D la Repubblica. October 11, 2014.

"D la Repubblica delle donne" is a supplement published every Saturday with La Repubblica newspaper (in Italy).

post-86567-0-45785900-1413154881_thumb.j

I couldn't get the cover in bigger size. I hope I can get it and the full article/photo shoot which seems to be quite interesting (based on the cover). Maybe it'll be available soon... :idk: Anyway, if somebody find and post it here (at least the link), I'll be very grateful. Flower%20for%20you.gif

Finally, I could read the interview and it wasn't as interesting as I had imagined. Nothing new except the confirmation that she'll be at the premiere of "Soap Opera". At least, she said "I can't wait to watch it together with the public at the premier" (I guess she was talking about the premiere at Rome Film Festival on October, 16).

Video interview.

Elisa talking about her role (from 1:37).

http://www.comingsoon.it/film/soap-opera/50015/video/?vid=16703

I was reading the very first movie reviews and I must say they are not brilliant...Several of them praised the technical/visual details of the film (mainly the scenography and lighting and the general atmosphere of the movie) but regarding to the story, the reviews tend to be less benevolent. I mean, the film didn't get harsh reviews but it's quite obvious it was considered a mediocre work (in fact, according to some critics, a movie like "Soap Opera" shouldn't have opened the festival). No especial comments about Elisa's acting.

Apart from that and according to her comments, I infer she'll be working for some Christmas campaign or editorial. At least, this was the comment she uploaded together with this gorgeous selfie today.

"In a #Mexican #Christmas kind of vibe".

By the way, I read the article written by somebody who was at the event (a Mexican beauty blogger who signs as Marie Claire Aguirre). She heard her whole speech (and she posted the pictures I uploaded here). Apart from describing Elisa as "humble, smiley and nice" she revealed more about the interview. According to her, Elisa has several goals in fashion and movie industry but she wants to focus on her personal life right now. In fact, she wants to be a mother again although she's open to the offers she could receive. Not surprising, considering she talked about motherhood and her desire to have more children in D la Repubblica a few weeks ago.

Video.

On the other hand and according to today's news, "Soap Opera" (that was released last Thursday in Italy), is at the 4th place at the box office in that country (€ 1.006.246 and 149.837 viewers). This is another clip from the movie.

The interview.

"La mujer de negro" ("The woman in black") by Javier Quesada.

http://lofficielmexico.com/web/la-mujer-de-negro/

I'll leave you the link to the interview made by L'Officiel. As you can imagine, it's in Spanish. If somebody is interested in reading it, just let me know it and I'll do my best to make the translation (Spanish is not my mother tongue. So, if nobody wants to read it, all the work will be useless).

Anyway, I'd like to share some info. According to the interview, she'll be on L'Officiel France very soon and it's gonna be a large editorial (in fact, she said that L'Officiel is going to dedicate the whole issue to her... :idk: It sounds weird, maybe I didn't understand properly).

Elisa Sednaoui and Christian Louboutin Team up on a Global Initiative to Support the Arts

October 28, by Edward Barsamian.

“As a little girl I didn’t dream of becoming an actress or model,” says Elisa Sednaoui, “I wanted to be a diplomat, a cultural attaché of some sort.” And she’s well on her way: Last year, the model, actress, and mother established an eponymous foundation whose lofty goals include creating a series of what she dubs “sustainable cultural centers,” starting in Luxor, Egypt. Furthering her efforts, Sednaoui enlisted Christian Louboutin and the website MyGoodness.com—which acts as a type of Kickstarter for the nonprofit sector—to auction off a luxury weekend in Paris with her and the beloved shoe designer to benefit the charity. (The auction closes on Monday, November 10.)

The foundation’s inspiration came from Sednaoui’s travels to Luxor as a documentarian at work on a yet undisclosed project, where she discovered firsthand that many of her subjects felt emotionally stunted due to a lack of exposure to the arts.Bill Clinton says it well, ‘Talent is equally distributed in the world. It is the opportunities that are not,’” says Sednaoui, who married her long-term partner Alexander Dellal in May. “I am extremely lucky and grateful that I have been given gifts which allow me to be in a privileged position today. So I need to do everything in my power to try and help in any form I can". (The foundation’s initial focuses—Luxor, with a stated desire to expand to Italy—reflects Sednaoui’s own upbringing: she was raised between Egypt, Italy, and France.) The first workshop took place in April 2014 in coordination with MIMA Music, an international NGO, and Makan, the Egyptian Center for Culture and Art, and brought together 150 students with musicians and teachers from the U.S., Argentina, and Cairo.

Sednaoui’s plans for the future of the foundation include daily after-school classes at the Luxor center, run by locals and focusing purely on creative endeavors. “Painting, photography, acting, and music", Sednaoui lists, “This type of work is relevant in both the so-called ‘developed countries’ and the ‘developing countries,’ because for different reasons many children, whether they are in “disadvantaged” situations or not, are in need of being exposed to the arts and having access to a space where they express their feelings, and dream big". Children in traditionally developed nations are in just as much need of artistic allies, Sedanoui asserts. “One of the problems I see in the Western world is that children are growing up with the heaviness of the disappointment of the economic crises of the last few years, and were pushed to make choices that don’t allow the development of those qualities which might make them happy". There is also a certain pervasive rootlessness to today’s youth, notes the model, “many young people are confused about celebrity, as if that was the only goal to look towards. Celebrity for no reason. The professional world is truly changing, thanks to the global connectivity. We are overwhelmed with possibilities, but in many countries there is a detachment between what we are really prepared for in schools and the services that are required today. There is so much potential. We need to be given the tools to make the best of it. The point of the Foundation is not that kids should be taught only to ‘be artists,’ but that art can open their perspectives".

Sednaoui’s next step? Bringing on partners to aid in the mission—“The only way to get things done is to unite forces!” she exclaims—which she and Louboutin believe will foster a sense of community. “We should always remember that children are the future", says Louboutin, “and this new generation should not only have dreams, but also have the opportunity to pursue them.”
