SympathysSilhouette
We hardly see an unairbrushed picture any more. It's just the way of the industry, I guess.
Rogue
I hate it when vs air brushes to the point that the models don't look real any more.. it drive me nuts, it's a waste of picture if you ask me.
SympathysSilhouette
Airbrushing has just gotten out of hand in recent years.

SympathysSilhouette
It is?
falsesmiles
Yeah. Whenever I put photos on MySpace I just have to run them through Photoshop first. Admittably then they don't look so much like me because the colouring is off, but I make no secret of the fact they're altered so heh. SympathysSilhouette
you alter your own pics on myspace? why is that?
Pauline
no airbrushing. Who has always perfect, good looking skin? it's a rare gift or sth and we should not get used to such pics airbrushed like vs ones are. I mean - where is photography and reality? falsesmiles
you alter your own pics on myspace? why is that?Honestly? Because my skin is terrible. It's not anywhere near acne level but it's still kinda gross to have on a picture that represents you over an entire site. Idk, I guess on some level because it gives a level of control over the way I look and am therefore judged.

I've been messing around with it for about a year now I guess, and with the help of some LJ communities I'd say I've gotten pretty far in that time. Without meaning to sound as if I'm boasting or whatever, because obviously I'm not amazingly amazing at it otherwise I'd have a career in it. It's just a slightly geekish hobby
DutchChick
Yeah. Whenever I put photos on MySpace I just have to run them through Photoshop first. Admittably then they don't look so much like me because the colouring is off, but I make no secret of the fact they're altered so heh. OMG, I am guilty too.... have altered pics of myself. Remove a pimple here and there, take away a shiny forehead... is that bad??? Its like "this pimple is temporary", its not a darn feature of mine LOL!!! DutchChick
Found some examples of LMP with and without airbrush. Should this one have been (more) airbrushed? lazy01001
If your so worried about what people will think of your face, then don't post a picture of yourself. Why airbrush it...and pretty much "lie" about what you look like.... I can see taking care of some pimples, becasue lets face it we all get them and we all hate them, but people that to drastic airbrushes get to me... lazy01001
I don't edit my photos... Mind you I do take really crappy ones, and I'm never satisfied with how htey turn out... I know I could have looked much better in the recent photos i posted in whos behind hte screen name... but I just posted them to give people an idea of what I look like...not what I could look like with some computer magic. Straight up, no lies.
Rogue
I look better in person than I do in pictures most of the time. Or at least that is what I would love to think. It's hard to take a decent picture of yourself.. esp with a phone..
