Earning roles in two of the Weinstein Company’s most-talked about films of 2014— The Giver, starring Meryl Streep, Taylor Swift, Katie Holmes, and Jeff Bridges, and St Vincent De Van Nuys starring Naomi Watts and Bill Murray— Katharina is set to become fashion’s next multi-hyphenate success and with the portfolio to prove it!In anticipation of Katharina’s forthcoming Hollywood takeover, we’ve pulled together ten must-know facts about the stunning model-turned-actress, whose talents go well beyond the runway. Here’s what your need to know:1. Katharina got her start in modeling while studying acting in New York as a teenager. After being told that she was too short to model, she decided to focus more on studies in acting. While traveling abroad to St. Tropez, she was discovered by a French booker who was looking for a new face to cast in the Curve fragrance campaign— Katharina was that face! Following the campaign, her modeling carer took flight, and soon, she was gracing the covers of Denmark’s top magazines.2. As a kid, Katharina spent most of her time at her family’s farm in Denmark, where she grew up riding horses bareback through the forests around her home.3. In addition to being an animal lover, Katharina is also a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie. In the past, she’s bungee jumped from the Oribi Gorge in South Africa— the highest free-fall in the world!4. Growing up in Copenhagen, Katharina also spent a considerable amount of time skiing with her family, eventually becoming a professional skier. To this day, she continues to going skiing with parents and her two brothers twice a year.5. While keeping busy with her acting career Katharina has not forgotten her love for fashion. Growing up in Copenhagen and watching her parents create and develop the SOS Black Snow ski apparel brand, Katharina learned the fundamentals of fashion and design. Inspired by her family’s business and a love of the snowy white mountains, Katharina soon took stake in SOS Black Snow and began to design fashion-forward and edgy apparel for the brand, which has become hugely popular in the ski world.6. Katharina studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Academy for two years before studying at the New York Film Academy. Katharina on the set of “St Vincent De Van Nuys”7. The up-and-coming actress tells us that of all of her roles thus far, she had the most fun filming her role as Starlet, the Russian stripper, in St Vincent De Van Nuys alongside Naomi Watts. 8.
