A few players niggled

Roberto Carlos, Diarra, Ramos and Torres pending progress

The clash against Bayern Munich not only cost the Whites the Champions League quarterfinals, but several of its players ended the encounter with niggled muscles and bones. Roberto Carlos, Diarra, Ramos and Torres will require monitoring and follow up to their respective injuries. They will be checked up tomorrow, Thursday, by the Club's Medical Services during training.

Roberto Carlos sustained an injury to his left leg sural biceps, under the knee, while Diarra has a bruised right leg. The most dramatic injury was Sergio Ramos', who heavily bruised his nose bone after clashing against Roy Makaay. The Sevillian defender had to withdraw from the field of play for a few minutes because the stream of blood coming out of his nose would not cease, but he made it back alright and continued playing until the end of the match.

Also niggled was youth player Miguel Torres. He was the starting right fullback tonight and was in charge of the much feared Schweinsteiger. The young player has sustained a right ankle sprain and, as the rest of his team-mates, will be examined during tomorrow's training at Valdebebas. Everything seems to indicate that none of the injuries is too serious to discard any one of the players for the Saturday match; most probably, all of them will make the squad list for the Camp Nou game.
