make all much easier.

Yes but his notes are preety vague, he says it is from the first time in Rio De Janeiro but I don't know when was that.

If all the photos are from the same period, then they are from the Rio Carnival 2020, late February. The first outfit is the one Alessandra wore at that time.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but Adriana was by all standards a curvy model back when she started in the late 90s-00s. Gisele literally built her entire career on being "the Brazilian bombshell" with the curves, defying the standard of the "heroine chic" that had taken the fashion industry by storm with Kate Moss, and once Gisele opened the doors then the Brazilian bombshell trend started from which Adriana, Alessandra, Ana Beatriz, Isabeli and many others profited from and were able to build a high fashion career while also being commercially successful. Before that you were either a high fashion model or you were a commercial model.

Is she what would be considered curvy now? Absolutely not, but back in the day she most definitely was considered curvacious/bigger than the average model, the "I'm not a typical size 0 model, I have boobs and a butt!" was a massive selling point for Adriana's career and commercial success but it also put a dent on her high fashion career. It's insane that that was the standard, but let's not rewrite history, that's exactly how it was, if you watch the old VSFS they even discuss how their models are "diverse" and "curvy"

Maybe you're right, but I don't know how Adriana's body, especially in her early years when she was very thin, could be considered more voluptuous  and curvy than those of Laetitia, Tyra, Heidi or Eva Herzigova just to name a few of some of the most iconic models of that era.

    @borg

This was her story, she deleted it in minues tho. The discussion was about Racism in fashion then.

There is also an interview that Adriana implied she faced racism during her career. In 2016/2018 while instagram let us to see what posts others like, i noticed Adriana frequently liked posts that complains about racism in fahion industry.

If we are now to believe that Adriana was also a curvy model at some point in her career... I love Adriana, she's my favorite model ever, but that doesn't mean I have to buy everything she says as if she were a divine being. She has had, like almost all models because that's how the industry works, quite a few moments of being a bit hypocritical.

If you want to use Gisele, Karolina, Doutzen, and Karen having a lot Vogue US covers to persuade me, I don't think it is a powerful stand.

Listing Gisele's Vogue covers, you would find that she gradually lost her popularity in Vogue during her VS years. Obviously many fashion heads were happy for Gisele’s decision leaving VS in 2007. Even Anna gave her a Vogue cover in 2008 to reward her.

Anna used to call Karolina 'the possible next supper model' and gave her an important cover. But since KK went to VS, Anna no longer mentioned her in public and no more Vogue US covers. Same as Doutzen. I don't know too much about Karen. But I believe there are some things similar to it.

Just admit it, the Vogue US and Anna dislike VS and their models.

And not even only Vogue US and Anna, other major editions like the UK, Italian and French ones don't like them either. They don't like VS (or SI) models, they have always preferred the more "elegant" image of the haute couture catwalk models to those of VS and I'm not even defending this at all, but it's obvious that this has always been Vogue's preferences, even though each edition has its own editor, they are obviously influenced by the image that the Vogue concept is supposed to sell. You only have to look at the list of models who have appeared on their covers, despite being much less popular than VS icons like Adriana, Alessandra or Candice.

And Adriana and Alessandra left VS years ago. Especially Alessandra, she didn't return until this year. Still nothing. We are talking about Vogue US, not vogue in general. because Ana isn't the director of all the Vogues. I didn't say every Vogue was prejudice and racial. I said the head of Vogue US specifically is, and even with all of Irina's vogue covers, she still has very little Vogue US work. We are talking about Vogue US and Ana

Adriana is mixed and MOST DEF been stamped as "exotic" as a model. Now you're re-writing history. You may personally view Adriana as white. She never viewed herself as white. She never called herself white. When people mention her race/ethnicity, they don't call her white because Adriana never called herself that. And she isn't, she's def mixed, how she looks to YOU is different. But lets not pretend like Adriana was not called exotic by the fashion industry itself for years. Lets not pretend like when she was younger, Adriana wasn't being asked her ethnicity and asked what was she mixed with by people in this very industry. She was asked, multiple times even backstage at high fashion shows. Why would they ask her that if they viewed her as a white woman?  They don't ask people who aren't racially ambiguous looking, that. A white latina is Gisele, that is a white latina. Adriana doesn't look a thing like her first of all. They obviously have very different looks. And most importantly, I don't recall Gisele being asked what she was mixed with like Adriana was or her ethnicity being a focal point, like it was for Adriana. There is a reason for that. And yes we do see those real white latinas more everywhere . Adriana does not look like that, and she especially didn't when she was younger and there was a reason why her ethnicity was a focal point in her career. All the other white latina models, their ethnicity was never a highlight in their career. But it is for Adriana and other nonwhite/mixed models. We can't pretend like the fashion industry wasn't deeming Adriana "exotic" left and right, they clearly did.  Especially when she was younger. Rihanna is Rihanna, she is not a model but an entertainer and superstar you can't ignore because of her impact as a singer and business woman. She's a superstar. That goes for ANY none model, including penelope, idk why you used them as examples when they aren't models. Joan is Like Naomi. They are called tokens. They have to choose just enough nonwhite/black models so they don't get called out but its never that many. Lets not act like we don't know what that is.  And as I said, for Vogue US specifically, I am not seeing MODELS like Adriana on those covers often. Not even Irina. Adriana literally liked a post that pointed out Ana being a freaking racist at Vogue a few years ago. I am sure she knows more than you and had a reason for doing that

Of all the things I thought could be controversial, I never imagined that calling this woman white would be one of them. I'm not even going to argue with that, I'm too sick of all these discussions about ethnicities and perceptions of each.

    809746650_1151251337amfARCannesGala2019-Arrivals.jpg.bbe8b2258641f37d31e6f4bc51ba8359.thumb.jpg.680c080d64b73a4d87006de122ce807d.jpg

Adriana was always called exotic in a good way, her beauty has always been accepted and celebrated worldwide since practically the first day of her career. Talking about Adriana as a victim of racism is disrespectful to models who have actually suffered racism, not because they haven't been given a Vogue US cover. If you don't see models like Adriana on Vogue US covers, it's because not every model gets that cover and there certainly aren't many women who look like Adriana because she is an extraordinary beauty.

  11. 30 minutes ago, Souled-Out said:

Irina never had a VS career and tbh she's been doing very well and she has had even less Vogue US work than Adriana. They resemble each other by the way.

Plus, everyone knows Ana is indeed prejudice/racist. She's been accused of it several times. I wouldn't dismiss it that is. That woman has a racial bias

Gisele, Doutzen, Karen Mulder, and Karolina all VS angels, all blonde and blue eyed, all have a Vogue US covers. At one point Karolina was a huge deal for VS too. Still got the cover. And its even more annoying because Adriana's career and popularity has lasted longer.

As I said, I never seen a model that looked like Adriana specifically on that cover. Not even Irina.

We all agreed that Vogue US also seem to be a cover for celebs and promoting things outside of modeling

Yes, Irina hasn't had a Vogue US cover, but despite being 5 years younger than them, she has more Vogue covers than Adriana and Alessandra combined. And she's even a good example, Irina didn't start having real success in Vogue until she left Sports Illustrated. Vogue people don't like SI, they don't like VS, they consider it cheap. There are some exceptions, but they are very, very rare and always more towards this high fashion type of model. I feel like Adriana (or Candice) has always been seen as too sexy for Vogue.

In any case, I don't think Adriana has been the victim of racist prejudice, at all. She is white, she has some exotic features, but she is white, latina. But in Vogue US you have had Rihanna, and there is no one more exotic than her. Or Joan Smalls, a latina supermodel. Or Penelope Cruz, who has several covers despite being a dark-eyed, brunette latina. Maybe many years ago there was a certain prejudice, but towards African or Asian models, Adriana's beauty has always been widely accepted. It was the beauty of models like Adwoa Aboah, Adut Akech or Liu Wen who had the hardest time until they were accepted because their beauty is not as conventional as Adriana's.

  12. When you look at the list of models with the most Vogue covers, including those of Vogue US, it's easy to understand why Adriana or Alessandra have never been on it. It is definitely not because of racism, nor has Candice ever appeared in Vogue US despite being a very conventional white, blonde, blue-eyed woman. Vogue, not only in the US edition, has never really liked models who made their careers linked to VS. I've always thought that this has limited Adriana's career quite a bit, as well as Alessandra's or Candice's, in terms of what they could have achieved (even more, I mean, they've had great careers). But hey, they were aware of it and the contract with VS definitely compensated them very well financially for it.

In the case of Vogue US, there is also the fact that it has never been just an exclusive cover for models, but for a host of celebrities such as singers, actresses and athletes.

This is not a hate, just a doubt. Did she do something in her face, like a Bichectomy? Or she is just lost 2 much weight?

BTW in this photo, I tought it was Irina Shayk lol

To me, it's clear that she's had something done to her face, aside from obviously losing a lot of weight. I think it's at the very least logical to wonder if she's had something done to her face because she looks like someone who has, indeed, had a bichectomy. This should not be understood as hate, nor controversial, nor should it offend anyone here.

Thread cleaned, again, this thread is for Candids, so keep it at that.

I don't mean this in a confrontational way, but isn't it allowed to comment on how she looks in her appearances? Respectfully, obviously.

  15. I don't know, her face looks a bit plastic to me. I think she looked better and like more natural in the pictures and videos in Paris. Now it's like she's undergone some kind of buccal fat removal procedure. She looks better than she did a year ago and the weight loss is very noticeable, but there is something about her face that makes her look very stretched and her cheeks sunken.

  16. Judging by her last story, posted 1 hour ago, she is in Paris and wanting to let people know it since she has barely used her social media in 2024. Maybe some work in her role as FIFA ambassador for the women's football final? Plus, Brazil (against the United States) is playing the final tomorrow at 5pm. The men's final is today at 6pm.

I was reading the previous pages about her husband and the things people know or have heard... I felt compelled to create an account just to express that you're all absolutely right, I know this for a fact. It baffles me how someone as seemingly kind-hearted (or at least that's the image she portrays) ended up marrying such an awful individual. It's disheartening to see.

What else can you tell us about it? Even if it's by private message, if you prefer.

  18. 1 minute ago, XSS said:

Personally I don't hope she keeps working for VS. Last year it's a good end for both, her and VS. She got enough from VS and it's time to move on.

I quite agree tbh. I think Adriana had a pretty nice send-off to VSFS (especially if you compare it to Alessandra, who may not have been as iconic as Adriana for VS, but it was very disappointing considering all the years she was in VS, wearing the FB twice and so on), a stage was closed, I don't see the need to open it again. There are more opportunities to see Adriana, other brands and more other than that of a lingerie model, which ended up limiting her career a little bit and pigeonholing her as if she couldn't do anything else

  19. Victoria's Secret is bringing back the fashion show, they announced on Instagram with a video starring Candice, for this fall. Maybe all the workout Adriana is doing is for her to come back? I'm sure the show will be more inclusive with women of different bodies and ages, not like before. So I genuinely believe that there is a chance for models over 40 or even 50 years old to see them again in VS, like in that campaign they did 2 years ago with Adriana, Gisele or Naomi.

In the video there are references to the wings of angels, so the concept of angel returns (good news) and it is to be hoped that models who have been angels will return, in addition to Candice, who is officially going to be in the show. Adriana would make sense because of what she represents for the brand as VS's most iconic angel, so we'll see. Another one who I would bet is going to be there is Taylor Hill, who has not stopped working with the brand even though the brand stopped doing the show, unlike other models of her generation like Romee or Josephine.
