She is best known for playing the role of Alya Nazir in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street since 2014.Khan was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Before landing the role of Alya Nazir in Coronation Street, she was a receptionist for an advertising agency in London. In 2011, she appeared in an episode of the BBC medical soap opera Doctors as Nina Chopra. In June 2014, Khan made her first appearance as Alya Nazir in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street. She has remained a regular character on the show ever since. For the role of Alya Nazir she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2015.
