At age 14, Christophe Jouany discovered his passion for photography when his father gave him his first camera.

Born in France and raised between the beautiful terrains of the French Alps, Paris, and St. Barths, he acquired his love of the outdoors. This will define his versatile style and continues to fuel the energetic quality of his current work.

From the age of 16 to 20, he directed extreme sport movies and mastered the skill of capturing stills of his adventures. After a brief career as an airline pilot in his early 20’s, he moved to NYC in 1984 to pursue his passion for imagery.

Testing young models for Elite modeling agency the first year, he learned the craft of fashion photography and the technical skill it required. Whether it be shooting in studio or directing models and crews.

Shortly after, he became the official photographer of the famous LOOK OF THE YEAR contest which discovered most of the supermodels of that time. His sense of aesthetic and strong knowledge of studio lighting made him an instant success.

Recognized for his unique understanding of a women’s beauty, he was hired to shoot countless magazine covers, feeling as comfortable shooting in studio or on location.

His intimate knowledge of the mountain, desert and sea took him to the four corners of the globe. Working on assignments photographing advertising campaigns, celebrities as well as covers and stories for the leading fashion magazines.

After 25 years of a successful career in New York City, Christophe moved with his family to Tampa, Florida where he now resides on his ranch. He produces and directs colorful documentaries about his pilot adventures for his popular YouTube channel and continues to photograph on special assignments and capture images within his personal life.

For the past six years he has enjoyed being the official photographer of one of the most prestigious regatta weeks in the world. A book on his sailing photography will be published this year.
