Today’s results are in!

Group 16

Molly Sims (81.3%) defeated Barbro Ehn (18.7%)

Dominique Piek (94.1%) defeated Kay Hughes (5.9%)

Group 17

Jenny Brunt (73.3%) defeated Lorraine Pascale (26.7%)

Aurelie Claudel (100.0%) defeated Paula Warner (0.0%)

Group 18

Kristy Hinze (93.3%) defeated Gail O’Neill (6.7%)

Ana Paula Lemes (67.5%) defeated Brandi Quinones (32.5%)

My spin:

All of today’s results were completely expected, and the only really notable result was French cutie Aurelie Claudel earning the 14th clean sheet of the tournament.  Amazingly, each of the 14 clean sheets have had unique winners and losers.  Nobody has had two on the winning side or on the losing side.

Today’s results are in!

Group 19

Noemie Lenoir (91.7%) defeated Paulette Kieon (8.3%)

Yasmin Brunet (56.3%) defeated Malia Jones (43.7%)

Group 20

Natasha Barnard (93.8%) defeated Carol Latimer (6.2%)

Turia Mau (54.5%) defeated Charissa Craig (45.5%)

Group 21

Reka Ebergenyi (93.3%) defeated Sabrina Barnett (6.7%)

Chanel Iman (66.7%) defeated Kate James (33.3%)

My spin:

Noemie and Yasmin prevailed in Group 19, which sends them both into a three-way tie atop the group table with Ashley Richardson.  Ashley and Noemie have one fewer game, so they hold the advantage, but Yasmin could certainly still win the group with some luck.

In Group 20, it’s a clear two-horse race.  Natasha Barnard easily won again to pull just ahead of the idle Rachel Hunter in the group table.  Other than those two, the competition in the group is just to see which of the plain old school models can actually win a match.  So far, Turia Mau and Carol Latimer have, but Charissa Craig has not.

Finally, there’s the weirdest group of them all: Group 21.  The group has had at least one draw in each of the round robin cycles so far, but this time we actually saw two matches play out to clear winners.  Chanel Iman stayed ahead of Reka Ebergenyi in the table, but both are fighting an uphill battle trying to chase down Nina Agdal.  The wild card is a more realistic goal for Chanel and/or Reka at this point.

Today’s results are in!

Group 22

Kenza Fourati (54.5%) defeated Michelle Alves (45.5%)

Aline Nakashima (75.0%) defeated Sarah Nursey (25.0%)

Group 23

Dayle Haddon (88.2%) defeated Hina Tama (11.8%)

Monika Schnarre (76.5%) defeated Ann Peterson (23.5%)

Group 24

Tori Praver (73.9%) defeated Andrea Orme (26.1%)

Emily Ratajkowski (53.1%) defeated Hannah Ferguson (46.9%)

My spin:

The Group of Death (Group 24) kept rolling, and the marquis matchup was EmRata versus HannahFerg.  Emily prevailed in an extremely close match, and she takes sole possession of first place in the group so far.  Emily hasn’t dominated any of her (tough) opponents, but if she wins her next match over Tyra Banks, she’ll clinch first place.

In Group 22, Aline Nakashima continued her flawless tournament with an easy victory over Sarah Nursey.  Aline now sits atop the table in her group, but Elsa Benitez is still lurking in the future.

Finally, Group 23 saw an upset as Monika Schnarre knocked off Ann Peterson, which will likely cost Ann any shot at first place in the group.  #23 Stacey Williams now sits in the driver’s seat of her group for the rest of the Group Stage.

Today’s results are in!

Group 25

Karen Mulder (88.9%) defeated Irina Pantaeva (11.1%)

Kara Young (55.6%) defeated Julie Henderson (44.4%)

Group 26

Renee Simonsen (61.9%) defeated Annie Morton (38.1%)

Michelle Vawer (68.0%) defeated Jessica Van Der Steen (32.0%)

Group 27

Carolyn Murphy (95.0%) defeated Akure Wall (5.0%)

Louise Forsling (63.6%) defeated Ariel Meredith (36.4%)

My spin:

Group 25 just turned into a wide open race, as Julie Henderson fell to Kara Young.  Julie looked like she’d be the favorite after her huge win over #25 seed Chrissy Teigen, but this loss puts that in question.  Karen Mulder now sits atop the table, but she still has work to do to stay there, as she has yet to face Julie or Chrissy.

Renee Simonsen and Michelle Vawer won in Group 26 to create a three-way tie atop the table.  Those two are tied with Judit Masco, who had a bye this cycle.  It’s anyone’s title to win, since those three still have matches amongst each other.

In Group 27, we have another three-way tie for first place, as Louise Forsling and Carolyn Murphy vaulted into a first place tie with Carol Alt.  Carol and Carolyn are undefeated, while Louise has a loss, though.  Speaking of this group, Ariel Meredith is proving to be one of the biggest disappointments of this year’s tournament.  She was within spitting distance of a top 50 ranking entering the tournament, but she has faltered.  She lost her first match to Carol Alt, which is very much understandable, but this loss to Louise is crushing for Ariel.  She has two matches left to try to turn it around.

Group 28

Hilary Rhoda (95.5%) defeated Jane Gill (4.5%)

Monica Bellucci (73.9%) defeated Libby Otis (26.1%)

Group 29

Lana Ogilvie (92.9%) defeated Elvira Ulla (7.1%)

Isabeli Fontana (90.9%) defeated Jean Pelton (9.1%)

Group 30

Coco Mitchell (64.7%) defeated Tannia Rubiano (35.3%)

Estelle Lefebure (70.6%) defeated Babette March (29.4%)

My spin:

It was a day full of lopsided matches.  Group 30 becomes only the 2nd group to have each of its members have at least one victory to this point, as Coco Mitchell got herself a victory.  In Group 29, Isabeli Fontana wiped out previously unbeaten Jean Pelton.  Jean is still in first place, but that is likely to change after the next round robin cycle.

Group 31

Amber Smith (75.0%) defeated Kathryn Redding (25.0%)

Alyssa Miller (92.3%) defeated Kadra Ahmed Omar (7.7%)

Group 32

Mary Sturdevant (73.7%) defeated Sheila Roscoe (26.3%)

Vanessa Lorenzo (89.5%) defeated Sue Peterson (10.5%)

Group 33

Angie Everhart (82.6%) defeated Pania Rose (17.4%)

Caprice Bourret (77.3%) defeated Adaora Akubilo (22.7%)

My spin:

The big story today is Vanessa Lorenzo, who improved to 3-0 on the tournament in Group 32.  Her opposition has been generally weak, but so has the opposition of the assumed favorite, Jessica White.  Jessica stumbled last round robin cycle, only managing a draw against Sue Peterson.  Yet, this cycle, Vanessa crushed Sue.  Vanessa still has work to do, though, as she’ll still need to knock off Jessica head-to-head to be assured of first place.

In Group 33, Angie Everhart continued to dominate her opponents, as Pania Rose found out.  In the other match, Adaora will still be seeking her first win after losing to Caprice.

Finally, in Group 31, Amber Smith and Alyssa Miller emerged as co-leaders, and both are trying to distance themselves from the dangerous Chandra North.

Today’s results are in!

Group 34

Fernanda Motta (88.2%) defeated Rosie de la Cruz (11.8%)

Eva Herzigova (52.4%) defeated Ays Thorgren (47.6%)

Group 35

Kate Bock (96.0%) defeated Georgianna Robertson (4.0%)

Shannan Click (66.7%) defeated Talisa Soto (33.3%)

Group 36

Mallory Snyder (75.0%) defeated Kirby Griffin (25.0%)

Estella Warren (71.4%) defeated Monique Moura de Carvalho (28.6%)

My spin:

In Group 34, Fernanda Motta and Eva Herzigova both improved to 2-0, but they did it in different ways.  Fernanda dominated, while Eva nearly lost to Aya Thorgren.  Aya is 0-3 now, but she really deserves better, as she’s had two very close losses.

In Group 35, Kate Bock and Shannan Click also improved to 2-0.  They are tied for first place, but they’ll still face a challenge from Esti Ginzburg, as well.  Stay tuned!

Finally, Group 36 is starting to sort itself out, as well.  Group favorite Genevieve Morton was on bye, and Mallory Snyder joined her at 2-0 with her easy victory.  Estella Warren kept her hopes of advancement alive, too, with her win over Monique Moura de Carvalho.

Today’s results are in!

Group 37

Marilyn Tindall (52.9%) defeated Ann Simonton (47.1%)

Ana Beatriz Barros (81.0%) defeated Margaux Hemingway (19.0%)

Group 38

Hannah Davis (82.6%) defeated Navia Nguyen (17.4%)

Kim Lemanton (68.4%) defeated Maria Joao (31.6%)

Group 39

Frankie Rayder (61.9%) defeated Tamara Spoelder (38.1%)

Melissa Baker (85.0%) defeated Samantha Jones (15.0%)

My spin:

In Group 37, Marilyn Tindall has now won herself two matches in a row after being on the losing end of a clean sheet in her first match.  Good comeback for her!  Ana Beatriz had no trouble with Margaux Hemingway, either, to get her first win of the tournament.

Group 38’s favorites won, as Hannah and Kim had easy wins this round.  Both join a three-way tie for first place along with Janelle Fishman, who was idle.  Hannah and Janelle have one fewer match played, though, so they are looking like the real favorites.

In Group 39, there were two more easy victories.  Melissa Baker may not be able to leap frog both Frankie Rayder and Ingrid Seynhaeve for first place, but she does have a legitimate shot at advancing as a wild card.  Time will tell.

Today’s results are in!

Group 40

Cindy Crawford (86.4%) defeated Crystal Renn (13.6%)

Oluchi Onweagba (61.1%) defeated Cynthia Korman (38.9%)

Group 41

Manon Von Gerkan (55.0%) defeated Raica Oliveira (45.0%)

Emily DiDonato (73.9%) defeated Yvonne Sylvander (26.1%)

Group 42

Julie Ordon (60.0%) defeated Sarah O’Hare (40.0%)

Shakara Ledard (61.1%) defeated Barbara Carrera (38.9%)

My spin:

Crystal Renn had been the surprise leader of Group 40, but supermodel Cindy Crawford put Crystal back in her place as she trounced her this match.  Cindy is now the unquestioned favorite for Group 40.

In Group 42, Julie Ordon continued her winning streak and stands atop the group table.  None of her wins have been by a huge margin, but she’s winning, and that’s all that counts.

In Group 41, Emily DiDonato jumped into a first place tie with sexy Canadian Kim Cloutier.  It’ll be a real battle for first place between those two the rest of the way.  Manon Von Gerkan kept her hopes alive with a win, as well.
