how do you do a website

First you need to create some pages, to do this you need a web page editor (or even notepad if you're nuts)

Some common web page editors are Microsoft FrontPage (part of MS Office - easy to use but doesn't give very clean code), Adobe GoLive (don't know much about it), and what I use - Dreamweaver (gives pretty good code)

Those 3 are commercial packages but there are also free web page editors

After you created some web pages, you can preview them on your own computer.

If you like what you see, you upload them to a webhost via FTP with a FTP client like FileZilla. There are free webhosts but for more options you need to pay.

For 200GB of storage, 2000GB of monthly transfer, I'm paying around $8 a month - dreamhost.com

Now comes the domain name. You can get a free domain name which is usually a subdomain of a bigger domain, or you can buy your own. If it's free then it costs you around $10 a year.

This domain name then needs to be pointed to your webhost's name servers, via a configuration page at your domain name provider, such as godaddy.com. But some webhosts (such as the one I use) will provide free domain registration if you use their hosting services.

You then upload the web pages to your webhost, with the home page named index.htm, index.html, or index.php (if it's a php page) and then people will see your home page at the domain.

I made Josie Maran World's HTML pages in dreamweaver :)

I read some articles on website making, and tried making some pages with FrontPage. That's how I started. I wanted more control, so I read a book about Dreamweaver and switched to Dreamweaver.

I've been making pages for fun for severall years but I'm not very good at it.

The gallery is done using Coppermine Photo Gallery: http://coppermine-gallery.net/ but I edited the template file a lot to match the rest of my site.

The forum is Invision Power Board, but I made a HTML page which loads up the forum contents in a "iframe".

I hope that was somewhat understandable, feel free to ask if something's not quite clear.

an example of a website that i like http://anacarolina.com/ for josiemaran-world.com

very nice site :)

unfortunately I don't have the skills to make a site in Flash :(

I've mostly finished with the redesign of http://josiemaran-world.com/ and I'm quite happy with the result, it's about as good as my limited skills will take me

but if you (or anyone else) have any suggestions on how to make it better then I'd be very grateful :)

NEW:ish?

I got a chance to talk to Ryan today, he said Josie was in his words "awesome, cool as shit!". They hung out in this one area where everyone takes a smoke break for a little while.

"She was totally chill, it was like talking to a friend you've known for ever".. When I asked if she's as beautiful in person as she is in pictures, he was like "Fuck no. She's even a bigger hottie in person".. That and she smelled really good, like Bubblegum and Vanilla.

He also said she had a thing about putting lotion on her hands all the time. lol Which I do as well.. I love soft hands.
