HARPER'S BAZAAR SPAIN - 19 OCTOBER 2017
THE NEW 'FACE' OF ZARA – THIS TIME IS NOT AN UNKNOWN
Zara has a new addition in its ranks. You will be familiar with her face and name.
Things are changing on the flagship of Amancio Ortega. Or at least, a little bit. Until relatively recently, it was not frequent (not to say that it was unthinkable) to meet familiar faces starring Zara's seasonal publishers. However, in its latest autumn release we have been able to see one of the top models of the moment: Edie Campbell.
At 27, Edie Campbell is one of the established faces of international fashion. In addition to parading for most of the great fashion houses, such as Louis Vuitton or Valentino, this English is the image of Jil Sander or, among other things, protagonist of the campaign of the perfume Black Opium, Yves Saint Laurent.
Irreverent, careless, daring... the radiance that radiates Campbell seems to have acted as an arrow for Zara who has not hesitated to have her in their editorial Smooth Textures. In the images starring the English, Zara presents the latest creations for women, in garments that alternate the print of pictures with the stripes, and where the brightness pre parties are already present.
It is clear that something is changing in Zara and in its marketing strategies. The anonymous models seem to give way to mannequins consecrated and recognizable to the general public. Already insinuated in the month of August when Zara launched their campaign to claim the beauty of women past 40, when Zara counted in their photos with Malgosia Bela, Yasmin Warsame and Kristina de Coninck, all recognized fashion faces that, like Campbell, has posed and paraded with the best.

Jolie Alien
in Female Fashion Models
THE GLASS MAGAZINE - 9 AUGUST 2017
New Model Army – Glass meets Jolie Alien
Name: Jolie Alien
Agency: Premier Model Management
Age: 15
Nationality: Belgian/Russian
Photographer: Camilla Glorioso. Casting: Sara Hesikova
How did you become a model? And why?
In Russia I have a blog around street and skater style and a Russian agency found me through that. The world of fashion had always fascinated me so I was thrilled at the thought that I could be a part of it.
Have you always wanted to be a model?
I certainly didn’t go to any kind of “model school” but from the age of 12, I’d shoot for fun so it was always an interest.
Who are your heroes in life and in modelling?
I have to say for both it is my mum. She was a model and she has an amazing style, she is so supportive, always there for me, and her experience has been invaluable. Other models? Kate Moss. I would love to emulate her style and career. Generally though, creative people inspire me − artists, particularly painters.
What is your present state of mind?
I’m happy.
What is your idea of happiness?
Being busy, having fun, working a lot, having exhibitions to visit, travelling or simply watching foreign city life. And, of course, spending time with my lovely family.
How would you like to be perceived by others?
Truthful.
If you were not a model, what would you be?
I’d like to work in the art world, a gallerist or curator.
What do you miss most when you’re travelling?
My sweet home and family.
What is your favourite song or songs to walk to?
I like a really specific kind of crazy techno, like KPOBOCTOK, or maybe classical.
What would you say is the biggest myth or misperception about being a model?
That modeling is easy.
